About this house rental

Kai Nui is a stylish 2,800 sq. ft., 3 bedroom, 3 bath home located within the Lanai Villas section of the beautiful Poipu Kai Resort Community that was just refreshed in 2022! Located perfectly for those looking to walk to the beach or all of the other Poipu Kai amenities. While you cannot see the ocean horizon, you can certainly hear the sounds of the crashing surf in the distance, bringing a peaceful tranquility to the ambiance throughout. This home is the perfect family retreat and perfect for couples and friends vacationing together as it offers some versatile bedding configurations, including one screened in sleeping porch downstairs that allows you to enjoy the sounds and fragrances of our island tropics.

The open aired living room has windows all around creating lots of natural light and allowing for breezes to blow through to help keep things cool. The kitchen is newly remodeled and will make your meal preparations a dream. Built for privacy, the master bedroom is located upstairs and the 2 guest rooms are located on the lower level, each with their own bathrooms. Recently installed Air Conditioning for each bedroom for your enjoyment.

A short walk to the greenbelt path will lead you The Grand Hyatt Resort & Spa and Keoniloa Bay while going in the opposite direction will lead you to Brennecke’s Beach and Poipu Beach Park for some swimming, snorkeling and fun in the sun! 1 Cal King (master), 2 Kings, 1 full and 3 twins. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Located in a very quiet neighborhood, our family of 10 enjoyed this home for a week celebrating an anniversary. One walking path led you to Shipwreck beach and another one the opposite direction led you to the pool, tennis/pickle ball courts, and Brennecke's Beach. Beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, beach towels, ice chest, a wagon, and two bikes were all waiting for us in the garage to use and boy did we use them. Only recommendation would be to have a dining table that can accommodate 10 instead of 8.

Kai Nui was a great location, walking distance to Shipwreck and Poipu beaches. The house is very spacious for our 2 families of 8 people. Lots of beach gear available with a wagon to bring them to the beach. The kitchen was well equipped, but the kitchen table could use a few more chairs to accommodate more than 6 people. All the showers included shampoo, conditioner and body wash, which was nice to have. We would definitely recommend this house to others.

This was a beautiful home to spend our extended family vacation in. Perfect layout and the bunkbeds were great for the kids. Loved having access to extras like beach towels, beach chairs, bikes, sand toys, wagon for little kids, etc. The house is in a quiet, nice neighborhood and close to everything. The paved walking path to the pool and beach was great! Highly recommend this home and hope to stay again in the future!

This house worked great for our family of 10 ranging from 6-72 in age. Much to do in area. Really appreciated availability of beach towels and toys and snorkeling equipment. Home has an open feel with lots of windows for views and air flow. Bedrooms very comfortable.

The house was a wonderful home base for all of our adventures. We ate several meals and most breakfasts there. We enjoyed relaxing on the lanais. We loved walking on the paths to the coffee shop at the Hyatt, to watch the sunrise, to Poipu beach to swim/snorkel/watch the sunset n turtles, and to the pool. We enjoyed the restaurant right next to the pool. We admired all the beautiful flowers and plumeria trees along our walks. My son was so excited there was a lime tree in the back yard.

We had a wonderful time at Kai Nui. There were 8 of us total, 4 adults, 2 kids, and 2 teenagers. The pictures and description were accurate. The home was very clean and the island breeze was lovely with all of the windows open. The lanai was a great place to have a morning cup of coffee. The available beach gear was nice to have, although the umbrellas all could be replaced as they were either broken or barely functioning. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we would stay here again. Mahalo!

The house is beautiful. The location is within walking distance to the beach. The bedrooms and bathrooms are perfect for couples who need their own space. The attached lanai with extra sleeping is nice if you don't mind your children sleeping basically a few feet away from you. The upstairs living area/kitchen/dining area can get pretty warm as this area is not air conditioned, but opening the windows and using the screen door allows it to cool down in the evening. If you plan to be in your bedroom or out exploring during the heat of the day this really isn't an issue.

A few negatives: the dishwasher broke early in the week and wasn't fixed. Having to constantly wash and dry dishes by hand for so many people took a lot away from our free time. I know that seems like a minor detail, but it was not what we expected to do on an expensive vacation. The mattresses weren't very comfortable (but different people like different beds, so that could just be our personal preferences), but the main complaint was a lack of insulation between floors. We had to tip-toe around if anyone was sleeping. Overall, though, it's a wonderful spot to spend a week with family. Thank you for sharing your house with us.

This gorgeous house worked so well for 2 families of our family reunion group (and could work for 3 families just as well). The house was represented very well by the online photos and did not disappoint in any way. The three master bedroom suites with lanai's were separated nicely to allow for quiet and privacy from each other when needed; and the suite which had the lanai room enclosed and outfitted with bunk beds was fabulous (and cost saving) for our cousin, her husband and two children. All of us were extremely comfortable and there was so much room in the perfectly outfitted upstairs living area with lanai. With lots of windows and french doors, the house stayed nice and cool (even though we stayed in August - September) and gave us that perfect Hawaiian vacation ambiance. The kitchen was superbly outfitted with everything we needed for making our own meals. Garden Island Rentals was so attentive and checked in with us regularly, even though we had no problems or concerns; we highly recommend this house and Garden island Rentals.

