Really different, interesting, luxurious hotel

Great location, the neighbourhood felt very safe and is beautiful, a lovely place to walk through. The staff are really exceptional, so helpful with everything. The hotel itself is quirky and unique but luxurious too. The art is fabulous and the drinks at the cool rooftop bar are exceptional.

Breakfast was ok, not quite as elevated as the rest of the experience.

Beautiful and Funky boutique hotel, super friendly and attentive staff. Amazing location, 3-4 min walk to Polanco's main street for shopping and dining. Beautiful and safe neighbourhood.

After 3 nights we couldn't bear it anymore any checked out despite full payment for 6 nights.

Location in Polanco very good, but hotel on the corner of noisy roads.

The hotel insisted on payment in advance of 50% of the cost despite booked on booking.com as payment on arrival. Very bad idea. The (most expensive of all rooms) room was on the ground floor with thin single windows. Extremely noisy from street trafic. Hardly any daylight and zero view. Bathroom not heated and very very cold. Warm water only after water running for 5 minutes.

Not sure if I would stay here again

First impression: The hotel is not what I expected from the online photos. The decor is not bad, and some of the art and furnishings are very nice; however, instead of feeling cool and whimsical, it comes across as a little chaotic. Feels like an upscale second-hand store in some areas. There is NO ELEVATOR and I had to walk up many flights of narrow, institutional-looking, dimly lit stairs to get to my room. This was once a home, and this part of the hotel, perhaps, was where the staff lived. The stairs to the rooms were very unappealing, and in the staircase area the walls had peeling paint. I hated walking to my room, but there was no other way to get there. This needs attention!! The room was nice - it had an excellent TV and a wide selection of channels to watch, as well as a very comfortable bed. My room had a nice two-deck patio that was pretty. The staff is lovely, quite helpful, and cheerful. The breakfast was very good, and I ordered room service twice, which was also very good. The area around the hotel is beautiful. I felt very safe.

As mentioned, rooms in the back part of the hotel must be accessed through a dark, gritty staircase. This is very unappealing.

Gorgeous and artistic decor, gracious staff, wonderful food, and super comfortable beds! This was my third stay at Pug Seal.

Beautiful boutique hotel in Polanco

We had the most relaxing stay at this beautiful boutique hotel in Polanco; it was so quiet and peaceful and we loved waking up in the morning to hear the birds chirping outside in the garden; all of the staff were so friendly and helpful; the bed was enormous and very comfortable; breakfast was fabulous and I loved that they had 'cafe de olla' every morning; we loved walking around the neighborhood, with all of the shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as all the public parks and tree-lined streets - highly recommended.

well designed hotel in a quiet upscale location but seemed cluttered.

Very cool lobby with nice artwork and friendly staff. Complimentary Mexican coffee upon arrival. Room had a nice little balcony and large shower.

Our room was a bit cluttered and lacked decent lighting. Lots of furniture made it difficult to move around the bed.

Amazing stay and fun hotel!

The staff is amazing! They really go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. They are helpful and can guide you where to go. The breakfast is also really good and free! The garden outside is nice to sit at. We stayed in the suite and it was huge and very comfortable. Rooms and hotel have a fun, boutique vibe and lots of personality.

The very best place to stay in Polanco, or anywhere else in Mexico City!

The made-to-order breakfasts were huge and delicious. The location is central but quiet and safe. The staff was very helpful and accomodating.

Beautiful setting and amiable staff in a lovely neighborhood.

Beautifully kept property. The art alone was worth the stay as there is a fun new corner of the property to enjoy every day. Beyond just the property, the people make this Pug Seal great. The staff is so friendly, gracious and warm, everyone from housekeepers to cooks to wait staff to front desk.
