Cosy once you get the place warm . Would come again
The TV is old and dated. We actually had to buy a TV from Tesco for the weekend as we struggled to even change the channel.
Plus my son found it difficult to connect his PS5 to it. £150 will get you a half decent smart TV a small price to pay given the price to rent this place . Apart from that no other complaints

Location and lovely big kitchen with table and space
Towels were poor; very thin, didn’t match, weren’t big enough.
Carpet edges were ragged and lifting in places
Paintwork was in a poor state of repair with scuffing and marks, also splashes on woodwork. To get into the property you had to walk through someone else’s garden and her dog would bark aggressively every time we walked through: we didn’t see it but we heard it every time.
Some of the glassware was dirty and had to be washed before we could use it.
Didn’t use the sitting room at all because the decor didn’t match - too many colours, it wasn’t a relaxing room.
Fridge door didn’t close properly, fortunately my husband is an engineer and rehung the door which stopped the compressor from running all the time.
Bathroom lights weren’t as shown on the website - only the blue light showed when cold water was running, the red light didn’t work at all.
One of the knobs on a drawer in the dressing room came off in my hand when I tried to open the drawer.
One tea towel for 4 adults over 4 days was not enough. The place didn’t feel cared for.

Lovely quaint cottage with private, secure garden. Modern kitchen and bathroom with all you need and more. Location is great as it's just around the corner from lots of shops and pubs in the market square but is quiet being set back from the road.

Comfortable beds, good location, good shower
Stained carpet in the lounge, window needs cleaning in the lounge, needs decoration in places, wardrobe in the smaller bedroom needs finishing and the most frustrating of all lack of crockery.

Beautiful cottage, lovely garden. Amazing central location. Hosts 'virtually' were very pleasant.
Have to go through someone else's garden to get to the property. Surface clean of property, but not a deep clean. Found debris from previous occupants.
Toilet needs fixed, made a constant noise, like it had just been flushed. Only one window in the main bedroom opens.

The cottage it’s self inside was clean & cosy had pretty much everything you need.
Extremely let down by the next door neighbour who on a few occasions spoke to my husband rudely for no reason, their dog barked relentlessly and on our second night at 23:30 my in laws where saying good bye in the garden, my father in law can be quite loudly spoken, they where there for all of 10 minutes as they had walked up from the pub with us. There was no music, no groups and no shouting I did not think the neighbour would approach us whilst saying our good byes to tell us the noise was unacceptable.
We decided to leave two nights early as we all felt
Uncomfortable in the property due to next door. So would not book again and would advise not to book if you are wanting a more welcoming and friendly feel on your stay.
Messaged owners 48 hours ago when we left the property explaining our early departure and only just got a reply with bank details nothing else however when messaging to check in early replied in no time.
They also smoke outside which then drifts into to cottage didn’t quite bother us but may bother others, if it had nicer neighbours or located else where would be an ideal holiday home such a shame!
No welcome pack or heating instructions.

The location of Fryers Cottage to Richmond town centre is excellent. Despite the cottage being so close to the market place, it is hidden away so very quiet.
A little more attention to detail; more kitchen equipment and better quality linen would improve the overall experience.

in a great place. spacious and well equipped.
even in July with 20+ degree temps it was cold inside. access through next door’s yard is odd.

The location was perfect - literally two minutes walk into the centre of town, yet the cottage itself was quiet and peaceful. The garden is a big plus point and has chairs and a table and plenty of space for kids/dogs. Well equipped kitchen with all the facilities. Very clean and well cared for property. Owners were lovely and contact with them was great - very helpful.
A few more plates in the kitchen and a few more towels would have been useful

The location was perfect. A car park is just across the road too.
Richmond is lovely town with a lot of character and situated perfectly to be a hub for days out in the amazing countryside.
Unfortunately the cottage is a little tired. The pictures on the site are clearly a little out of date.
The bedding and towels provided were thankfully fresh and clean, but the kitchen floor and worktop certainly weren't......bread crumbs under the toaster etc.
The bedroom rug has a dirty stain on it
A filter light was on the fridge door which meant no ice..Why have that if clearly not available ?
It was frustrating too that there was no information on the heating or WiFi.. so actually the cottage was cold at night.

Excellent location and the small garden was very useful as we were travelling with a dog.
Cosy cottage. WiFi was great to have too.

