About this house rental
Cappannare is an old farmhouse that is dates back to the late 1800s. It is located in the quiet countryside, in a gentle hills landscape of about 600 meters above sea level. It is a holiday home surrounded by pastures and woods.
For our guests there is the garden, the swimming pool and all the ground floor of the house (200 square meters), composed of:
- a spacious living room of 47 square meters, where you can meet to eat together around the big table (extendable up to 12 seats). It is a lounge where you can chat comfortably in the sofas and watching tv. During the evenings of winter holidays, upon request, you can light a fire in the fireplace;
- A fully equipped kitchen, with oven, dishwasher, fridge, frost and table;
- 2 triple rooms, with direct access to the garden;
- 2 double bedrooms;
- 3 bathrooms with shower.
In our accommodation the furniture are all made of wood, with simple and linear “old style”, in harmony with the surrounding landscape.
The farmhouse is part of Azienda Agricola Cappannare, which extends for 80 hectares, consisting of meadows, oak and olive trees, constantly supervised by our sheep, accompanied by our dogs and under the supervision of our cats.
Cappannare: ideal for those who want a holiday in Umbria, in the countryside and in total relax.

The farmhouse was clean and spacious. There are 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen and a large louge. Kitchen is fully equipped. There is an ouside table and a great pool. If you are looking for a peaceful stay in the middle of nowhere, this is a place for you. To get to the house you need to drive up on an off road for about 10-15 mins. The house itself is loaded up with books in many languages and there is some quirky artwork. The owners of the house - an elderly couple live on the first floor with their carer. They are nice and welcoming and keep themselves to themselves. They speak Italian only. We were not expecting luxury and even though few things could do with some updating, we really enjoyed our stay.

The place itself is beautiful and just what we were looking for, but we were rather surprised that we had to buy everything - EVERYTHING - ourselves. E.g. there was no salt/pepper, dishwash or other basic necessities. Two tea towels for a whole week and no dish cloths. It cannot be right that every single party has to purchase those things. There was Internet - now and then - but no wifi. That was both a blessing and a curse.

The country house and private swimming pool provided an ideal location for exploring nearby towns and spending time relaxing with friends. Four adults and four teenagers had plenty of space. The house is full of books and stays cool. It was immaculate when we arrived. Friendly family members ensured any needs were met. If you really want to get away and enjoy the hills of Umbria — a stay here will deliver it. You will need to be prepared for driving on unpaved roads but as first time travelers to Italy it was no problem getting around. Definitely recommended!

We had a wonderful time here. There were two families with young children, and we were comfortable and fully entertained there. Hosts were responsive and beyond kind, we loved our vacation.
