Ok location, cheaper than the city centre. Good price for Bath. Clean, good shower, nice bed. Good internet.

No breakfast, even though I paid for breakfast? Breakfast was meant to be included. I would have stayed somwhere else if they communicated this. Lady just said "There is no breakfast." Neighbours playing loud, very bad gangster music, but luckily didn't go on all night. Parking is all over the place, just hope you can find a place.

A pleasant intro to Bath.

The room was beautifully decorated. Henry's is in a quiet location. Parking on the road. Check in simple. Instructions provided.

The bed was a bit hard for me. There was no breakfast or access to the lounge/kitchen area as indicated there would be. Decaff coffee in the room would be appreciated. More hangers in cupboard, and a hook on the back of bedroom door. There was the sound of running water twice which woke me. Could this be the washing machine/dishwasher? I doubt someone was showering at 1am.

Perfectly pleasant stay and base to explore in and around Bath.

The room was ideal for my needs, and though a little out of Bath city centre, there was a bus stop [ i do not have a car ] near to hand that has a frequent service, The room itlself is functional, but frankly was all that was required as, as I intended, I was out most of the time I was in Bath. I did not see any others whilst I was at or in he house, so, whilst this was an anonymous experience, for me it did not really detract. Clearly marked 'Security Instructions' concerning house access and taking off ones shoes in the Hallway were simple and easy to follow. The bathroom was shared , but was immaculately clean as was the room.

I did find accessing the keys to gain access to the property a little bit difficult trying to access the key box, but, after that, all was well.

Do not stay here!!

Location was convenient as it was a short walk to my brother and family who we were hosting.

Heating had broken and was not informed until I arrived. No spare blankets. Not feasible to find alternative at 5pm on Boxing Day. No toilet paper 😱. Large rip on net curtain. Other guest (or friend of host) had take over lounge and kitchen, wet washing everywhere. Did not therefore get any breakfast. Couldn't find the complimentary toiletries - I assume they didn't mean what was in the dirty bathroom cabinet? Noisy hot water machine in bedroom provided a lukewarm cup of tea. Owner has still not replied to any of my messages but received an automatic text this morning requesting a "full score review" 🤣 Yes - this is very cheap and I didn't expect much but this was quite ridiculous! I expect a full refund. Make sure you read all the policies before you book!!! I'm sure this review will get a sarcastic and rude reply from the owner (see past reviews).

An ideal location when in Bath.

Ideally situated to walk into the city centre with parking available in the street. My room was a good size, clean and comfortable with facilities to make a hot drink. If / when I am in Bath again I would be very happy to stay here again.

Comfy and well located for bus transport into town

The room was very warm and comfortable. The pillows were comfy as was the bed. The shared bathroom worked well. Breakfast was as advertised. Good location if you can use the local buses.

There weren't plugs in either the sink or bath. Maybe the bath is understandable, but the sink? I was only able to access the downstairs room in the morning, not the evening as advertised. No margarine for the toast, maybe I couldn't find it?

Good location, good value for money

Very clean, friendly host, tea/coffee in room. Breakfast included (although I had to leave early so didn't get to have it). Location was good for me: approx 30 mins walk into town centre. Price very reasonable, particularly considering it's December when lots of the hotels jump to single room prices ~£200 a night.

Took a while to find somewhere to park as very busy for parking on nearby residential roads but if you persevere there are spaces in some of the side roads. Very minor point was the stairs up to the rooms were dark, would benefit from motion sensor lights which there appeared to be but maybe batteries needed replacing.

