If you are dreaming about a holiday in a peaceful Tuscan villa with olive trees, cypress and a panoramic view over the valley with the scent of the country, here is where you will find the right accommodation. Villa Ai Cedri has 4 double bedrooms , one of which is on the ground floor and the other 3 are on the first floor; you can enjoy the panoramic view of the valley from all the bedrooms. There are 3 bathrooms: one is on the ground floor, the other two are on the first floor ( one of them is in a double room, the other one is shared between the other two bedrooms). The house has on the ground floor a large living room with armchairs, sofas and a working fireplace and a dining room with kitchen with all appliances. Both overlook the garden directly, where there is a brick porch for comfortable outdoor dining. In the garden there is a pool with Roman steps and outside shower, a BBQ area with pergola and an outdoor table and an area equipped for children (swing, slide, see-saws).

The property was exactly as described, though photos really don't do justice to the beauty and serenity of the place. We were fortunate to stay for several weeks, inviting family and friends to join us during that time. Everyone found the place comfortable and memorable. Giovan was there when we needed him. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
A few things to know about the property: I wouldn't describe it as remote, but it is accessed by a very narrow road with several daunting curves. We had a van to accommodate our guests and driving the road was daunting. When we were able to switch to a smaller vehicle it was easier.
Also, there are fees for taxes and utilities that are not included in the quoted price, which was a bit of a surprise; it is probably worth inquiring about those beforehand.
We were very happy with Villa ai Cedri and left with lots of memories and photos.

The good first: This is a lovely house and well appointed. It is comfortable, and it has a gorgeous view. The check in process was challenging; the host was supposed to meet us at a pizza place he chose. It was closed, and he was 45 minutes late. He then tried to charge us outside the VRBO app for heating costs (this is listed apparently in Italian on the listing) and would have increased the cost by >25%. You also don't know how much is being charged. I asked VRBO, and they indicated the owner is not supposed to invoice outside the app. I've never had this happen with a VRBO listing, and I am surprised by this.

Beautiful Home in Tuscany
We absolutely loved our time in this home. It’s so spacious inside but we literally spent all of our time outside in the gardens and pool. Sits on a hill and (although there is a/c) you really don’t need it due to the natural breezes. It’s a great home base to travel around Tuscany and Umbria if you have a rental car. (It’s technically in Pergo so not walkable to train station or Cortona.) We would highly recommend!!

Experience the allure of the Tuscan Hills
Villa Ai Cedri is all we were hoping for. A peaceful retreat, in the Tuscan hills just outside of Cortona. The comfort and roominess of the Villa is surpassed only by the beauty and expanse of the countryside vistas. Cypress trees, olive trees and grape vines surround you, while Cortona provides a connection to the rich historical past of the area and great place to explore and experience all that is Tuscany.
Giovan our host and his family added to our wonderful experience!

We spent 3 weeks having a wonderful time at Giovan Battista's great property. The large house is lovingly furnished, the beds are comfortable, in each room there is even air conditioning( which we did not need at all, because the house is located on a hill and you can enjoy the breeze wonderfully in the evening) and also the kitchen is perfectly equipped. It is really a home away from home. The children have used the pleasantly large and very well maintained pool almost 24/7, we have also used the outdoor grill (we have not dared to use the pizza oven:)) and we have also held a boules tournament on the track behind the house.
The house, the plants, the lemon trees, the chirping of the crickets, the view and especially the incredibly friendly hosts, who were always available when we had a question, made this trip unforgettable for us. We very much hope that we will be lucky again and we can come back next year. Because rightly this gem is constantly fully booked!

We Love Cortona/Tuscany
The property is beautiful and the accommodations were very comfortable. When we arrived, Giovann had set out a homemade lemon cake on the kitchen table, courtesy of his mother, a bottle of wine, cold beer in the fridge and fresh fruit. He told us to help ourselves to his lovely bountiful vegetable garden, and we did! We ate outside on the patio most of the time, and marveled at the gorgeous view it afforded. We could not have asked for a nicer, friendlier host. Giovann even drove me to the hospital on Sunday night, and stayed to translate for my wife while she gave hospital staff the necessary information. We cannot thank him enough for his kindness. We highly recommend this villa for anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable, romantic place to stay in Tuscany.

