Cute and cosy cabin.

The apartment we stayed in was a beautiful winter delight. Perfect size for a family. Lots of space to play in the snow outside. Warm,cosy and very cute. Breakfast was delicious with a huge variety. Short and easy walk into town.

Wouldn’t stay again

The apartments were very basic and for the cost it was not worth it. The 4th bed was placed in the kitchenette unusable

Great located, dated and very average hotel

Great location, not too far from main area which has restaurants, shops and activity meeting area

Really dated property. We could hear whole conversations from the room next door through the bathroom roof??? The breakfast was average, the worst we have had in Europe. We booked a 4 bed room, but our kids were not on a sofa bed they were given a mattress protector on a hard couch that was organised to almost be a small double bed, very very strange. We requested extra mattress topper like they would put on a normal bed and it took 4 staff and 2 days for this to happen. The cost was ridiculous, but I think this is because the whole town cashes in on being where Santa is from. You have to pay extra to have your room cleaned, this is also the first time we have had to do this in Europe.

We checked in the middle of the night due to flight being cancelled last minute. The hotel were very accommodating.

Central location, a tad old.

Nice big and quiet breakfast area, apartment was clean and well kept. Staff were helpful.

Toilet was surprisingly cold even though the room was warm. Breakfast spread not very wide. Sauna was a shared one, was somehow lead to believe it was a private one in the room based on another review.

Excellent place to stay in Rovaniemi

Location is excellent and the rooms were a lot more better than what I expected. The breakfast was excellent and really enjoyable. Front desk personnel were very helpful.

There were no disappointments, I cannot imagine any better place to stay. Maybe only negative part was that the hotel was old, but for me it is rather a big plus.

Pretty Average!

The front desk is available 24/7, and there’s a luggage room to store luggage for a long time. The breakfast was good. There are sauna hours! Property was clean (except the bathroom), and there was a usable kitchen.

The bathroom was dirty and had mold smell. Room was cold at night. There was no Wi-Fi in the room at all (I stayed in an apartment). The front desk was in a different building, so it was a hassle asking for help!

Horrible Christmas Eve Stay

Absolutely nothing, not one thing!

The property is ancient and in need of some refurbishment to modernize the facilities. Two of the radiators did not function and the temperature outside was -12°. The window screens were ripped. Horrible beds with tatty linens and old pillows. Dirty amenities! Access is less than acceptable. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Truly cannot believe that people can get away with charging unreasonable rates for the poorly accommodations— this should be illegal! To be avoided at all costs.

Probably the overall best accommodation in Rovaniemi....

Don't know how many times I've stayed in Hotel Aakenus but it's more than ten times. It's always good, everything always works, there is a waterkettle and a fridge in the room, turning on the TV is straightforward, staff is friendly and efficient, parking couldn't be simpler, it's five minutes walk from the city centre et cetera, et cetera.

Fantastic hotel, great value for money

We were not very sure about this hotel after our booking. But we were positively surprised. we stayed in an apartment with two rooms. Kitchen was fully equipped. It is not in city center but very close to it, 5 mins walking. Best were the hotel team. They were very positive and were not mad at us at all despite us being the last for breakfast everyday. And the hotel does look exactly as they show in the Photo !

this place was our favorite, we wishes we stayed longer and booked earlier. staff were amazing and they are always ready to help, they have a storage room for the bags till your rooms are ready; sauna is also available in the hotel and there breakfast buffet was incredible. Clean apartment, 10-15 mins walk to everything

Considering how expensive Rovaniemi is, it's the best bargain on the market.

The sauna was fantastic. It warmed to peak heat in about 30 minutes and so convenient. I arrived thinking we had to leave the property for a sauna or share it with the other guests. No. It was private. We took one every day.

The room desperately needed another table and some closet space. We lived out of our luggage laying on the floor.

We arrived at 1 PM on good Friday.There was none at reception,however when I called the number.He immediately allowed through cleaner into the room.Although I got the room keys when reception opened at 15:30 hrs.

There was no blind curtain which is very essential in Arctic region. Outside the apartment the area is Sandy so lot of sand comes in each time you go outside.The carpet or doormat in the common area is not strong absorb it.
