The apartment is annexed to the owners house situated in the countryside outside the town of Kilkeel. It is very well laid out and had a safe enclosed area for our dog. There is outside area is perfect for relaxing and we were lucky to have the perfect sunny weekend to be able to enjoy it. Guests can also use the well tended garden with bbq, vegetable patch, hammocks and badminton net. Although we are reasonable badminton players the wind defeated our attempts on this occasion. The apartment itself is spacious with a very well equipped kitchen. The owner had kindly left us milk, home made wheaten bread and plum jam. There is parking outside the apartment door.
The main downside for us was the lack of TV in the living area. We like to relax watching TV together in the evenings after being out all day and we really missed having this option. I messaged the owner who said he would have provided one but he was away for the weekend. TVs in the bedrooms are an option for guests with that preference.

Welcoming hosts who treated us to home made treats and allowed us to use their garden as well as our own outside space.
Spotlessly clean with great shower. Our dog was welcomed inside and out of the property which is a real bonus as we came to the Mournes to hike.

The accommodation was perfect. Sue was very welcoming and made us feel very much at home. The freshly made loaf of brown bread and homemade jam was a lovely touch. The location of the property was ideal for touring the area. We really enjoyed our stay at A Fourteen

It was perfectly situated to explore the North coast, and is very well equipped for a family that preferred to cook rather than eat out. We had use of the vegetable garden to dig out our own spuds or whatever veg was in season, not to mention the free range eggs Sue and Graham were excellent hosts
Absolutely no complaints 👏👏

The apartment was decorated lovely and was very modern. It was also cosy and homely. Sue had left us homemade soda bread, scones and jam and eggs from her chickens. It was such a lovely gesture and really put a smile on our face after traveling for over 3 hours from Wexford. The garden is beautiful and so are the surrounding views of the mountains. Couldn't ask for more for a beautiful weekend away, would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Newry and is also close to Carlingford as you can get the ferry across from Greencastle.

Everything, ease of access, Sue was there to welcome us and give local information. After that our stay was totally private even though the apartment is adjacent to the house where Sue and Graham live. Lovely homemade bread and jam along with eggs, milk and condiments provided. Wood burning fire created a lovely atmosphere. The apartment is decorated to a high standard and spotless. AND dogs are allowed. Other providers take note, you CAN have a beautiful place to suit all while accommodating pets for people like us who don't like to leave our dogs behind. We also appreciated the use of the car parking pass for Silent Valley. A Fourteen is highly recommended.
A Fourteen was perfect for us. Living area would be a bit small for a family of more than 5.

It was a quiet and relaxing stay with a luvly view of the Mournes. A fourteen was clean and well decorated. Sue is really luvly and had left us home baked wheaten and shortbread as well as milk and even eggs from the chickens, they were really tasty. It had everything we needed and Molly our wee Cavachon loved the beach that Sue recommended.
Nothing we didn't actually like however we do prefer the TV to be in the living room as that's how we relax as a family not a great fan of tvs in the bedroom. If we had of been there longer we would have asked for one as advised in the book. There wasn't really any cupboard space for food however it would only be a problem if it was a longer stay or more people staying.

Beautiful location at the foot of the Mournes. Sue was very hospitable and welcoming. Ideal family getaway. Especially loved the garden with hammocks, chicken coup which provided fresh eggs for breakfast. Greeted with freshly home baked wheaten bread and shortbread always a winner. We would love to come back.
