Charming villa, yet affordable, in Villefranche-sur-mer, the real Cote d’Azur.

The property was spacious and clean and was the perfect place to stay with friends.

Overall we had a good stay. The house is large, the beds are comfy, it was clean, there was plenty of kitchen equipment. The white goods worked really well. We found one chipped cup- I only refer to this because of a previous review that must be inaccurate. The outside spaces are great. The views are wonderful. It is relatively unmodernised, this is part of its charm and a reason why it is relatively affordable for the area. I would go again, but if in the summer would ask for fans. It was too hot to sleep due to an unexpected heatwave. We found a local beach we really liked, but due to the heat and Villefranche being on such a steep hillside we needed a car to get there and back. Jean Claude and Stephanie were very helpful. We had problems briefly with the electricity, and longer problems with the wi fi and TV. I think they could do with someone local who can fix things like this. But Jean Claude offered us sufficient recompense and was very pleasant about it.

Very disappointing, The location was not as described on the VRBO website. The location shown on VRBO was in the town, but the actual location was a long walk, uphill, from the town. - The property was described as an “8 minute walk” from the beach. According to Google maps it is a 15 minute walk (NOT 8 minutes), and up a very steep hill. A reasonable portion of the walk was along streets with no sidewalk. - The condition of the property was poor - There were only sheets for two of the four beds. This was not acceptable for our family of 4 people. - The kitchen was not very clean - The dinnerware and glasses were all chipped posed a hazard to use, particularly for our son - There was underwear on the floor outside the front door - The fridge was not clean, with half drank water bottles in it - There were no amenities (soap, shower gel, toilet paper etc). Anyone staying here should be prepared to go out and buy all the necessary cleaning supplies, including toilet paper. - The furniture was in poor condition and some was unusable because of wear and damage. - The TV and internet did not work., even though the property was advertised as having TV and internet available. The owner gave me a phone number and suggested I call the telecom company and have it fixed - wow! - No one was available to check us in, the keys were left on a window sill. - There were no instructions on how to use anything in the house. Most places I have stayed at least have some basic information available. We did not stay in the house because of the above reasons. The owner has refused to issue a refund, or even to communicate with us.

We spent four weeks at this property in lovely Villefranche-sur-mer. The villa is large, beds are comfortable and views are gorgeous. The kitchen is more than adequate. As we didn't rent a car, we walked to the very convenient bus stops for journeys all over Côte d'Azur. Our favorite restaurant in the old town is La Belle Étoile, highly recommended. We enjoyed walking over the hill to Beaulieu-sur-mer for lunch, then groceries, returning via the bus Lignes d'Azur. Stephanie and Jean-Claude answer emails promptly and were helpful if we had any questions.

We stayed in this charming Provencal house for a month in September and it met all our requirements. Travelling from the other side of the world, it's not practical to stay for just a week in Europe , but a longer period can be rather expensive especially on the Riviera. This house however ,was very good value for 6 to 8 people with plenty of room and very comfortable. The warm evenings on the terrace watching the moon rise behind the cypresses is the stuff dreams are made of! Though not super- luxurious, it was clean and comfortable and therefore very relaxing. The appliances - dish washer, washing machine, microwave etc were all in very good condition and there was plenty of cutlery, crockery . Lovely old village and good beach and loads of places to eat. The water temperature was a very pleasant 25o C. Some members of our party wanted to extend the stay for a couple more months! The owner was very co operative and helpful with long distance organising. It was also helpful to have a garage as, although the street was very quiet, parking was limited.

We ended up staying here for four months between September and December. This is a beautiful and charming old villa. The location is amazing - quiet safe street, just a few minutes walk into the old town and beach and with stunning views. The photos don't really do justice to how beautiful the views are. There is a large terrace which extends off the main living area and sits above a beautiful garden and which has stunning views down to the old town and sea. We spent many hours on the terrace which gets all day sun well into winter. The furnishings in the house match the age of the house but are charming and the house has everything you could need. The owner and his agent are kind and honest.

This is a beautiful old house with all its charm and fascinating views from its balcony. There are plenty of rooms for 8 people. It is not luxorious but very well maintained and very clean, we had a lovely week here. Beaches are close by and town centre is a short walk away. Ideal location for a quiet yet active summer holiday.( Cannes, Monte Carlo short drive) Kitchen well equipped including dishwasher, pots and pans. Owner is very friendly and helpful, quick in communication. I hope we can return here one days. I can fullheartedly recommend.

It’s an beautiful old house with somewhat dated furniture but well equipped and with a lovely garden and amazing view. You can easily walk down to the beach and shops and with a bit more effort up again.

