The friendly staff, the big comfy bed
I thought the kids activities were lacking compared to other resorts in the area

Great room cleaned everyday
Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff
Particularly Ju who organised the bike trip and helped us get to the golf course.
Pool was lovely
Bit remote - you could go a bit stir crazy if you didn’t leave the resort
Drinks a bit pricey- we didn’t got all inclusive

Kalima Resort and Villas Khao Lak is a fantastic escape and an ideal place to truly unwind. We stayed in a private pool villa, which was exceptional—spacious, beautifully designed, and offering complete privacy. It was easily one of the highlights of our stay.
The resort’s private beach is absolutely stunning and truly special: pristine, quiet, and perfect for relaxing away from the crowds. Combined with warm, attentive service and a peaceful atmosphere throughout the property, Kalima delivers a refined and memorable experience.
A wonderful stay and a resort we would happily recommend and return to.
The lack of proper lighting in the bathroom

Everything perfect, we had a great and wunderful time at Kalima.
nothing to mention.

Very nice property with a nice rural jungle feel to it. Whilst Food and drink was more expensive than other restaurants around, the quality was good. Location is good for trips. Iced coffee bar at breakfast was great.
Location is 15-20 drive to Khao Lak Center and Bang Niang, but shuttles are provided 4 times per day. Breakfast could have had more variety.

Rooms were spacious and food in restaurants good quality.
Food and drink not cheap. Hotel looks quite tired in places. Private beach at hotel not great. Better to walk ten minutes to local beach for food drink at much better value and nicer beach to swim in.

It’s has an amazing view and facilities
The crew on the reception was rude on the phone when I ask for things , actually started to fight with me over the phone , when you book a 5 star hotel you expect the best. Ruin my entire stay , wouldn’t recommend.

The beach at Kalima is gorgeous, especially during the sunset hours. It was never too busy on the beach during our stay in November. Great place to relax. The spa is very good. The central pool is nice, the kids part is separate from the adults part so that everyone can be at the pool conveniently. Most of the staff are well trained, very friendly and do their best to make guests enjoy their stay. The shuttle service from and to Phuket airport was of great help to me, and also the hotel shuttle to Khao Lak is very convenient.

Beautiful resort. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cleaning, new towels and water every day. Get given pool towels, beach bag, sandals to use whilst there. Food is lovely. Beautiful lake where you can kayak and then walk over a bridge to get onto the private beach. Badminton, volleyball, darts, football etc near the beach area. Small shop, currency exchange and restaurant next to the hotel
Not much to do in the area. Free shuttle bus back and forth into the town/bang niang market 4 times a day which takes about 15/20 minutes.

Great facilities, great breakfast and very friendly staff.
The prices of food and beverages are higher than we expected

The staff were polite and friendly
There were several cockroaches in our room. We had to ask to be moved to a different room however they did not clean the room properly. The location is not ideal, you have to take a taxi to go everywhere and cannot walk and go as there isn;t anything nearby!

Great pool and water play for kids. Great breakfast - lots of choice. Nice kids room with soft play and toys. Restaurants had nice food. Quiet location which was ideal for us. Rooms were spacious and enough space for our son to stay on the sofa and baby in a travel cot.
The access to the beach by the hotel was over a dangerous bridge with steps up to it and no safety rails which was not ideal with a pram and a toddler in tow.

Breakfast was fabulous. Sports activities and fitness exercises were great and staff very attentive. Room was excellent
No evening music or entertainment at night.we enjoy dancing and this was not available.
Children were in the Adults only swimming pool at the main restaurant, and staff ignored this. We had to ask the children to leave.
Stray cats were in the restaurant at night. This is a health issue.
The beach was fabulous however as you walked south on the Navy beach there was so much rubbish. It would not hurt the resort to clean this rubbish as the beach is still part of the resort experience.

We loved the Japanese restaurant eventhough it was pricy. The breakfast was average for a 5 star hotel. Plenty to eat but nothing special.
The fried eggs were always cold as they were served on a room temperature platter.

