Louise and Matt made us very welcome and the cottage had everything we needed including all kitchen essentials. The garden is very relaxing and we were glad to be able to find lots of cool shady areas in the very hot weather that we had during our stay.Quite nicely situated for visiting the Lizard area and not too far to drive to get to the Penzance and Cape Cornwall areas. Recommended for garden lovers.

Garden Cottage is a well-designed small property. It's set in a beautiful garden of calm and tranquillity. We stayed for 5 nights, visiting various places on the Lizard peninsula and also Trebah Garden. Owners Matt and Louise were very helpful. They also provided lots of literature about the area and maps of local walks.

Wonderful Time
Everything about the property was fine and the garden was exceptional.
If anyone in your party is over 5'8" tall they will struggle with ceiling height, though!

A lovely stay for a weekend break. Interesting design and given its size made good use of the available space with some interesting features. Very helpful, friendly and welcoming host. Thank you!

Beautiful cottage and garden but really really small!
The cottage and garden were full of character and contained everything we needed for our stay. The area was beautiful and we really enjoyed exploring it. The only negative was the cottage was really tiny and we felt there wasn’t really room to sit around and relax. If it was warmer I’m sure we’d have just sat in the garden which was really stunning with lots of interesting nooks and crannies.

A thoroughly relaxing New Year break in wonderfully tranquil surroundings
We wanted a quiet and relaxing few days away after a hectic few months and we were not disappointed. The cottage was totally "snug" and the gardens were a real haven of tranquillity. The location was also fantastic and put us within an hours drive of most of the places we wanted to visit (St Ives, St Michael's Mount, Moushole, Lands End). The bottles left in the fridge by Louise and Matt were very much h appreciated (although we forgot about the croissants in the freezer!)
If you are looking for a place where you can relax without having to try too hard, then this is the place for you.

Lovely space in a charming location - quiet and private with access to beautiful country walks
Although the weather was not so perfect I had a lovely stay at Matt and Louise's charming cottage. It is private although attached to the house and has access to the beautiful garden. It is a well thought out interior that is very cosy and has a super comfortable bed. Many thanks for an enjoyable break.

Idyllic holiday in beautiful countryside settings
Comfortable and well appointed cottage which was ideal for our short break. The rural setting was a delight and the owners have created a lovely garden setting which we were free to explore. The peace and tranquility was much appreciated and helped us to relax.
The owners made us feel very welcome with nice touches such as fresh flowers and treats in the fridge! These were very much appreciated after a long journey. Having a car was very useful and there was plenty of parking at the cottage. We were able to walk out along country lanes to visit local pubs and had some delicious meals.
We came home feeling relaxed and having benefited from our enjoyable stay.
Thanks to Matt and Louise for sharing their lovely part of the world with us.

Wonderful retreat
The cottage was everything it promised and more. Lovely flowers cut from the garden and great treats in fridge on arrival. Matt and Louise are great hosts, chilled and hands-off but very helpful with recommendations etc. Explored walks around cottage and river: a gorgeous area for relaxing. Great pubs and eateries close by, Penzance, Porthcurno/Minack and Lamorna an easy drive. Then back to the beautiful, inspirational garden. A fantastic week, if only we could have stayed much longer.

Perfect cottage in beautiful gardens
This beautiful little cottage is in a lovely quiet spot off the beaten track, but that only added to it's charm. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. The welcome information was very concise and interesting, and the OS maps were extremely helpful in discovering lots of little lanes to villages and coves (I hate sat nav!) The cottage is in such a great area for discovering the very tip of Great Britain and there are so many amazing places to go, to walk, to experience. The Cottage gardens are simply lovely, the kind of gardens I would love myself if I had the space! Separated by hedges, and little paths, it was a joy to discover what was coming up next. Mat and Louise were very welcoming, so was the bottle of Prosecco in the fridge!
I would certainly recommend this as a lovely quite idyllic holiday home.

Fantastic retreat
We had a really great time and would highly recommend the cottage and the location. The cottage is finished to a high standard, very clean and is well equipped. The gardens are amazing and private and we had a great week. The location is beautiful and we visited some lovely gardens, covered a few coastal walks and spent time at the cottage soaking up the sun in the garden. We received a warm reception from the owners and the information provided prior to our stay was excellent. There is also a file of very useful information and maps of places to visit, places to eat and the history of this wonderful historic cottage. Highly recommended and we certainly plan to stay there again.

Perfect couples' hideaway
A great, character, unique cottage in a special location. Beautifully quiet but within easy reach of all of the Lizard. Short walk to the Helford River and the coast path. Also lots of great local artisan food from local producers. Friendly and accommodating hosts. Will be very happy to return.

Uncoil in an English paradise
I have stayed at Caervallack Garden Cottage twice now and I will be returning again.
You can feel the energy in the rejuvenating environment in which the cottage stands and if you're in need of much-needed relaxation and de-stressing, this is the place for you. Matt and Louise have created an oasis of light and peace in their stone and cob cottage which sits within a intricate and welcoming private garden. You can potter and take quiet moments in the garden rooms or sip from a cup of tea on a bench that sits on the covered wooden bridge that runs over an ancient trackway. Pressure oozes away the moment you pull up through the gateposts. You can hear the silence between the cockerel's announcements and the gentle birdsong!
If you like to walk or cycle, then this is the perfect base for exploring the Lizard. You're connected to the sea via the pathways, creeks and the Helford River and there are countless villages, hilltops or wooded valleys to explore. Matt and Louise are eager and willing to share their knowledge of the area, but they also leave you well alone should you wish. The cottage adjoins their own house, but you feel as if you're alone with the spirits.
If you're into astronomy, then you'll be at home here. I've brought my Dobsonian telescope and have seen galaxies and nebulae that you just can't see in more light polluted areas. The 'seeing' is exceptional!
One last thing... even though you happily feel that you're 'in the middle of nowhere' at Caervallack, you're less than 10 miles from Helston with its shops and restaurants, and there's many local establishments, inns and village shops to discover within a short walk, cycle or drive.
You'll find staying in Caervallack Garden Cottage one of the fastest ways to slow down!

Idyllic cottage
Caervallack is a magical place, the cottage is beautiful with a cute kitchen/living room downstairs and a very comfortable bedroom/shower room upstairs. There is a gorgeous little terrace looking onto the garden and we ate our breakfast here every morning. Everything you need is there and the cottage is very well appointed. The garden is absolutely breathtaking with lots of different areas to sit and read or just contemplate and enjoy the peace and quiet. We loved our stay at Caervallack and will definitely return one day.
