Walk through the front door in to this quaint and quirky beach front home in Waldport. Enjoy every aspect of the coast, from the sand dunes to the rolling waves of the Pacific Ocean, while relaxing in this two bedroom, one and a half bath whimsical retreat. This Sweet Home boasts colorful accents and promises of finding fun touches throughout.

Whimsical Dunes is a colorful and sunny single level with loft home in the Bayshore Community of Waldport. There are two comfortable bedrooms that offer king size beds that can be turned in to two twins with advance notice. Between the two bedrooms is a newly remodeled bathroom with a walk in shower that was built with no lip allowing easy access for those that need it. The loft is a perfect space to escape to enjoy a good book, look out the windows and watch for whales or tuck away the kids in their own little hideaway. In addition, there is a half bath off of the laundry room. Watch the waves or one of our spectacular sunsets from the ocean front deck, enjoy the hot tub after a day of beachcombing, or grill up some fresh fish caught from one of the fishing vessels in Newport!
*Whimsical Dunes has an EV Charging station so that you can charge at your destination- not on the highway - making this destination a home away from home for you and your EV.

The small town of Waldport is an excellent location to base all of your central coast explorations from. Guests of this home also have access to the Bayshore swimming pool on a daily fee basis. The swimming pool (open seasonally in the summer) schedule of swim times will be posted at pool entrance. Renters must provide their rental agreement and photo identification to gain access. Access may be restricted during busy times.

Sleeps up to 6 - 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Kings (that can be separated into two extra long Twin beds -- with 72 hour prior notice), and 2 twin chaise lounge, 1.5 baths.

This was a very nice house and we enjoyed our stay very much. The house showed a little wear with some worn paint in the kitchen and some stains on some of the furniture, but overall it was a great central location for our vacation with lots of things to do in nearby towns. The walk to the beach was a little difficult due to the dunes, but on the last day we finally found a boardwalk about 1/4 mile away. If we had known about that, we would have enjoyed the beach much more! We said several times that we wished there was a notebook that would have explained little details like that, how to run the hot tub, what are some good restaurants nearby, etc. There were instructions about the trash and laundry, but having it all in one central location would have been helpful.

I’ll start with the good stuff: this was a cute little place with a neat feel and great decor (really liked the art). Beach access and location was fantastic. They provided a ton of towels which was much appreciated. Also liked the availability of washer and dryer with laundry soap. The bad stuff: When we arrived, the code they had given us didn’t work and there was a brief delay getting in as the management provided us with a new code—this wasn’t a huge issue. there was a large ball of hair on the shower wall and another on the shower drain . As if this wasn’t disgusting enough, one of the bedrooms reeked of urine. It was the little area rug which I rolled up myself and removed from that room. I opened the windows and scrubbed the floor with cleaner. After a second cleaning and a day with that window open, it was tolerable. I did mention this all to the manager and there was an offer to remove the carpet but no profuse apology or offer to have someone come clean the place. There was food in the freezer that wasn’t removed from previous guests. They also didn’t provide coffee—this was the first vacation rental I had been to that didn’t provide coffee.

This is our second time staying at this property. My kid loved it so much that he was packed and ready for the trip on Monday night when we weren’t heading to the coast until Saturday afternoon. The loft is his room when we stay there and he loves everything about this place. The kitchen is easily the most well stocked of any vacation rental we’ve used to date. Everything is clean and comfortable. Host was very organized and responsive, and the welcome materials are thorough to the point that I’ve never needed to get in touch once our stay begins. Highly recommend this rental for a great beach getaway.

Stayed at Whimsical Dunes for a little mini writing retreat with my friend. We wanted a cozy place to write and we got it! The house is decorated so fun and cute with adorable colors and great artwork. The location is steps to an amazing beach, and even though it rained most of our week (forced us to stay inside and do more writing!) we did enjoy our walks when it was sunny. We brought all our food for the week and planned on cooking all our meals, but we did have trouble with the oven not working. When we notified the owners they sent someone out to look at it and while it wasn't an easy fix they did issue us a bit of a refund which was nice. The only small things we kind of struggled with were the TV was hard to figure out, there were multiple remotes and no instructions. Also the kitchen utensils and dishware could be updated, it was mostly cheap but we made it work. All in all we had a lovely stay!