Our family had three generations staying in this lovely, spacious house. Great for sunrises and sunsets on the balconies, cooking meals together in the well-equipped kitchen, dinner on the deck, and games inside. Short walks along the green belt to Brennecke’s and Poipu as well as Shipwreck Beach, with a nice assortment of beach gear available to borrow. Management was very helpful and responsive. It was a wonderful stay!

Good location for walking to nearby beaches and hiking trails. Breezes on upper level was good, but everyone used A/C in the bedrooms. Immediate minor problem with ants which was addressed by our cleaning more fully and wiping down (out) ant trails. Identified early on that driveway motion light was nonfunctional (safety issue) and damaged screens. Later identified that refrigerator water filter needed to be replaced. Texts were responded to quickly, but no action was taken over the nearly three weeks we occupied the rental. Lots of odds and ends in the garage for vacation use, but some were nonfunctional and could be eliminated.

Great location. Short walk to beach and Heritage Trail. Loved the main living area being on the 2nd floor and ability to open windows and doors to catch the ocean cooling breeze. Also great outdoor spaces. Downgraded the house a bit because of living room ceiling fan not working properly even after maintenance visit. Also freezer worked but didn't keep things completely frozen. Bikes need some attention.

It’s located in this lush green neighborhood that is even a joy to drive in and out of. The whole second floor is completely re-done and modern (not what the photos show), I imagine the bottom floor is soon to be redone as well. The garage is very spacious and fully stocked with boogie boards, pool noodles, snorkel gear, water shoes, beach towels, a wagon, cooler, kids beach toys. All the bedrooms have their own AC unit which is nice. The living room/lounging area doesn’t have AC, however the large fan there seems to move air around well...AND, if you open all the windows and patio doors in the living room, this AMAZING breeze flows through and it was seriously relaxing. The home is walking distance from Shipwreck Beach, and a very short drive to Poipu Beach, shops, restaurants, coffee, etc.The property managers were great and responsive. You will definitely not regret your stay here...dreaming of when we can stay here again!

Nice neighborhood with paths to beaches and restaurants. The Lanai makes this house. Our family made many memories there. We were surprised when we arrived and saw the house was different from the pictures, being that it was under renovation. Some good changes and some not. But none the less, a beautiful property. The lanai makes this house and made up for the uninviting and sparse family room. The Queen mattress’s need an upgrade. The management company was great and make sure to rent electric bikes (Pedego Poipu)under Kalapaki joes. That’s the best way to see the area.

Spacious Family Vacation Home in Quiet Neighbourhood and Great Location

We were traveling with 4 children ranging in age from 1 to 11 and 6 adults. This home is modern and uncluttered with ample space for families and active children. The kitchen was well equipped and had plenty of room for more than one person preparing food. The lanai off the living room was one of our favourite places to lounge outside as it was shaded and protected from the elements. The bedrooms have air conditioning and are spacious. Each main bedroom has a lovely bathroom ensuite. The master bathroom has been renovated since the photos were taken. The beds were all comfortable. There is an enclosed lanai with sleeping area off one of the lower level bedrooms. This area had decking type flooring and a window that leaked when it rained, but was a great area for the children to sleep. There also was a pack and play available for the baby. The home has plenty of beach chairs, a beach umbrella, boogie boards, sand toys and a foldable wagon which was fabulous in carting gear to and from the beach. There also were some beach cruiser bikes that we did not use. There is a washer and dryer, sink and drying rack in the garage. The dryer was broken but was replaced prior to our departure. We did discover that the smoke detectors were not functioning in the home. There also were some other minor concerns. The property managers were quick to respond to questions. There was some delay in addressing the dryer and smoke detectors, however they were addressed during our two week stay. The location of the home is in a nice quiet neighbourhood with easy walking access to both Shipwreck and Poipu beach areas. There area pool and tennis courts available on the Poipu Kai properties. Overall, I would highly recommend this property for families and I am planning to return.

The house included everything needed for three generations to have a great day at the beach! Wagon, beach towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards and beach chairs! Cooking in the kitchen was a pleasure as most things needed to do so we’re included ( knives were dull though …) I would suggest that the photos be updated on the website as the furniture has been changed and the bed configurations in each room didn’t necessarily match up with the descriptions. The grounds of the resort are lovely and it’s a fairly reasonable 10 minute walk to either the pool or the beach.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family had the most incredible vacation ever! The Kai Nui was beautiful and a perfect location! We loved having the lanai's where we spent time visiting and relaxing. A huge bathroom for each of the three bedrooms was a nice luxury. A fully stocked kitchen was great for keeping meal costs reasonable. We had breakfasts at the house,and made picnic lunches for many of the days. However, you need to eat out some meals because there are amazing restaurants, and food trucks with delicious meals. Be sure to check out Puka Dog by the beach! The grandsons loved Brennecke Beach and spent hours boogie boarding. We also spent a lot of time snorkeling as a family. Our favorite was Lawai Beach. Some of the beaches are within walking distance, and the Greenway is perfect for walking to them. The home was so well equipped for everything! ALL of our beach equipment was provided and so appreciated. We did rent some snorkel equipment, because we needed some different sizes, it was very reasonable. Clean, safe, excellent location, everything we could want in a rental home. Thank you for helping us make such precious family memories and sharing your home!