Excellent breakfast and service, good gym and a great pool.
A bit far away from the town. Great restaurants in town, especially Pam’s

Rooms were great, and kids facilities were good. Large resort with many different activities.
The resort is quite isolated, which means the beach is quite private, but not a great beach and adjacent bay is inaccessible. The shuttle bus only drops guests along the the main road in the village far from the beach, and at times the market isn't even open. They could be more considerate and drop people at Khao Lak Beach. The restaurant closed at inconvenient times (10:30 to 12:30pm) and refused to accommodate families with kids that need food in-between.

It’s quiet.
We booked a 2bedroom suite but had to change room as the cupboard hinges in the first room was falling off. It was very dangerous and the water pressure was very low. They gave us another room and was much better but the drainage flow in the master bathroom is so slow that it flooded the entire bathroom after 5 mins. The hanging light in the living room was hazardous, unless you are a kid, you will keep knocking into it. There was free WiFi but it was terrible. There was only WiFi in the bedroom and nothing in the living room at all. Connections in the tv was terrible. Could barely watch a movie.

I have only one word to say - WOW
By far the best resort I have EVER been! So beautiful, the staff are so nice and friendly, the villa was amazing, nice big private beach, lots of activities.
The restaurants at the resort are a bit expensive to other resorts, but they are of a very high standard

Great place for R&R. We had a pool villa that was next to the children’s pool. Quiet when we had the doors closed, and sounds of joy as we sat outside with the periodic big bucket dump. We used the Kayaks and tried a paddle board for the first time (fun). Great breakfast included and we ate dinners at a little family Thai restaurant just outside the resort’s entrance.
For older guests (with dimming eyes) the room was a bit dark at night. But during the day our room was filled with sunlight.

The place is magical, a magical atmosphere right in the heart of the jungle (we also saw a harmless snake). Excellent service, delicious breakfast
The location is not the best, far from the center of shops.

We spent 6 nights and 7 days at Kalima Resort, and every moment was simply wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with genuine kindness and warm hospitality, making us feel right at home.
Each morning began with a delicious and diverse breakfast spread that offered something for everyone — a perfect way to start the day.
We took full advantage of the resort’s facilities: the serene private pool, the vibrant main pool, the fun kids pool, a well-equipped fitness center, and the beautiful beach nearby.
Traveling with my mom, my wife, and our daughter, I was especially grateful for the thoughtful amenities that made our stay comfortable and memorable for three generations of our family.
Kalima gave us not just a vacation, but a treasure trove of memories we’ll cherish forever. I can’t help but smile whenever I think of that incredible week. We’ll definitely be back.

The bar is very very very expensive

Amazing service - staff go above and beyond. A genuine willingness to provide.
Delicious food and drink, both at the pool bar, breakfast buffet and dinner restaurant.
10/10 cleanliness everywhere, from the room to the public facilities.
Beautiful decor throughout the hotel.
For once, I have no complaints.

The decor and furnishings of our accommodation was excellent, accommodation was spacious and inviting, the private pool was perfect.
The free Thai massage was a welcome bonus.
We opted of a floating breakfast, which was an additional cost which was excellent value.

Room is big, beatiful design
Pool is not private at all, room is not clean, there was dust everywhere. Noises can be heard. Resturants food is not good and most of the staff don't speak english.
Also I used their laundry service and they were late for 4 hours.
I checked out 3 days earlier because of that and moved to another hotel. I don't recommend
6.0 / 10.0
The breakfast and restaurant food was very nice and we liked the room. We also liked the beach area attached to the resort. The staff seemed friendly on the most part.
I wouldn’t say this is 5 star.
There appeared to be 1 bar that was close to the pools and it was a swim up bar and we didn’t have our swimming stuff on when we arrived, thought this was a bit daft. They also have a happy hour which is an obscure offer where you buy 2 get 1 free. Who gets the free drink if you are a couple? 🙄. This wasn’t explained to us by the barman and he seemed to think we were cheating the system and decided he would embarrass me in front of other guests at the pool when I went and asked for the free drink. He also told me I couldn’t have Diet Coke in my cocktail. Very odd. He didn’t understand and I think he was a bit simple.
I’m not usually “one of those people” but I did complain on this occasion to the manager who ended up being an intermediary between us and the barman. Rather than just honouring the free drink that probably cost them 20p a huge discussion had to ensue. I gave up using their pool bar after this. I think a bit of staff training on how to deal with minor disputes is needed. It didn’t need a huge discussion and a discussion on basic maths.
The furniture on the beach is tired and the loungers don’t have cushions. Everything looks dirty. Yes you kind of expect it in Thailand but you maybe shouldn’t be classed as 5 star.
I wouldn’t go back, there’s plenty more resorts to choose from.

