    We have stayed here a few times, lovely setting. Staff excellant pools good, the only downside this time was the lift stopped working & due to health conditions it was an issue.

    I booked the stay last minute of a bank holiday Sunday as the deal for DBB was very reasonable. We arrived early as a family of 4 and the room wasn't ready but we were kindly issued a key card to use the pool facilities. The pool area is small but there was a jacuzzi, steam & sauna room which was nice. Had some lunch after in the bar area which was tasty and the view overlooking the green surroundings was beautiful. We were blessed with a sunny day. As we were on the dinner package we availed of a beautiful dinner with an allowance of £29 per adult/£15 per child. The food was excellent and as residents we were privileged to recieve a further 20% discount off drinks ordered in the restaurant. Again-great value. We had a comfortable stay in a large room with an extra camp bed and sofa bed for the children. The room was old and could do with a lick of paint but it was fine and spacious. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful, although the cooked breakfast was on the cold side. The serving dishes they were in did not retain heat but it was ok for us. The hotel is quite remote. We got a taxi to Didcot train station and one quick stop into Oxford. There is a bus that runs locally to Oxford but it's a good 20min walk to the stop which didn't suit us with small children. Overall a wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly-particularly *** who works in the bar and another nice two girls on reception, although I didn't catch their names. Restaurant staff too were lovely & accomodating considering they were very busy. Would absolutely recommend as value for money and comfort.

    Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Restaurant - better to go to The Packhorse pub which is 100 metres away.