My husband and I stayed for a little getaway and had a perfect time. The beach cabin is cozy, well remodeled and very comfortable. Bed was comfy, which is something most rentals lack. We squeezed in one beach walk before a massive storm hit. We did lose power, but we made the best of it. Would be a great stay for two families. Beach access is top tier.

Perfect place for a relaxing Thanksgiving getaway at the ocean. Loved the sunset view, from the deck and hot tub. Amazing selection of DVDs. The shower and tub were fun and truly luxurious. We brought wet suits and really enjoyed the easy access to the beach and waves. Thank you for the camp chairs - they were great to take in the sunset from the top of the dunes. Our pup Sebastian absolutely loved the beach! Another magical stay in Waldport - worth the drive!

Property is as advertised. They were very clean. They could use a little WD 40 on the hot tub padlock, fix the microwave since the single digit minute is hard to see, and tighten the legs on the dining room chairs since they were wobbly (my husband did some). Great supply of towels. We only used one of the beds and it was comfortable.

The kitchen and the bathroom were both amazing, and we loved sitting on the deck enjoying the view. A lot of effort has clearly gone into the home decor, it’s definitely whimsical! The house is in a good location, with a short walk to the beach. The house itself feels a bit worn and we couldn’t get the fan in one of the bedrooms to work (we had messaged them about it but didn’t hear back). The hot tub was nice to use, but it smelled strongly of chemicals and looked very worn. It was also very hot in the house. We were happy with the amount of space, the location, and how the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook. .

Lovely property a short walk over a couple dunes to the beach. The hot tub is a great amenity. I was even more stoked for the foot shower. No AC, but you don’t need it. Windows open in 65 degree July evenings made for perfect sleeping conditions. Highly recommended

The location was fantastic with easy access to a long sandy beach and an easy drive to Newport, Lincoln City, Yachats, Florence, and all of the other fun stops along 101. The house was unique. Rooms and loft area were pretty standard, although some blinds in the loft area would have been nice. Dining and living area were comfortable, but the fans didn't function, which became noticeable with the afternoon sun. The kitchen left a lot to be desired as the refrigerator door (right side) doesn't close properly unless you lift the door up as you close it. Nearly every dish or utensil we pulled out was dirty (ie, food still stuck to it as if it had been put away right after a meal), which was a pretty big turn off. Lots of DVD options for when the weather isn't great with some games and cards too. Overall, we thought it was a decent place that, with a little attention, could be great.

This house is wonderful, the property manager was great to work with and the hot tub was awesome! We enjoyed all of it and our little dog Isla also enjoyed watching the rabbits and trying to find out where they went in the dune grass! What a great place to visit, we will use them again for another vacation!

My husband and I chose this house due to the beach being right out our back door. The house was at a very nice location, and we loved the hot tub. The cleanliness of the home was not great. Carpet had dog hair all over it and underneath the couches had piles of dog hair. Tables and stands were super dusty. Windows were not clean you could see a million hand prints in every window in that house. Makes us wonder what else was not cleaned in that house. The house was not stocked either for a vacation home. We enjoyed our stay but we won’t be booking this home ever again.

We enjoyed a fantastic week at the Whimsical Dunes beach house! Check in was seamless - done on an Ipad on arrival at the house and house managers were prompt in answering a couple of questions we had before arrival. The location is perfect - just hike over the seagrass covered dune in front of the house and you are on the beach which was delightfully deserted during our stay. The beach house is charmingly decorated with an eclectic collection of art and furnishings and provides a fun, cheery atmosphere. The home is perfectly equipped with everything you'll need for your stay. Comfy beds with nice quality linens and plenty of bath towels and beach towels provided. We appreciated the ceiling fans in the main space as well as the bedrooms - nice for circulating the fresh ocean breeze throughout. The spa-like main bathroom is spacious with a shower and large soaking tub. The tile work wasn't done well and is coming apart in some areas but nothing that inhibited normal use of the bathroom. The open kitchen is stocked nicely with all the tools you'll need to cook but there is no stock of pantry items like we've found in many rentals so plan to provide everything you'll need for cooking. The front deck is perfect for catching the sunset over the ocean and the hot tub was great on the colder, stormier days. We would have liked larger mats on the inside and outside of the sliding doors to the deck to catch the sand better with frequent comings and goings from the beach. Another thing that would improve the outside experience at the home would be more deck chairs and a larger outdoor table. There were three of us staying at the house but only 2 chairs on the deck and only a small table with no dining chairs outside. Our dogs had an amazing time romping on the beach everyday and we also enjoyed some hiking nearby. It was nice to have a convenient hose on the back deck for rinsing the sand off them before they came back in the house. Overall a pretty perfect spot for our stay on the Oregon coast - our happy place! I would highly recommend a stay at Whimsical Dunes - we are hoping to return soon!

