I would recommend this hostel as a place to stay, but unfortunately, my experience with some of the staff was very disappointing. Having lived in Japan for over 10 years, I know Japanese hospitality and customer service very well, so I was honestly shocked by how some of the staff treated me. First, after paying for my stay through Agoda, I expected everything to be settled. However, when I arrived, I was unexpectedly asked to pay an additional tax. I found this frustrating, especially since I wasn’t expecting any extra charges. The worst experience was with my locker. The staff assigned me a locker, and I put my clothes inside. To my surprise, the next day I discovered that someone had removed my clothes from it without my permission! This was extremely stressful and unacceptable. What disappointed me even more was the staff’s reaction. They barely apologized and acted as if removing a guest’s personal belongings from a locker was completely normal. I believe the owner should pay more attention to who they hire and how their staff treat guests. Some staff members were genuinely nice, but others were extremely unprofessional. The hostel itself is a good place to stay, but the poor customer service really ruined my experience. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and improves the way guests are treated.