A perfect place to stay in Tuscany!
This home met all our expectations and more! The house itself was lovely, spacious, well laid out and well maintained, and provided everything we needed for a relaxing stay (including private bathrooms, laundry facilities, a fully equipped kitchen and even a lovely garden with fresh vegetables and herbs). The outdoor pool and grounds were immaculate and the view was fantastic. It was an easy trip on the train from Rome, a car rental facility was next to the train station, then the villa was only a few minutes drive. The customer service and communication provided by the owners was outstanding!! We highly recommend Villa Ai Cedri to everyone....families with children, couples or singles. We would love to stay there again! Susan R.

A Wonderful Week in Tuscany
What a lovely, cozy villa for our late winter holiday. Our attentive host, Giovan, saw to our every need. His mother even baked a mouthwatering lemon cake for our welcome. Our group of seven slept comfortably in the four bedrooms. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax and feel at home.
The view of the countryside is spectacular, and the villa is perfectly situated to enjoy stunning Tuscan sunsets.

The property has incredible views. The amenities are great. The market is very close to buy groceries for your stay. We fell in love there! Didn't want to leave.

Luxurious fully-equipped villa and pool and a view
A secluded 10-minute drive from wonderful old Cortona town ... this is a lovely fully-equipped villa in own grounds, with superb large pool, great views to Val di Chiana, own vegetable patch, winery and a pizza oven! OK, there's also SKY tv, the internet, a microwave and new air conditioning. This is the second time we have stayed with Giovan and Chiara - they are on hand to help and advise if needed ... making for a wonderful peaceful vacation. There's a nice small family run supermarket, friendly bar and fine pizzeria in Pergo, 5 minutes away. The restaurants in Cortona just get better and better every year (see other reviews) ... it is really tough to beat the Tuscan vacation experience and Villa ai Cedri is simply a great base camp. Andare e godere!

Under the Tuscan sun
It felt remote, but only 5 miles from Cortona, that made it so much the better, but still easy to do day trips throughout Tuscany. The villa was very clean and the vistas across the valley were breath taking. The owner went well above and beyond to care for our needs.

Perfect for a Tuscan holiday!
We just returned from a week-long stay at Villa Ai Cedri. It was all we hoped it would be -- the perfect setting for a Tuscan holiday. Located in the beautiful countryside just outside of Cortona, Villa Ai Cedri provided a comfortable and lovely base for our group of 7. We enjoyed fascinating tours of Cortona and the Montepulciano region with Debora and divine meals at the Villa prepared by Debora's husband, Chef Ryan, who the Villa owners set us up with. Taxis were readily available to take us to Cortona and even to Florence for a day. The highlight of the trip, however, was just being at the Villa enjoying the ambience, the food, the wine, the cozy fire place, and the company. The property is well managed and the owners most hospitable. We would definitely recommend it to others and hope to return ourselves someday!

Villa is bigger than more wonderful than expected.
Our family - four adult siblings and significant others - stayed at the Villa Ai Cedri for a week. The views were spectacular. The house was beautifully constructed, tastefully decorated, and wonderfully appointed with quality linens, kitchen supplies, etc. Many TV channels and working Wifi that many of us could access at once. We could fit comfortably together in the kitchen, pool area, porch, living areas, bocci court, etc., or spread out and find time for ourselves.
The communication from the owners was superb from booking through departure. They were responsive, helpful, kind, and warm. They welcomed us with wine and local treats as well as fresh flowers in the house. They invited us to help ourselves to vegetables and herbs in the garden.
The location was fantastic. Walking distance to a grocery store, cafe, and two pizza places. Easy drive to Cortona. Because of stone walls on the way from the village to the villa, driving a big car is challenging. We recommend small cars.

