About this apartment rental
Located in Sestiere Castello, this cozy apartment is perfect to live a local experience in Venice. Surrounded by a quiet area, the position offers the benefit to reach San Mark Square and Biennale in a few minutes by foot.
The apartment is modern and elegant. It can accomodate 4 people and it is well equipped with everything you need for your stay: independent heating, air conditioning, sheets and towels, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave oven, WI-FI and TV. It is located on the first floor with an independent entrance on a little typical venetian “calle”. The apartement is composed of a comfortable kitchen with table, chairs and a sofa, two bedrooms: the first one with a french bed and the other one with two single beds, both with a private bathroom.
The location is close to of the vaporetto stops (a public boat transportation) along the Rive, called San Zaccaria, that gives you the chance to reach all the different parts of the city and islands. From this point of the city you can admire the skyline of “La salute” church and the sunset over the city. Magic! The Sestiere is full of boutiques, restaurants, cafes and “cichetterie” where you can taste the typical venetian food and aperitif. You can discover the history visiting San Zaccaria Church and Pietà church as well as a lot of famous buildings around like Palazzo Zorzi and the mervellous Palazzo Ducale. You can not miss the visit at Arsenal of Venice Biennale on the way to Biennale Garden.

The apartment is very comfortable. The bedrooms are large and the apartment is well maintained. The location was great for visiting the Biennale. Communication with the manager was great. It is in very central neighborhood with many good cafes and restaurants nearby (including a great pizza place at the end of the street). I would be very happy to stay here again.

Overall the property lacked some amenities. First, it's in a great location. Close to the Zacharia vaporetto stop and near St. Mark's. It's on a little alley off another small alley, so it's quiet if only the neighbors hot water heater didn't groan every 15 minutes. There is mold in both bathrooms. They could use much better sheets and more comfortable mattresses. To me the bed is one of the most important things in a rental and these mattresses were very hard. The sheets were so rough you couldn't use them. The kitchen should have a hot water kettle, toaster and coffee machine. They have plenty of cabinet space to store them. There is a small dishwasher, which was useful. And a 2-burner gas stove that worked well but there were no small pots with lids for boiling water. The property was relatively inexpensive compared to others in the area but you get what you pay for. Be warned the trash system is complicated in Venice. Not impossible but you have to be aware of the rules. I would stay here again if they made improvements.
