Really nice pub and well appointed and comfy rooms - excellent staff - stayed as went to Newbury racing and it was a good base. The only minor gripe was the English breakfast I chose was a little undercooked for my liking but others may have found it ok.

The Hare and Hound was warm and friendly with a laid back but professional atmosphere. Well situated for excellent dog walks. Easy to find and very good parking. It also has EV charger! The food and drinks were expensive. Overall, very enjoyable and I would stay again.

Having stayed here previously, I was disappointed with my room on this occasion. My request for a first-floor room was not accommodated, and the room allocated opened directly onto the car park. As a solo female traveller, I felt vulnerable due to the lack of an internal double lock or chain, and significant road noise meant I was unable to rest. The reception staff did their best to assist but were unable to move me as the hotel was fully booked. On a positive note, both my evening meal and breakfast were of a good standard. Unfortunately, having booked specifically to reduce travel ahead of an important meeting, the lack of sleep left me feeling unwell, and I would not choose to stay again. Cleanliness in this room was also not of the standard I had experienced previously.