La maison est très bien située et très fonctionnelle. (Très pratique si deux familles par exemple) Le jardin et la terrasse vu sur mer sont très appréciables. Transport en commun (vus) juste en bas de la rue et de quoi garer la voiture. Si nous devons revenir à Villefranche, nous n’hésiterons pas à revenir ici :)

Maison charmante avec une vue époustouflante sur la mer depuis la terrasse de la maison. La maison est agréable ( bien équipée), la partie basse est plus sombre mais idéale pour des ados. L’accès à la plage la plus proche est a 15 min à pieds, le retour est plus long par les marches à travers le village, des bus desservent des arrêts non loin de la maison. Nous recommandons cette maison seul bémol on aurait apprécié que les lits soient faits surtout lorsque l’on s’acquitte de 200 euros de ménage et de 25€ par kits de draps.

Nichée sur les hauteurs d’un village authentique, au cœur d’une région offrant richesses culturelles et naturelles, cette maison est très agréable à vivre avec ses pièces spacieuses et indépendantes et sa terrasse avec vue imprenable sur la mer. Le propriétaire et la personne s’occupant de la maison sont réactifs et à l’écoute.

La maison bénéficie d'une vue superbe sur la rade. La terrasse est très grande, très très agréable. Propreté impeccable à l'arrivée. La maison est très bien placée, nous avons pu rayonner de Menton jusqu'à l'arrière pays. 3 semaines merveilleuses, nous reviendrons !

Ein südfranzösisches Ferienhaus wie im Film: charmant, in einem wunderbaren Umfeld mit atemberaubenden Blick auf das Meer und Cap Ferrat, sowie einem herrlichen Garten mit Citrus- und Feigenbäumen und Kakteen. Das Haus aus den 1930er-Jahren ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, doch sind die Matratzen, Küchengeräte (besonders auch der Kühlschrank), die Waschmaschine, das untere Duschbad und die Terrassenmöbel auf dem neuesten Stand. Das antiquarische Mobiliar und die großzügigen Räume machen den Charme des Hauses aus – und natürlich die Lage! Etwas Kondition benötigt man freilich: Der ganze Ort Villfranche-sur-Mer ist an einem steilen Hang gebaut und das Haus steht in Halbhöhenlage. Zum kleinen, aber feinen Strand des Ortes gelangt man in 15 min zu Fuß bergab über zahlreiche Treppen und steile Sträßchen. Bäckerei, Metzgerei und ein kleiner Supermarkt sind auf halber Strecke zu erreichen. Bergauf kommt man freilich etwas ins Schwitzen. Für das Auto steht eine Garage zur Verfügung, doch empfiehlt es sich, kein zu großes Auto mitzubringen, da die Straße zum Haus sehr eng und die Garage niedrig ist. Wir (vier Erwachsene) haben uns in dem Haus von Jean-Claude Hazard sehr wohl gefühlt und uns wunderbar erholt. Wir hoffen, dass es noch lange so, wie es ist, zur Verfügung steht und kommen gerne einmal wieder.

We stayed for two weeks in a typical France villa. A well designed house with southern aspects. Enough room for 8 persons . The view over the Villefranche Bay is extraordinary. Distance to the beach and harbour are 15 minutes. On the website the house was not correct situated. The furniture however is dated and several chairs and cutains are rickety or already broken. The kitchen as well as the bathrooms are not very clean. The direct contact with e- mail with the owner was satisfactory

Bel soggiorno con ampi spazi e con il bel tempo un bel terrazzo da godersi.Sarebbe da migliorare il bagno e zona soggiorno,acquisirebbe molto valore aggiunto!!

We have just spent one week in this fantastic house and would like to highly recommend it for everyone who want's to experience the life at Cote d'Azur. The house has all the character you could ask for and the charm of an 'old lady', very graceful with patina. The owner Jean-Claude provided us with all information needed before arrival and keept in contact by email during our stay, in an enjoyable and professional way. We find Villefranche to be the perfect spot for exploring the villages between Cannes and Monaco. All reached within an hour by car. Concerning travelling by car, the garage was very appreciated since parking normaly is a challange at the riviera. Our company of four hade a marvellous stay and we felt at home from the first second when we opened the frontdoor. And then when we opened the french doors out to the terrace and the scenery, we fell in love big time. Thank you Jean-Claude for letting us stay in your fabulous house.

Pour la deuxième fois, nous avons loué la maison durant les vacances de Noël, parents, enfants, trois petits-enfants Nous apprécions beaucoup sa belle terrasse avec vue sur la baie de Villefranche, le joli jardin, la proximité avec le pittoresque village de Villefranche que l'on atteint facilement à pied et où l'on trouve les magasins nécessaires, la proximité avec la plage, le fait qu'on se passe aisément de voiture (pour atteindre Nice ou Monaco, ou même l'aéroport de Nice,le bus ou le train passent à proximité) et aussi, dans notre cas, la division des chambres en deux unités séparées accessibles par l'extérieur. C'est une maison de famille avec le confort moderne: très bon chauffage, wi fi, machines à vaisselle et à linge, bonne literie. Nous aimons beaucoup cette maison.

