About this house rental

Ideally located on a very quiet one-way street, 500 m from a large lifeguarded beach and close to the town centre (400 m from a supermarket and 450 m from an excellent bakery).
Merville-Franceville-Plage is a small, friendly town where everything is within walking distance.

A family home, fully renovated while keeping its character and charm (we chose to keep the original windows, which can be a drawback in winter).

4 bedrooms: 3 upstairs (160, 140 and 140 cm beds) and one on the ground floor with 2 single beds (2 x 90 cm). 2 bathrooms with WC, one upstairs and one on the ground floor. A large, bright living room with windows on three sides, opening onto a terrace, and an open-plan kitchen.

Every comfort, with beds made on arrival; bath towels and tea towels are also provided.
Wi-Fi (fibre) and flat-screen TV with Netflix, kitchen with induction hob, pyrolytic oven, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, electric and underfloor heating.

The house sleeps up to 8 people (though it gets a little cramped on rainy days).

A sheltered, enclosed 550 m² garden with garden furniture and sun loungers, a large electric awning, a garden lamp and outdoor lighting so you can enjoy the terraces in the evening too, a built-in barbecue and old bicycles at your disposal.

NB: free parking is available on the street right in front of the house, and you can also park your car on the property.

Electricity: an allowance of 250 kWh per week is included. It may be exceeded in winter if the heating is used. In that case you may be asked to pay a supplement, based on the electricity consumption recorded in my EDF customer account.

Late check-out is possible if no one has booked after you.

The town of Cabourg, with its racecourse, seafront and shops, can be reached by bike along a cycle path (5 km).
The D-Day landing beaches are also nearby, and the Merville Battery offers a unique immersive experience of the feat accomplished by British paratroopers.
Merville-Franceville is also a renowned kitesurfing spot, with a colourful, lively sky as soon as the wind picks up.
A sailing school (dinghy, catamaran, windsurfing) is within reach by bike or on foot (18 min).

A lovely place to stay, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Great location to explore the history of the D-day landing and the amazing museum in Caen.

The house is ideal for visiting the D-Day beaches and museums in a lovely little village which offers bars and restaurants. The house is only 25 minutes to the ferry port and best of all you get to go over pegasus bridge when ever you go anywhere.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Norman house. Communication with Patrice was easy and the check-in process smooth. The house was clean and neat. Linen’s were fresh. The backyard was beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet, and the neighbors friendly. The area is awash in history. About an hour from Normandy, this locale enable us to see everything we wanted and more. We had a change of plans and had to check out early, but we enjoyed our stay very much.

when I called to say we were coming, the person I called did not answer so I called the owner and he met us there. He did not speak english very well which surprised us if you are going to rent to travelers . He did not know how most things worked and house was very cold. home is not really as advertised and no explanations on how things work such as washer or TV. Was not what the 4 of us expected.
