About this house rental

Our Family bach in Northland’s stunning Te Ngaere Bay offers a fantastic beach front destination. The property has direct flow to the beach, a truely unique experience for all ages.

Approximately 35 minutes north of Kerikeri, in a sheltered north-facing bay, Te Ngaere is ideal for boating, swimming and all manner of water sports.
The house itself compromises 2 large double bedrooms, a mezzanine bedroom with a queen bed. Holiday living is enhanced by a large lounge/kitchen/dining area with direct access to large deck areas looking out over the beach.
There is ample off street parking for cars and boats.

To the north via the Cavalli scenic loop road is Kaeo and Whangaroa Harbour - a popular boating haven.

Matauri Bay is 10 minutes away by car. The Matauri Bay Camp shop has basic supplies including Petrol, LPG and dive tank refills. A few minutes further up the road is world renowned Kauri Cliffs golf resort.

Extras: Bed Linen is included (supply your own towels please, water is precious).
Rural broadband internet is available.

Traditional NZ bach with an amazing views and location.We had a lovely time.A bit hard to get your head around layout but 1 bedroom with a view at the front with 2 king SINGLE Beds and a cubby next to it with a small bed. A bunk room and another room at the back of the house with 2 king SINGLE Beds. The Queen Sized Bed is in the loft is through the garage and doesn't have a view and not as easy to use as the other rooms. Other than not understanding the bed arrangement we really liked the bach.

Amazing place. This was our second visit. You can’t get more beachfront, and for those who love fishing and diving, the Cavalli islands are just around the corner. Nigel is a great host who communicates really well.

This Bach is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing break with friends and family. The location is unbeatable and peaceful, we were often the only people on the beach during our stay. Set right on the beachfront & just metres from the sea meant lots of swimming in the warm water & walks on the beach. At night we could hear the waves breaking on the shore & watch the beautiful sunsets while having our dinner outside. The house built in the 70’s around a Pohutukawa tree was very special.

Right from our initial dealings with Nigel the owner who couldn’t have been more helpful in all respects this was an amazing week long restful holiday for both my wife & I . The house is built around a fantastic ancient pohutukawa tree and has every convenience you would need. Having no wifi was a plus for us - bring a book and sit on the deck instead ! Cannot recommend highly enough - we will be back.

Would highly recommend this bach to anyone wanting to stay at Te Ngaere 😊 The owners were great with communication before our stay & made it really easy. Perfect location, right in front of the beach, could just walk straight onto the sand, no packing up the car to drive to the beach. Big enough bach for all of us (4 adults, 2 children). Nice & clean with a decent size kitchen. We used the bbq every night & the kayaks. Kids even loved going in the kayak, our daughter (3yrs) especially loved going in the kayak in the estuary & our son (6yrs) loved going with his dad in the estuary & the beach when there weren't any waves. Super safe beach for the kids. We all absolutely loved our stay & will hopefully be back next year as this is a wonderful family beach & a great bach that we would definitely rent again.

The moment you arrive at Te Ngare beach you are going to go wow! the view is completely understated in this listing as is the property. The master bedroom has its own deck with an ancient pohutakawa framing the view, the lounge is spacious and comfortable with another deck straight of the front (north facing for the sun) The kitchen is modern and well equipped, the remaining bedrooms are all lovely. The property is much bigger than it appears in photos, guessing around 280 to 300m2. The fishing and boating was spectacular, several fish over 50cm went on board. You can catch them on the kayak supplied also. Boating around the Cavalli's was beautiful. Crystal clear blue water and bays that are as beautiful as Te Ngare itself. The hosts were a delight, the instructions clear. They even provided a map with the best fishing spots and anchorages. The neighbours were also delightful. This will go down as one of the best holidays we have experienced and we have experienced many both here in NZ and offshore. Thank you to the owners of holiday home for sharing your treasured property. Your made our time there special. Thanks again, Russ, Julanne and Vanessa

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful part of the country. Between relaxing on the beanbags in the sunshine to kayaking and swimming (yes in October!) we couldn't have asked for better weather or a better fully catered for home to stay in. Would recommend taking own pillows but that's just our own preference. We hope to come back and stay again thanks Nigel you made our first trip with our newest addition and friends an easy and extremely memorable one. Cheers!
