⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a fantastic family-friendly spot! This place has something for everyone. The fishing is excellent, with plenty of opportunities to catch fish and enjoy a relaxing day by the water. The kids had an amazing time playing and swimming in a safe, enjoyable environment, which made it easy for the adults to relax too. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, making our visit even more enjoyable. One of the best parts is that it's pet-friendly, so we were able to bring our dog along and enjoy the day together as a family. The area is clean, well-maintained, and perfect for making lasting memories outdoors. Whether you're looking to fish, let the kids burn off some energy, take a swim, or spend quality time with your furry friends, this spot checks all the boxes. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had a great experience at River Coves Resort. The place is beautiful, spacious, and perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing day away from the city. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, which made the stay even more enjoyable. That said, there are a few areas for improvement. Since the resort is quite large, it would be very convenient if they could add a restaurant or a small store within the facility so guests won’t need to walk far just to buy food or essentials. The air conditioning in our room also wasn’t sufficient. The room was quite big but only had a 0.6 HP unit, so it wasn’t able to keep the space cool. The facility itself is also a bit old, so hopefully they can renovate and make it feel newer and more comfortable. Overall, I would still recommend this resort, especially if you’re after a quiet and laid-back getaway.

I have travelled throughout Southeast Asia and beyond, including Vietnam, Laos, Bali, Thailand, Japan, Sri Lanka and parts of the Philippines. Unfortunately, this was one of the poorest value-for-money experiences I have had. The main problems: * Run-down property: The resort clearly has potential, especially because of the pool and the size of the grounds, but the entire property desperately needs renovation and maintenance. It would require substantial investments to lift the rooms, landscaping and facilities above substandard condition. * Broken bathroom plumbing: From the beginning, the drainage was defective. While brushing my teeth, dirty wastewater ran over my feet. I reported the problem, but nothing changed. * Bathroom design: There is no partition between shower and toilet. Taking a shower floods the entire bathroom. Using the toilet means standing in water. A simple glass partition (or at least a curtain) would solve this. * Ants and mosquitoes: The room was full of small ants and especially mosquitoes. We struggled to sleep for several nights. Trying to kill them became an endless task. * Garbage and turkeys: Because of the ants, we had to leave our rubbish bins outside the room. During the night, two neglected-looking turkeys got into the rubbish and left droppings all over the entrance area and our shoes. We spent half an hour cleaning everything before we could leave the room. * Windows were made of glass tiles. In every apartment some tiles were missing, letting in mosquitoes and other animals. It was only fixed after we complained. * Long walk through the property: Depending on your room, expect a 5-10 minute walk to reach the entrance. * Location: Bulacan itself offers very little of interest nearby, particularly for families travelling with children. If you are looking for activities or sightseeing, the location is not convenient. The few positives: * the staff were friendly, although not particularly effective at solving problems * the pool area is attractive * our room was reasonably spacious. Overall, however, the positives could not compensate for the poor maintenance. At approximately €40 per night, I found the value for money extremely disappointing. The property has enormous potential, but would need major investments before I could recommend staying here.