Overpriced and spartan with heavily restrictive rules for guests

Host was friendly on arrival. Room was clean. Good location

Unfortunately, it wasn't the best experience due to the following. Almost puritanical sparesness on amenities. Very basic shower / bathroom facilities. A noisy, well-used electric shower which was clearly in need of descaling, slightly dilapidated bedroom furniture and a single clearly old and threadbare towel provided. Bed was quite hard and uncomfortable, and the very strict rules expected to be followed by guests made for an uncomfortable and awkward stay. I felt an intense need to creep around like a church mouse. Walls were quite thin as my room was right next to the bathroom, and I was awoken several times during the night to the clearly audible sounds of other guests' toilet activities Despite advertising parking being available at 'the end of the road', this was non-existent. Sheer volume of cars parked around the residential area on kerbs and verges, meant I was forced to park several streets over and nearly ten minutes walk away from the property, despite there being space in front of the guest house, but was clearly stated in the rules that it was forbidden to park there. It was quite an unfavourable experience and certainly not what I would consider value for money at £156.61 per night.. Unfortunately, I would not consider staying here again.

rubbish, extra taxi costs & was mislead during a phone call day before about distance.

NOTHING AT ALL, . too far out, advert misleading, not near center at all, £8.50 TAXI to residential house, no TV in room as would expect & get from everywhere else, CUL-DE-SAC without taxi very difficult to find. key code did not work etc etc.

location, far to far out. spoke to someone day before on phone to check few things was told short walk from train station rubbish, i started walking but had to ask & was told by 2 different people 30mins walk away !. went back to station & got taxi £8.50 to a residential estate in cul-de-sac some ones house.. When i got there the code i was given for key did not work, after messing about for 10mins i noticed someone was in so knocked on door, IT WAS A GOOD JOB SOMEONE WAS THERE AS I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET IN... i showed the code i was given then was told to "come in then". I asked if there was a bar nearby, was told no, went to room .. NO TV, noting to do was about 9.30pm when i arrived. One of the instructions i was sent when booked was strictly no snoring, well the i assume the woman who let me in snored very loud through the night. woke up very early & light was pouring through the room, no proper black out curtains or blinds to stop light..SEE PIC'S.. ( times are on the photos in corner) I packed & left ASAP as wanted to spend day in Bath, got the local bus into City. Then i had to leave my suitcase somewhere, when i booked the idea was to leave it in guesthouse which isnt really a guesthouse, it is someone's house. Ended up costing me £8.50 taxi, £5 for luggage & a bus fare i did not expect. All in all not a place to stay close to Bath as to far out, Booking.com says close but that is a LIE. Very very disappointed at cost etc. would like my money back. HAVE SINCE BEEN OFFERED 50% MONEY BACK, NOT ACCEPTABLE, cost me extra did not expect & whole experience was terrible. stayed at 2 other proper hotels 4 & 3 nights in Wales during same trip cost a lot more with no issues. this is not "proper guest house" & should not ne trading as one.

Poor 💩

The bed

No breakfast, write up false information No access to kitchen, lounge or dining room as someone sleeping there, who eventually gave an end of crust toast for brekkie, Morrison stops meals at 5pm which was suggested as a local meal , could have bought something for breakfast while there if I knew there wasn’t any. Shower v poor, any chance of some refund and I suggest you take this off . Worst place I’ve been to by Booking. com definitely will think twice in future. Sorry really disappointed 😕

Worse than any guest house/youth hostel i ever stayed.

Parking place Allowing to check in late

1-- Bed bugs - got bites, caught one alive. 2 -- Waiting for refund - which might never happen. Originally booked 2 nights, had to leave because of bedbug, was kept awake from 4am first night. 3 -- Someone sleeping in couch in living room - not warden but had spare keys.. confusing situation 4 -- Rooms messed up -- booked Room2 but another guest arrived early and occupied it. 5 -- kitchen messy, items disorganised, no clear indication as for ownership or guest house.

