Hewune Uptown Stay

The family that runs this place is so kind and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean with a good fan, which is plenty for the cooler nights in Kandy. The shower also has hot water! The location is great - just 1 minute walk from the Kandy view point and an easy tuk tuk ride or slow walk up the hill from the lake. The property is quiet at night and you can hear the birds and monkeys in the morning. I would recommend staying here if you're looking for convenience but also peace and quiet!

This homestay is truly a very welcoming place. The room is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The best part of my stay was being welcomed by Harshi, her sister, brother, and father. The place is run by an incredibly warm family who genuinely wants you to have wonderful experiences. Take the time to talk with them: Harshi especially tells beautiful stories! Also, Harshi’s father drives a tuk tuk and can be very helpful if you need to reach places that are farther away. The breakfast was also delicious and very abundant, in perfect Sri Lankan style. A truly special place in Kandy.
