Nice cottage in a great location but too many foreign visitors crowding the town.
Location was excellent and parking a lot easier than expected as a few comments mentioned how narrow the approach to the parking space was but as long as you are not driving a huge vehicle it’s fine. We had Sunday lunch in The Old Manse Hotel and although it’s part of a big brewery chain the food was first class!
Nothing relating to the cottage but the town was utterly swamped with foreign tourists - so much so it was genuinely challenging to simply walk through the town. This may have even due to the time of our visit (27 - 30 December) but we managed to get away from the crowds by taking the lovely walk to Lower Slaughter which is a stunning Cotswold hamlet.

Charming cottage in great location. Customer service ok at best.
The location was perfect. Well within walking distance to anything that you need while visiting Bourton. A very charming cottage in a beautiful location. The kitchen was perfect!
We were surprised that there was hair in the bathroom sink drain when we checked in. Also, the carpet is well worn, but I kind of get that because of the weather. My biggest issue was I emailed the host several times before we checked in and never got a reply, When we got there (which was difficult to find with the directions…) we couldn’t get the door to open. We tried and tried. Went next door to a business and they said it was probably swollen from the rain. I called the number on the reservation and it rang and rang and then put me in a loop for over 5 min. I hung up and tried again and could not get an answer. Finally called back and selected “new reservation “. Spoke to a guy that found out I was having an issue with an existing reservation and promptly hung up on me. Mind you, I’m standing out in pouring rain and it was very cold. Called back again and selected “if you’re an owner and interested in us representing your property”…I knew someone in sales would answer and they did. I explained my situation. Told the lady I was suffering out in the cold rain and she told me “to calm down and “suffering” was a strong word”. My head almost exploded but I kept my cool. I simply wanted someone to help us get into the cottage. She was finally able to call and get a couple of ladies to come over and help us but we were in by then. They need to give those peoples numbers as the contact not some random corporate number where it’s nearly intro get assistance. Lastly, if you can park in that driveway in the back, then congratulations, you’re Houdini. I ended up parking in the public parking lot, which worked out great. So, property was nice,,,,the corporate company not so much.

Great location
Loved the location, the kitchen and the conservatory. The entire garden was delightful.
The kitchen teapots and French Press were not clean when we arrived. The top of the stove was greasey. There was no welcome basket as mentioned in the email and welcome book. The living room was comfortable, but was in desperate need of a thorough cleaning, especially the carpet. The bed was very small, but so was the room. The alleyway was so incredibly tight and so was the garage. We and others struggled a lot with parking. We ended up scraping the side of the rental car trying to park and then could barely get the doors open. I understand the circumstances, but we were not told that a very small car was the only way to get in and parked safely.

Lovely cottage but bring your own loo roll and tea towels
The cottage is a beautiful old building and full of charm. It is warm and cosy, and the bathroom has separate bath and shower. Its location is excellent, right on the High Street with parking at the back and a lovely view of the church tower from the back garden (take earplugs if you’re a light sleeper because the clock chimes every 15 minutes). The only downside was that the cottage wasn’t very well provisioned. There were no tea towels in the kitchen and there was only one toilet roll provided for a 4 person booking over 3 days.

Lovely 6 day stay in Bourton on the Water
Excellent location with easy access to the town. Lovely character features. The cottage was well appointed with everything you need. Lovely conservatory area which we enjoyed our meals in. The location is A plus! Church next door with lovely church bells which added to the charm. We had a very enjoyable stay! The loft area was very cute but not really suitable for adults due to access and bed size more suited for children. Also, The driveway is tight! And so is the garage. Only suitable for a small car. We opted not to park the hire car there as we had a larger SUV. We parked our car in paid parking in town as street parking is almost impossible. This is noted in the booking so we are aware in advance. This did not detract from our stay and in my opinion not a negative (however noted for consideration) as these cottages were built before cars and they have done the best they can to provide a parking option.

Bourton mini break.
The location was superb and we were lucky with the weather.
The information manual said there would be milk and juice in the welcome pack, and bread in the freezer... there was not and that the central heating boiler would be on, it was but the heating wasnt and it was quite chilly upon arrival at 4.10pm; its always nice after a journey to walk into somewhere toasty warm. The cottage would benefit from some toiletries being left to use, there was hand-wash but nothing more. It would also be good if the information file was updated. It is outdated and could do with a good re write. The parking is tight but this is noted however someone had decided to park where we were due to so we couldn't if we wanted too... we used the British Legion car park. It would also be good to note the proximity of the church as the church bells chime all night so if you are a light sleeper this could ruin a holiday.