The Good bad and the ugly

Great location quite

The host asked people who booked here not to stay if you snored .kept up most of the first night by the guest who snored continually. The down stairs was highjack by a lady sleeping on the couch with washing hanging up passively aggressively made it impossible to use the property to its advertised potential if it wasn't for that I'd would have stayed happily again

Clean and comfortable, loved the 9pm silent curfew, got there 8:55… got a good deal last minute so affordable. Slept like a log …

Horrible

There was nothing i liked about Henry,s

The photo,s online looked nothing like the hole it is. Henry was rude and agressive. he neglected to tell me witch room i was in. he closed the door before i could get the room number. I had to knocked on the door again to find out the room i was in. He told me the room number, i then asked where the key was stating it is in the room, not showing me where it is. I was unable to lock the room when i left the room, so it was not secure when i was not there. The room was hot with no fan or air con. The share bathroom was below par. The whole experience at Henry,s was highly dissapointing. It took Henry 5 mins to answer the door when i arrived. It was an absolute disturbing experience. Do not book Henry,s, do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

A tranquil urban setting where I could hear the birds...

An easy check in with excellent instructions, good communication! I felt safe there as security was well covered and you were made to feel that you could ask if there was a problem. It was very comfortable. The shared bathroom was clean and had an excellent shower over a bath. It was a quiet and restful setting for city accomodation. Having a simple help yourself breakfast was very helpful. It was good value compared to most places. I would definitely visit again. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Correct me if I am wrong but it might be tricky to visit as a couple; you would need to contact Henry's B&B first, as tranquility and respect is implied as its USP, and walls are thin. The message about snorers was a bit off putting though... hopefully I didn't 😊. Otherwise a very good place to stay and it worked well for me at a time when I really appreciated some peace. Thank you.

In an excellent location to get in and out of town centre, the accommodation is very comfortable and oh so quiet both inside and outside. There’s a great selection of cereal and toast for breakfast, as well as tea & coffee to make in your room. Wonderful to have a room without a TV dominating, there were books to read instead. Loved it

Very basic breakfast, rooms had zero sound insulation (which hosts alludes to- if you snore, don't book...) and floorboards creak, so bathroom visits were noisy... I also didn't like being asked to leave a 5* review... I obviously missed it, so my fault, but it is a shared bathroom. Had I realised, I would not have booked. But again, my mistake.

They cancelled me last minute before check in

Was messaged last minute before check in telling me they could not accommodate me due to an emergency, I had no where to go and was forced to go to a hotel almost double the.price as was last minute . They did eventually refund me but they refused to pay for the difference I had to pay to the other hotel. Would never book them again.

Couldn't stay as no room for 2

Room was misleading with Advertisement on booking.com My filters were for rooms for 2 people. This came up in the search. I booked. Then get told by the owner the room is for 1 person only. Plus absolutely no noise after 9, not even snoring. No exception to check in time. I told the owner there was a mistake, and I needed a room for 2. He said take it up with booking.com. the owner should have cancelled it for false advertisement

The landlord attempted to cancel our reservation at the last minute despite it already being a last minute booking the man has a no snoring rule which you don’t get to see until your booking confirmation When I reached out to him to explain that one of our party had been recently injured which caused him to snore because he has to sleep on his back he said no refunds at this short notice and blocked me on Booking.com Please read ALL of the reviews before you book this place is probably not suitable for a work visit

Disappointed but passable

Clean, host responsive, located close to centre in quiet street

The host is keen for everyone to have a peaceful and quiet stay, and is mindful of the thin walls. He therefore states no noise after 9 - no tv, no phone calls etc and he tells snorers not to book. Whilst I appreciate his aim here, I think he’d do better to rent the upstairs rooms together rather than individually. At present, you can hear people coming in quietly at night, using the bathroom, coughing and so on. The stairs and landing creak a lot. This makes it a somewhat unpeaceful stay, through no fault of the other guests. Overall the stay is very basic. The towel provided is very small and scratchy. There’s no plug in the bath. There’s no bin in the bathroom. The curtains are not blackout. There was a big black stain on the floor in the small bedroom. There’s one plug socket in the bedroom with a multi plug on it which felt like it was overheating when I plugged my phone in to charge. I also booked quite late and paid far too much for a single bed, and as a result I expected a higher standard than was provided. If I’d have paid £30, I think I would’ve accepted it as a cheap stay, but I paid £70 and was disappointed.
