We offer a beautiful two bedroom, one bath home on prestigious Opal Cliff Drive.
Vaquita House is a remodeled cottage steps from Privates Beach, our neighborhood beach. (Our county vacation permit is # VRAB00010.) The beach is open during daylight hours, providing access to this unique beach and great uncrowded surf spot. A seven minute walk along the ocean will take you to shopping and dining in Capitola Village and awesome Capitola Beach. Famous surf spots the Hook and Pleasure Point are also just a short walk away. A surfer's paradise; walk to your own break. Surfboad racks are right outside your door in a secure patio area for easy access.
Vaquita House comes with a full kitchen, stainless steel appliances, and everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal right at home. The house has hardwood floors in the main living space and carpeted bedrooms. Island themed art work fills the house with a laid back vacation feel. Both the queen bed (with organic mattress) and the twin-bed room (also organic) access the private landscaped patio through their own sliding glass doors. Relax in the sun with the outdoor dining table surrounded by flowers and hummingbirds. The patio deck is perfect for barbecuing on the grill or relaxing with a glass of wine.
Less than a ten minute walk to Capitola Wharf, Capitola Village, Capitola Beach, Pleasure Point, great shopping, and fine dining. Vaquita House is a short drive to downtown Santa Cruz and the beach boardwalk, and 35 minutes to Monterey. Perfect for a romantic getaway or family beach vacation.

We had a fantastic stay at this cottage and would definitely book it again! The home was clean, cozy, and very welcoming from the moment we arrived. It was exactly as described and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.The location was one of the best features. It was just a short walk to the beach and centrally located, making it easy to explore nearby towns, restaurants, shopping, and other attractions without spending too much time driving.The host was wonderful—friendly, responsive, and easy to communicate with throughout the booking process and our stay. Any questions we had were answered quickly, which made everything stress-free.We also appreciated the peaceful neighborhood, comfortable beds, and thoughtful amenities that made the cottage feel like a home away from home. If you're looking for a clean, well-maintained, and conveniently located place to stay, we highly recommend this property.

My new wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay here. Place was well taken care of, especially during this COVID-19 season. Landlord even provided us a bottle of wine to celebrate our new marriage. FYI, some dishes and utensils weren’t cleaned properly, French press seem to be broken, and the tea kettle had mineral buildup when we arrived.House was still a great layout and comfortably decorated for our stay. We enjoyed the private beach access, and would gladly stay here again if we were in the area.