Villa ai Cedri, better than the pictures!
A homemade blueberry tart, beautiful floral arrangements and fresh veggies from their garden, and Giovan, our host, all greeted us on the first day. The home was clean and the beds comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the utensils, pots and pans etc. Giovan was as accommodating as could be although there was really nothing we had to ask for. It was a treat to sit at the covered outdoor dining table and have coffee/tea over breakfast and watch the panoramic views as the sun rose over the valley. Dinner with a glass of local wine at sunset was memorable as well. On the hot days the pool was a treat (morning dips were great too). There is a local market/butcher 5 minutes away with anything you might want and friendly staff. Giovan has a wine cellar in the home with reasonably priced options (as well as some of his homemade olive oil). The home is situated above on a south facing valley with an exceptional panorama. Our first morning, as the sun rose from behind the house, the first light illuminated the hilltop town of Montepulciano in the distance (about an hours drive)...stunning! Because of it's central location we were able to do day trips easily to Montepulciano, Montelcino and Chianti regions for wine tours and tastings. I could not think of a better setting than the Villa ai Cedri as a launching point for our tour of this area of Tuscany...a truly 5 star Villa. My favorite day was actually spent without leaving the villa, taking a walk in the hillside neighborhood, with a home cooked breakfast and dinner to start and finish the relaxing day. We visited some friends who had a villa on the other side of Cortona that was more expensive, by a lot, and I would not have traded them Villas.

What a wonderful experience! Villa Ai Cedri is paradise in Tuscany. Spent a week there with my wife and three children and had the time of our lives. Gorgeous property. Beautiful views. Incredible pool. Cortona is close by and has wonderful restaurants and museums. Beautiful city. Like stepping back in time. Did tours of Montepulciano and Assisi with Deborah and Ryan. They rock. Giovan, the property owner, is quite the gentleman.

Villa Ai Cedri in the heart of Tuscany
We enjoyed this beautiful villa with stunning views. We really loved the how the owners take such great care of the entire property. Giovan and his family who own the villa, had a fruit tart, bread, meat & cheese, wine and fresh flowers upon our arrival. What a treat after a long day of traveling. The villa is also in a great location with stunning views, many places to sit and relax, an outside kitchen with a pizza oven and beautiful pool. We hated to have to leave this countryside villa. I went with my three sisters, and we would go back on our next trip. Thank you, Chiara and Giovan Battista (Ciao Teresa, Kathy, Laura & Mary)

Superb home from home
We had a great week here from the moment of our warm welcome from Giovan to the whole family waving us off at the end of the week . There was a lovely welcome pack of local wine, cheese, salami and a huge home-baked cake. The house was extremely well-equipped with plenty of towels and toiletries and the kitchen had everything the cook could wish for. Even the outdoor kitchen had its own set of crockery and cutlery and we enjoyed firing up the pizza oven on two separate occasions. The pool was gorgeous and the views absolutely spectacular. Everything meticulously clean and well-maintained. Plenty of interesting places to eat in Cortona and we particularly enjoyed Preludio. We enjoyed drives around the area and probably the highlight was the day we spent exploring Montepulciano and Pienza. The Piero della Francescas in Arezzo were truly stunning. We would thoroughly recommend this property.

Heaven in Tuscany
From the moment we arrived we knew we had made a wonderful decision. Your gorgeous home was located on a hillside that overlooked the beautiful Tuscan landscape that dream of! We were happily greeted and the delicious cake awaited our holiday to begin. Your home was well prepared for our visit and the luscious garden made for several fresh and tasty meals. You and your family kindness and attention to our every need made for a holiday dream come true! Our highlight had to have been the wonderful festival at your Church after Sunday mass. Thank you for your hospitality and we look forward to next time!

Beautiful villa in Cortina
This was absolutely the most amazing villa with a swimming pool, outdoor wood oven, wine cellar and garden. We had a spectacular view of the countryside which we enjoyed every day sitting outside at the table. The kitchen was fully equipped and we cooked several meals using the tomatoes and herbs from the garden. One day we had the chef recommended by the owner cook us a meal. That was also amazing. Since it was September it was very comfortable having windows open. The villa looked awesome from the photos and was awesome in person.
I also have to say the owner was so gracious and went out of his way to make us comfortable. He lives next door with his family so if any emergencies occurred it would be easy to contact him. We had an older person travelling with us and Giovanni left a family meal to drive her back to the villa. He was incredibly kind and thoughtful. We hope to come back and stay here again.

Lovely Tuscan villa with spectacular views
The villa is conveniently located just four kilometres from the atmospheric hill top town of Cortona. The house is attractive, very comfortable and well equipped. The well kept grounds include a kitchen garden, and guests are welcome to pick the vegetables, fruit and herbs. There are spectacular views
from an outside terrace, ideal for dining while watching the sunset. There is also a good pool and outside barbecue kitchen.
The owner who lives next door was very attentive and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Villa Ai Cedri.
