Very happy thank you Hostel Tikka!

I stayed in Hostel Tikka with a friend for three nights in early December 2025. We arrived unexpectedly early and Tanja very kindly showed up early to set up our room for us. The hostel was wonderful - we had a room with two single beds, a desk, and a place to hang our coats. There are two bathrooms and two showers, both of which were kept very clean. The kitchen was very well equipped, with ample fridge space. We were initially worried that the hostel was too far from the centre of Rovaniemi, but were very pleased to find that it is immediately next to a well-stocked supermarket and a 15 minute walk from the Santa Claus Village (a common pickup spot for activities in and around Rovaniemi) as well as nearby to beautiful hikes and lookouts. The best stuff to do in Rovaniemi is around there anyway. MUST RECOMMEND: Syvasenvaaran Torni, a lookout very nearby the hostel with panoramic views of Rovaniemi. Ubers are surprisingly affordable in Rovaniemi. We would absolutely stay again.

We could occasionally hear people in neighbouring rooms / common areas, but it was very manageable (I am a somewhat light sleeper and didn't find that it was a problem at all).

Would recommend everyone to stay here- I’ve traveled quite a bit and this is actually made for the term ‘value for money

It was clean and the location was ideal. It’s not in the town centre but only a short ride by taxi or bus away. Santa Village and airport are even closer. The communication went smoothly and it actually felt like our home in Lapland for a few days. There is 7 rooms located in the hostel but all guests have been amazing and respected everyone’s privacy etc.

Clean, comfortable, and ideally located hostel.

It was clean, tidy, and comfortable, offering great value for money and located in a perfect spot. The bus stop is right in front of the house, with the shop behind it, and the area is surrounded by beautiful nature, just a 20-minute walk to Santa Village.

Perhaps they should offer storage for luggage in case of a late flight.

Comfortable and spacious room. Clean bathrooms. Location far from the center of Rovaniemi but close to Santa Claus Village, 30 minutes walk, in a very quiet area and very close to the supermarket. Convenient for self check-in. Possibility to use the kitchen.

Very beautiful place- clean, warm and friendly. Also this hostel is in the very good place nearby Santa Claus village. You can get there by 8th bus. It is an amazing nature around! And K-market is so close to hostel- it is very comfortable for travelers. Thank you so much for good memories about Rovaniemi!

You can add some soap in bathrooms. It will be great to have some small gel or shampoo.

Well-located for being outside the center

We really liked the location, it was possible to walk to the airport and santa claus village even in the dead of winter. Also supermarket next door had good options for food. The hostel was always clean and warm.

There was mostly men staying there but only one bathroom per gender, bathrooms could be unisex to avoid waiting. Noisy guests kept us awake in the night and no-one on site to monitor this, wasn't aware their chat was 24/7 and could have complained.

Next to the supermarket, only a 3 km walk from the airport, direct bus to the city, within walking distance to Syväsenvaara Fell, very clean, peaceful and calm location

It was not bad. Maybe the house is too crowded to accomodate 5-6 rooms.

There is a supermarket right to the property. The kitchen was also well equiped. It was nice experience to cook for myself during the stay.

Location of the apartment was good - near Rovaniemi Train Station and Airport! There is also a supermarket 2 minutes away from the apartment! It was around 30 minutes walk to the Santa Claus Village, but the view was spectacular we didn't mind the walking.

The house is tidy and fully furnished. It is near the Santa Claus Ville around 30 min on foot. There are bus stops beside the house. If you are traveling by car, it is a good place you take a rest.