Nous avons passé notre vacances ici en juillet. C'est une belle maison surtout la terrasse, avec vue sur la mer, était très agréable. nous n'avons rien de negatif à rapporté. Le propriétaire, était très gentil et il nous a donnés beacoup d'information de la ville de Villefranches-sur-mer. Donc c'est une maison à recommander Cordialement, La famille Sonck et Deslagmeulder

Très agréable et grande maison familiale sur les hauteurs de Villefranche avec vue imprenable sur la rade d'où nous pouvions voir arriver tous les gros bateaux. Nous sommes restés du 02 au 16 Aout et avons pu alors admirer de la terrasse où nous mangions d'ailleurs tous les jours, tous les feux d'artifice sans nous déplacer - villefranche - Monaco...spectacle grandiose !! Nous étions 2 familles de 3 donc 6 au total d'habitude nous louons à 7 une maison, mais même à 7, nous aurions pu tous être logés dans cette maison, car elle est vaste et peut accueillir sans soucis jusqu'à 8 personnes. un vrai plaisir que d'être dans cette maison, spacieuse, sur 2 niveaux, les parents peuvent être à l'étage et les enfants au rez de chaussée, tout le confort, 2 salles de bain, lave linge, lave vaisselle, pratique avec un garage pour une voiture, la 2ème nous pouvions la garer dans une rue un peu plus haut avec un accès par un escalier...mais le grand avantage, nous pouvions tout faire à pied. De plus nous étions 3 plongeurs sur 6, nous partions à pied, et c'est rare, pour aller à notre petit club de plongée (Club Nausicaa) que nous recommandons, environ 15 à 20 mn de marche, ça nous mettait en forme le matin ...pendant que les 3 autres se baladaient, allaient à la plage, faire quelques petites courses...toujours à pied. Le propriétaire est charmant et nous a donné de multiples conseils avant de partir et la personne chargée de l'entretien et qui nous remet les clefs est à notre disposition si besoin. Je recommande vraiment cette maison. Pour le prix, c'est une vraie belle maison familiale.

Nous venons de passer une très agréable semaine dans cette jolie maison , grands parents, parents et enfants . Elle est vaste, bien située et bien agencée. Elle se compose de deux niveaux +/- indépendants (très pratique quand les grands parents veulent un peu de calme !) reliés par le jardin. Chaque niveaux comporte deux grandes chambres doubles et une salle de bain. Au niveau supérieur, on trouve aussi la cuisine et le séjour qui s'ouvre sur une grande terrasse ensoleillée avec vue sur la mer et un jardin en escalier planté d'orangers (dont les fleurs sentaient délicieusement à cette saison). La rue est étroite, il faut garer la voiture dans le garage (1,80 m. max. de hauteur),une deuxième voiture doit aller se garer dans la rue parallèle, plus haut. En 5 minutes à pied, par des escaliers, on arrive au joli village de Villefranche (boulangerie, boucherie, épicerie, restaurants) et en 15 minutes à pied, on est à la plage. L'aménagement intérieur à le côté un peu désuet d'une maison de famille mais possède tout le confort nécessaire: wifi, lave linge et lave vaisselle, chauffage. Les échanges de mails avec le propriétaire ont été aimables et efficaces et le contact avec le responsable sur place aussi. Je dois ajouter que nous avons eu, en ce mois de janvier, un temps splendide, que nous avons mangé chaque jour sur la terrasse et avons été à la plage avec les petits-enfants! Nous gardons donc tous un excellent souvenir de ce séjour! Mon appréciation comporte 5 étoiles vu le "rapport qualité/prix"

Location dans les hauteurs de villefranche....très belle vue mais pas assez pour rattraper le lieu de la location. Décoration vieillotte, manque de vaisselle surtout pour une location pour 8 personnes!!!! Literie récente ????revoir définition de récente a ne pas pratiquer si fragile du dos....présence importante de moisissures dans le studio du bas.peinture defrechie.salle de bains du bas insalubre....juste une honte de louer a des vacanciers et a ce prix....maison loin d être un palais. Aucun état des lieux fait,remise des clés sous le paillasson de la porte d entrée. Présence de pierre et gravats en guise de déco..... Pendant notre séjour, nous avons besoin de lit d appoint pour bébé.....en effet le propriétaire a fourni un deuxième lit parapluie sans avoir vérifier que le premier était moisi et matelas ne sentant pas tres bon....