Whimsical Dunes needs a lot of TLC and a professional renovation. Bedroom windows and sliding door had no locks - just a stick to prevent opening. Sliding door track was gunked up with sand so it was extremely difficult to open and close. Bathroom was a DIY disaster - floor tiles and shower tiles were loose - missing grout and in some places slathered in grout. The floor tiles moved when you walked on them. To get hot water in the bathroom, you needed to run the tap in the kitchen first. The hot/cold water lever for the kitchen faucet are on backwards. The ceiling fans in the bedrooms have never been cleaned. The ceiling fan in the living room doesn't work. You need 3 remote controls to watch TV in the living room - 1 for cable, 1 for TV, and 1 for audio. You needed 2 remote controls to watch TV in the bedrooms. No closets in the bedrooms, but there are 4 chairs to plop your clothes onto. The stairs to the beach have loose boards and the concrete block landing is falling apart because the driftwood retaining isn't the proper material. There's a patio table but the vinyl Adirondack chairs are the wrong height, so you can't eat a meal outside. The one cool thing was the outside shower/hose with hot & cold taps to rinse off sandy feet and paws after a relaxing walk on the beach. Sweet Homes was organized in sending information on polices and rules, but we couldn't find any operating guides for how to use the hot tub or TV remotes or how to get hot water. No instructions on running the dishwasher or stripping the beds. We found a sign in the laundry room instructing not to wash the towels. My husband called Sweet Homes to ask how to turn on the TV and told them about the sliding door and bathroom and they said they knew and the owner would fix it when the season slowed down. I think Sweet Home and the owner should lower the price of the nightly rental. This place was overpriced, overvalued and bathroom was not safe. We won't be back. Hugely disappointed.

This place was so cute. I love the design of the home but when we weren’t able to check in a little earlier due to cleaning between reservations I was expecting more attention to cleanliness. The 1 shower was less than desirable, sort of slimy and black gunk all around. There was lots of dust on the wall and headboard of our bed too. They did have a really fun selection of DVDs and we had fun with the board games. Hot tub was very nice to have also. I would not rent this property again given the cleaning issue.

This was our second stay at Whimsical Dunes, and we're already strategizing for our next trip. We love the open floor plan, the comfy beds, speedy wifi, the spa-like bathroom, and the lovely deck outside. We spent almost our entire trip on the deck, gazing at the ocean or soaking in the hot tub. We were fortunate to catch the super blood moon eclipse, and felt like we had the entire beach to ourselves. When neighbors arrived for the holiday weekend, they were nice and remembered us from our last stay, which was sweet. It's such a great location on the coast, with so many great places to explore nearby, but honestly, we prefer to just hang out at the house and enjoy the peace and quiet. I can't wait to go back!

We had a great time at Whimsical Dunes! My in-laws were in town from Connecticut and it was their 3rd time on the Oregon Coast. The house had a great open floor plan and excellent beach access. Todd was easy to communicate with. The kitchen was listed as "stocked with the basics" but we found that it was well-stocked for our needs. The only things that we found needing improvement were the time it took to get hot water (they have a smaller water heater) and a bit more information about the number of steps going to the beach- it was a little harder for our elderly dog to get out the back door to use the bathroom. Neither of these things were major enough in our opinion to detract from our stay. We would definitely book Whimsical Dunes again!

The house is perfectly located on a beautiful stretch of beach. Loved the interior. Kitchen cookware/utensils could be cleaner, but I find that to be the case at many rentals. The home was just the right size for our family of 5. We spent a day in Newport and a day in Florence renting ATVs near Oregon Dunes National Park. We loved our vacation and would stay again.
