We loved The Roxy. The live music was swinging every night and made it so fun and alive. If you want a quiet zen like experience, this would not be for you. If you want a lively, fun, hip atmosphere, I don’t think you can beat it.

The hotel is centrally located in SoHo/Tribeca with a subway stop less than a block away. Room and bed were super comfortable. Best part is the atmosphere in the lobby and the Django jazz club. Live music, great happy hour, a Jack’s Coffee, an art house movie theater and jazz club all under one roof. We only stay at the Roxy when visiting NYC.

The assistant front office manager, Roger B, was incredibly condescending and misogynistic. I can’t remember any other time where I was spoken to in such a rude manner, especially as a hotel guest! He certainly has a thing or two to learn about customer service.
The bellhops on the other hand, were fantastic. Every single one of them went out of their way for us. They were kind, polite, and accommodating.
The hotel is noisy - as each of the rooms faces out to the rotunda where the hotel restaurant plays loud music until late into the night. Bring white noise and/or earplugs if you want to get to sleep at a decent hour.
The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The design aesthetic was a bit gimmicky and just very, very brown. If you’re looking for a “luxury” hotel this isn’t it.
Excellent location walkable to some amazing neighborhoods.