Extremely clean hotel with spacious rooms
A bit remote, isolated from the village but perfect if that’s what you are looking for

nice friendly staff, changing breakfast offers, special app for the hotel and service, lot of activities possible for kids
no possibility to see the purchased food and drink bills in the app to keep an eye and overview about it during the stay.

it’s a beautiful place, stuff is very caring and sensitive. the food is amazing. the hotel provides shuttle service for the guests and it’s very comfortable and productive 🥰
we upgraded to a better room with private pool but it’s not so private. cars and people are passing through the “private pool “. the original room was with a balcony so I guess better privacy but no pool.

The staff were very friendly
Drinks and food were very overpriced plus tax and service charges! Pool wasn’t the best. Room was not the one we had booked!
4.0 / 10.0
Lovely beach via a short walk. Children loved the slides in the kids pool. Nice bath in room. Staff were friendly.
Style over substance, which photographs well, but if you look closely at almost everything it’s either worn, damaged or dirty. Our room, a 2 bed pool suite, was dark and had a strong musty/damp smell. We only stayed 2 nights and had maintenance issues twice (back door wouldn’t lock, and toilet wouldn’t flush). Lots off mozzies in room. Breakfast is chaotic and we struggled to get a table (albeit at peak). Generally it’s a big busy beast of a resort which unfortunately just isn’t our idea of a holiday.

Words can’t sum up how gorgeous this place is! We’ve been in Thailand for 3 months now and this is the best resort we have stayed at. Some things to mention that made our stay exceptional:
- Kayaking and seeing the nature and elephants 🐘 for free!
- The best breakfast you’ll find at a resort
- The best fitness facilities including Thai boxing and fitness classes
- a private beach that has the most incredible sunsets
- we asked for a room near the lake as it’s more peaceful and we weren’t disappointed.
- all the staff are genuinely so friendly
- the watermelon smoothie from their on site cafe is out of this world and served with a smile
That I didn’t book longer - so we’ll be back :)

The size of bed
I could hear kids cried next to my room no 1102 at 8-9 pm. The location of hotel room and access pool face to the breakfast area where the crowd is noisy. It is awkward to sit at my pool while people there look at us and can't find a peace. The breakfast area should be away from the pool area where we want to rest or sun bath at the pool quietly.
9.0 / 10.0
breakfast quality of food and variety, location on the beach and yet quiet, shuttle to town worked well, loved walking to other local restaurants and use laundromat across the street,
pool access room is excellent
coffee carafe in the room was inadequate, it broke when we went to empty the coffee grounds into the garbage, front staff was charging us for the broken glass but we refused to pay, not our fault its so breakable,

Its a beautiful resort with lovely facilities. We originally booked a Two Bed Suite with a Pool, which was very nice but just a bit dark, a little smaller than expected and close to the main pool - so we upgraded to a Two Bed Villa with a Pool and WOW it was AMAZING! Well worth the extra money - we felt like we were living like the rich and famous. The private villa pool was great size (we spent hours in it!), the villa huge and the bathrooms and facilities just exceptional. Highly recommend the villas if you can, worth every cent!
Two very small things - It would have been good to have a TV in the main area (living area) of the villa. There was a lovely comfortable couch there and it would have been good to be able to have sat as a family and watched tv or a movie rather than having to watch in the bedrooms. Also the resort is more isolated than I realised (my fault for not checking) and required a bus or taxi to get it and out of Khao Lak - but once we got used to that it was not a big issue.

Welcoming was warm and welcoming, our room was upgraded and was beautiful, the pools were clean and not over crowded. The bus into town was frequent which was handy. Our cleaners were always friendly and and smiley.
The adult pool overlooking the Japanese’s restaurant was very slippery and children were very load and disturbed us. I think this was meant to be an adult only pool!?
