Loved The Loire

This was a perfect property for us, a family of four. Its in a great location for sightseeing, cycling, running and walking into the countryside yet it was within minutes of a fantastic boulangerie/patisserie., restaurants of Rochecorbon and Tours. The gite is full of character and the layout is very family friendly, it’s well equipped and has a ping-pong/table tennis table which was a real ‘hit’ with the children. Even though the owners live nearby it’s very private, not overlooked at all.

Our family of five had a very relaxing stay. The cottage was perfect -- very comfortable, fully equipped kitchen and beautifully decorated. Our children enjoyed the ping pong table and the outdoor space. Philippe and Martine could not have been nicer and went out of their way to help us with various logistics. Highly recommend this property.

We had an amazing stay with our most gracious hosts Philippe and Martine! They prepared everything for our arrival and had excellent communications in advance regarding our arrival day and time. The cottage is gorgeous and very well equipped. Filled with light and warmth and very spacious. It was a wonderful retreat for our family. The location of the cottage is perfect for touring the Loire Valley, and the town of Rochecorbon is charming, quaint and quiet but has all of the amenities needed for groceries, bakery, restaurants, walking trails etc. We would highly recommend this property and cannot wait to return ourselves!

Très beau gîte, propre et très bien décoré,vraiment charmant. Il est aussi très bien situé, près de tout, boulangerie-pâtisserie , épicerie, charcuterie. Très près de Tours, Amboise etc. Il est adjacent à la maison des propriétaires qui étaient absolument gentils, discrets ainsi que disponibles au besoin. Il y a aussi un beau jardin ou l’on pouvait relaxer après notre journée. Je recommande cet endroit sans réserve. Merci pour tout Martine et Philippe

This property was lovely, beautiful and peaceful. We stayed in a house on the property (the owners' home is just next door). The house we stayed in was very nicely appointed, with everything we needed. The owner was close by and available for any questions. This was a great spot, with a boulangerie and charcuterie just steps away and easy access to local attractions. Really enjoyed our stay here.

At Home in the Heart of Touraine

Our month-long stay at Le Pavilion de la Lanterne in Rochecorbon could not have been more delightful. We arrived in mid-April to witness the gradual emergence of the foliage in this snug valley along the Loire River. This was the ideal starting point for exploring the sights in the Touraine and beyond. The cottage has been carefully renovated and equipped with every modern convenience. Our hosts were gracious and generous in their attention to our requests. We especially appreciated the spacious private parking and beautiful gardens of the property. What greater compliment than to say we were sad to have to leave?

A really enjoyable week

Although the weather could have been a little hotter we still really enjoyed the week, some of it spent locally and some of it visiting the nearby attractions. We particularly enjoyed our trips upstream to Amboise and Blois and also downstream as well as to Loche and Chinon. There are lots of lovely chateaux and villages to see. The holiday cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped on one side of the large garden away from the main house. Thank you Martine for letting us stay in your lovely holiday cottage.

Gite aménagé avec goût, bien agencé et extrêmement bien équipé. Très bien chauffé l'hiver. Les chambres sont spacieuses, la literie impeccable. Tout fonctionne à merveille. L'extérieur est également bien aménagé, même si nous n'en avons pas vraiment profité en décembre, et bien isolé de la résidence principale pourtant proche. Les hôtes sont charmants, accueillants, attentifs et efficaces. L'emplacement est idéal pour découvrir la région et les châteaux. Un super séjour !

The large wooden gate opens on the beautiful landhouse of the owners...the surrounding park/garden is just as beautiful and is well maintained...nature prevails with wilde flowers and plants having been given the space they deserve. The property itself is nicely located in the back garden, surrounded by apple trees and plenty of green. The owners welcomed us and the check-in was warm, friendly and very relaxed. Same of the check-out. Totally hassle free. The gite is very comfortable, cosy and very well equipped and configured. The top floor with the two double bedrooms at each end of the corridor, the 2-single-beds bedroom in the middle and the two bathrooms/toilets, is really comfortable, practical and convenient. Plenty of space outside with the possibility to eat in the garden or under the original covered terrace. Whether the sun shines or the rains falls, it is a great place to stay at. And there is a delicious bakery just 5 minutes walk from the property. It is also perfectly geographically located: excellent base to discover the area and visits the Loire's castles. The great city of Tours is just a 15 min drive away. But also easily reachable by bike or bus. Last but not least, the owners are full of great info over the area, the wine yards, the good restaurants. They are very discreet but always available whenever needed. A great experience.

Wir waren mit unseren drei Kindern in Rochecorbon. Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet zur Besichtigung der zahlreichen Loire-Schlösser, die Wohnung toll und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und die Tischtennisplatte für die Jungs am Abend eine tolle Möglichkeit, sich zu bewegen und zu erholen. Für uns ein besonderes Plus war auch der Familienhund, der uns auch ab und zu besucht hat und unsere Kinder begeistert hat.

We hebben een aangenaam verblijf gehad in dit heerlijke huisje . Het voelde heel comfortabel aan tot het luxeuze af. Heel prettige omgeving , elke dag een chateau bezocht. We konden zelfs zwemmen in de Loire door het warme weer. De kinderen genoten van de tuin die niet groot was maar door de indeling heel ruim en levendig groot aanvoelde. En er was een Bakker op loop afstand . Kortom een heerlijke week gehad mede door het fijne huis en de mooie plek.

Wir haben 10 Tage in diesem schönen Haus mit tollem Garten verbracht. Die Lage ist perfekt, gingen mit unseren drei Kinder jeden Tag eine andere Stadt und Schlösser der Loire besichtigen. War wunderschön. Einziger Mangel, Die Gastgeber sind zwar sehr nett aber total Verklemmt und unsicher Sie kommen nicht auf einen zu und fragen mal ob alles ok ist. Als es so sehr kalt wurde nur noch 13 Grad am Tag und biese und 2 Grad in der Nacht mussten wir wegen der Heizung fragen. Das störte uns und bevor wir gebucht hatten, haben wir gefragt ob die Besitzer einen Hund haben, da schrieben Sie zurück, dass in dieser Zeit wo wir kommen keinen Hund dort währe und am dritten Tag war da plötzlich ein Hund im Garten. Das ging gar nicht. Auf unsere E-Mail reagierte sie aber sofort und schaute dass der Hund nicht mehr im Garten war. Ansonsten wahren wir sehr zufrieden
