About this cottage rental

Fully refurbished during 2008, historic property, maintaining its original period facade. Upon entering you will see the interior has been tastefully welcomed into the 21st century. Placed in the little village of Tremadog, with its choice of two pubs, and a very nice restaurant 'the square' this cottage was built 200 years ago by the men who came over from Ireland to work on the building of the cob for William Maddocks which reclaimed land from the sea for the building of Porthmadog. Welcome to Tremadog .....Maddocks town.

Fully refurbished and fitted out during 2008. Now ready for the summer season and beyond. Ideal for a family or a group of friends. Large comfortable lounge with comfortable seating for Six, Free WiFi,Sky TV and DVD,Step into the huge kitchen/diner with new fitted kitchen, and plenty of crockery, dining table and seating for six, radio/cd/cassette player.

A rear utility room with clothes horse, iron and ironing board. Ground floor toilet with w.h.b. Staircase to first floor, we have Three good sized bedrooms, One double bed to the front, the middle bedroom has bunk beds with velux window to the ceiling, the rear bedroom has twin beds, with a view of moel y gest. All bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe space. Luxury Bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle, w.c and wash basin. A digital wall safe for small valuables, input your own code.

Tremadog is a beautiful little village with the cottage located next to the square with 2 pubs, a cafe, a convenience store and a fish and chip shop. The village is a 20 min walk into the beautiful town of Porthmadog that has several large supermarkets. Would definitely stay here again

The property is a great size for a family & is well located. The property & furnishings are nice but are looking a bit tired, however, we did have a short but good stay

We enjoyed our stay. The location was great and the house is spacious. There was a very nice wood just a few minutes walk away from the property to walk the dog which was handy and it was nice being just off the village square (with a great fish and chip shop). Only downsides were the fire alarm in the kitchen was extremely sensitive and went off quite a few times and the double bed was a little small for us (both over 6 foot). But I’d definitely recommend this property, we enjoyed our three nights stay very much.

We had an amazing time- perfectly located for walking, swimming and going to the different zip worlds. Beautiful coast just minutes away. Unfortunately beds v uncomfortable, bunks v squeaky and all rooms v light so we didn’t sleep v well. A few basics like a drying up rack, tea towel and nicer crockery/cutlery would make a big difference. Broken chair leg in kitchen and I bought some new light bulbs.

Lovely property

Lovely property, well situated to explore beautiful Snowdonia. Harlech, Beddgelert, Porthmadog all within 20 minutes drive. Dog friendly but no garden and no obvious ‘short toilet’ walks for them although you could walk around the lovely square. Mick and Sue kept us up to date pre booking and shared mobile numbers with us if we needed them for anything. We would definitely return here. 👍🏻

Good location for visiting N Wales. No outside space for children to play which was disappointing. Kitchen smoke alarm extremely sensitive to slightest heat, got very annoying however, would stay again.

We stayed for 4 days. 2 adults and 3 kids. Lovely cottage, very spacious, clean with everything you need for your stay. Great location with beautiful views over mountains. White sandy beach is 9 min away. Snowdon Summit path about 35 min away, Deep Mine about 25 min away. Tesco supermarket is 5 min away, as well as Aldi and Lidl. Lovely places to eat around and much much more. We had a fantastic time and highly recommend.

My friends and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property, its situated just outside Porthmadog, the cottage is very neat and has all the facilities that guests need. We are looking forward to our trip next year and will hopefully be booking again.

The cottage was lovely and clean and there was enough room for all of us. Two friendly pubs just around the corner as well as a shop and really good fish and chip shop. We didn’t find parking a problem and would gladly book the cottage again.

Walk through the door to an amazing spacious cottage. Very clean and well presented, and a great location to visit Snowdonia National Park. There is only one bathroom, and the shower was a little lacking in H2O volume, but it just took a little longer to get ready; not really a big deal.

We stayed here for two nights. The cottage was clean and very comfortable. Almost everything you needed was provided. Shame there was no internet. One of our party was over six foot so had to duck when going through doors! Would recommend.

Dear internet if you are reading this, then please avoid this property. We stayed for two nights and we were denied our security deposit. I was told that the heating panels which were like paper thin, were stained and had to be changed. But I had checked the property inside out and I am sure everything was as they were when we checked in. So I kindly requested proofs that actual works were done on the heating panels but I have not heard from them since. I have stayed at numerous holiday houses before but incident like this has never happened to me.

We had a lovely few days in Tremadog; the house was clean and comfortable. Lots to do in the surrounding area; including castles and steam trains. There were a couple of pubs and a takeaway within a 2 minute walk with more food and drink options - including a big Tesco - a mile or so down the road in Porthmadog.

The space in the cottage for 3 adults and 3 children was very comfortable. It was a shame that more thought had not gone into equipping the kitchen for a family of 6. Distinct shortage of cooking utensils , to cook a meal for 6 was very difficult. It was also the first time that I could not find information in a rental cottage as to where to put out the rubbish, we used a bin outside but not sure if it belonged to the cottage. I did read on previous reviews that the beds were not very comfortable and I must agree, childrens were okay but not good for grown up backs. But we did all have a very enjoyable holiday.

This property was perfect for us. There was plenty of space for all of us and was nice and clean. This is located in a nice quiet village. There wasn't a high chair when we got there but this may need to be requested before arriving but this didn't affect our stay, just a note for anyone else taking a small child. Would stay here again.

The house was large (despite looking tiny from the front!), comfortable and well equipped. The owners were helpful and responsive when we had a problem. The two negatives are - uncomfortable beds, the mattresses were really cheap and simply putting toppers on wasn't enough. - paper-thin curtains, particularly in the children's room. We were lucky to have brilliant sunny weather but that just meant it was far too light in the bedrooms when trying to put children to sleep and that we all woke up at 5am!