Great dog friendly well equipped cottage in the centre of Richmond. Comfortable and a good size with a well equipped kitchen.
The heating struggled to get the cottage warm, although we were in the middle of a very cold spell.

Fryers cottage was a beautiful place to stay felt
So homely and suitable for my 2 young boys.
Richmond is such a lovely town to explore would definitely be back.
It was cold at night as the heating must be on timer so also needs more glasses.

location was convenient
When we arrived it was freezing cold, the boiler was set for the wrong time so the timer didn’t work correctly. Even when on the kitchen diner was too cold. Mattress in master bedroom was uncomfortable without a topper and could have been at least a king size. Most of the crockery was chipped. Bathroom smelt of damp, needs investigating. Towels were worn and stained.
Garden was nice but a bit weird walking through someone else’s to get to it.

Very good location.
The property wasn't very welcoming, it was cold and there were no instructions for heating etc. A welcome pack would have been appreciated, tea, coffee, milk etc. There was a lack of utensils in the kitchen and black mold in the bathroom. A shame as this could be really lovely accommodation.

This is a fabulous little gem of a cottage close to the centre of town, but off of the main roads, being up a little alleyway. The location isn’t obvious and perhaps a What Three Words location would be helpful. The area was very quiet.
The cottage was clean and the bed very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment although a few more glasses would be useful for a full booking of 4 people.
Parking is available in a nearby car park and was reasonable at £4.50 /day (a cheaper rate is available for weekly stays) and you can pay via the Ringo App.
The lighting outside the front of the house didn’t seem to work. An information folder with various instructions like boiler operation (the heating wasn’t on when I arrived) WiFi code and manuals for the cooker would have been useful. A couple of coat hooks in the bathroom would be useful.

Everything that was needed included, fantastic stay.

Fantastic location, kitchen well equipped, great outdoor space to sit in the sun.
Bath towels were stained and one of the twin beds had hair in it when we checked in.

overall appearance of the garden was good but was let down by weeds, dead hanging baskets, un clean patio furniture ,On entering the property there was an overwhelming smell of damp ,Lots n Lots of cobwebs ,fridge freezer nice and big but sadly the freezer was so iced up fridge not really getting cold and filter needed changing. .lots of dust and cobwebs on the bottom of the fridge freezer vent, Kitchen sink plug outlets needed cleaning. .bleach needed. .Certain areas of the property had mould showing .entrance wall.. bathroom ect..Touching up needed as well throughout the whole property. Toilet seat needs tightening ..But difficult to get to. thick black mould in corners of bath. we have outlined a lot but these, are easy fixes and would make your property excellent once done. Not enough information for the Wi-Fi and more information in regards to finding the property as sat nav couldn't pick up name of property ... i would suggest adding Fryers yard and add that its opposite the cricket ground and next to morrisons petrol station . There is short and long stay parking signed posted well but paying £4.50 for ten hours is expensive ... more information needs to be provided about purchasing a weekly ticket for £15 via the council.

this property is situated in an excellent location. it has every home comfort and a homely feel
gas hob needs attention-we only found this out when making breakfast, thought we’d switched off the gas, only to find the knob broken -the off position was way out of the markings on the actual hob

We loved the location. Cottage was very cosy and it was nicely decorated. Nice secluded garden that the dog loved. You had to pass through someone else's garden but it wasnt an issue at all. We found the cottage close to the shops and restaurants. It was very quiet and peaceful.
There was no frying pan and we couldnt get the grill to work as one of the knobs was loose so we didn't know what setting it was on. I read other reviews that others received a welcome pack but we didn't so may be it was because we were only there three days. There was no visitors book so unable to leave a review. We had no major issues with the proprty we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would stay again in the future. No parking but it didn't cause us any problems. It's easy enough to park up to unload your cases and again when leaving the property.

the location was excellent. downside was no parking on site. the property was well equipped and very comfortable. only negative was that the frying pan was burnt so unable to use it
having to go through someone else’s garden to get to the property. having said that it did not cause us a problem

My husband and I have recently stayed at Fryers Cottage and had a perfect holiday. The accommodation was beautiful outside and inside. It was immaculate and very cosy. I loved the bathroom and the giant bath with the taps that lit up when running my bath. My husband struggles to walk and has a stick but found the walk into the town centre of Richmond. The lady next door was lovely and helpful and the owners of Fryers Cottage were lovely too.
