Perfect location, Really good value, but bring your own towels and linens

The location is perfect, for a ski trip especially! It is literally a 40s walk to the SPAR supermarket across the garden in the middle of the apartment blocks, and a 1min walk to a Sport 2000 where I rented my ski equipment. Access to the ski areas in the Chamonix area was perfect too, with the Chamonix Sud bus stop, where pretty much all the ski buses and city coaches from Geneva, Paris, and other major cities pass through. On my non-skiing day, I visited the Aiguille du Midi, which was also only a 3 min walk from the apartment. Downtown Chamonix is a 3-5 min walk away. I arrived in Chamonix Sud 3h late due to a traffic jam between Geneva and Chamonix, but was still able to walk to the apartment, deposit my stuff, and buy sandwiches from the SPAR supermarket to fuel my packed lunches on the slopes. I had initially intended to rent my ski equipment on the day I arrived, but the Sport 2000 in front of the apartment opens at 0815 so I was able to settle my equipment rental on my first ski day and I didn't lose any precious ski-pass time too.

1. Hygiene and cleanliness. This was my biggest gripe of the place. The linens and towels especially appear to be very old. When I arrived, the beds and the sofa had cloths covering their surface that smelled slightly musty and dusty. But that could not prepare me for the biggest (unpleasant) shock I got when I used the bath towels after my first shower. The towels are EXTREMELY old, and had an even mustier smell than the cloths on the sofa and the beds. Their fibres were all hardened and crusted over, and very rough to touch. The worst part was when I wiped myself down and found many strands of hair and dust on my body. It appeared like the towel was used to wiped down a shedding dog, or somebody shaved their body hair over the towel and just left it for the next guest (me) to use or something. Coupled with the torn shower curtain (which I will describe later), I was very tempted to just pack up and find another place to stay. I dusted the towel to find many more hairs and dust falling out, that towel was much dirtier than an unwashed floormat! 2. The general maintenance condition of the place was not the best. The lock to the bathroom was broken, the wall clock did not have its battery inserted and I had to dig around the apartment for batteries. The shower curtain had a partial tear on one side which only got worse every time I showered. The common areas of the building were a little sketchy too - the corridor lights were motion activated but would only turn on for 10s before turning themselves off. This is annoying when waiting for the lifts. The staircases were unlit too. 3. Hidden fees. The confirmation email suggested that linens and towels were included in the price I paid, but I was asked to pay 10 or 5 EUR to rent the bed linens (for the double bed or the single bed respectively) during my stay. There is also an optional 30 EUR cleaning fee at the end of my stay, I didn't want to pay it so I cleaned up before I checked out.

The view was fabulous from the balcony. The apartment was very clean. The location was perfect, very close to the main shops and cafe's but far enough away to be quiet.

Location

No email received with instructions for key collection, had to wait and chase up on arrival. Inadequate bedding provided despite pre booked. Bed uncomfortable. Plug socket not secured to wall. Tap in kitchen falls down. Shower unusable due to shower curtain not long enough so leaks all over the floor. Hosts slow to respond. Interior is dated but usable. Only single set of door keys provided which is required for the main door on ground floor as well as flat on 2nd floor making it hasle for 2 people to come home at seperate times. Door difficult to lock from the inside. Not ideal for families.

Ok, Just to clarify some reports from the comments below that made me concerned before arrival. 1- The key is actually very easy to obtain if you read the instruction properly/ It literally took 1 minute. 2- The electric stove is properly functional. Hold the on/off button for a few seconds to switch this on/off 3- The matrasses on the bunk bed are OK. If you want a new one, book the 4-5 star hotel. Overall experience is great. The location, views, water pressure. (Hot water is really hot!), quiet atmosphere. I came with my wife between 2 seasons for hiking. So we stayed only from evenings to mornings. What we needed is a properly working kitchen, shower, and good sleep. There is much more than that!

Arte TV did not work and glitches all the time. But it's not a big deal. We didn't come to the mountains to watch TV.

Nice cosy apartment with stunning view of Mont-Blanc

Very cosy, super-clean and well-maintained apartment. It has all necessary for living. Location is superb. View of the Mont-Blanc from the balcony is absolutely stunning! When I checked in, heating was already turned on for me - that was very welcoming and nice! Smooth check-in.

There was only 1/4 of toilet paper available roll upon check-in. It would be nice to have one full roll of toilet paper when you check in. Toilet seat is sliding to the side. Cooker did not function - I was not able to use it. Sofa-bed is squeaky. I do not think it would be comfortable for two people to sleep on it.

Un studio agréable à vivre.

J'ai passé un agréable séjour dans ce studio aménagé. J'ai trouvé tout le confort nécessaire pour passer de bons moments. J'ai beaucoup aimé le balcon. 😍 Bonne communication avec Virginie, tout était clean pour moi et convenable.

Rien de particulier à signaler, à part les lits du couloir qui me rappellent mon service militaire !🤣

La literie est catastrophique. La canapé avec une partie fixe et le coffre remplis des coussins du dossier avec un surmatelas … inconfortable au possible. Mal de dos garanti. Les lits superposés trop courts pour des adultes et couette enfant donc pas très couvrante
