Staff are so welcoming , especially Matthew at reception, who is always helpful and accommodating with a smile ! Lovely breakfast and facilities too. Would recommend.

Hotel was lovely and inviting and warm. Hotel is little tired now I stayed 15 years ago and nothing has changed, it’s very clean though.
We got this break as a deal so was for us good value for money, however if you paid the full price listed you’d be disappointed at the breakfast of this level of hotel.
Very repetitive after 4 days, soggy oil potato cakes and on every morning some of the burners weren’t on the the chaffing dishes weren’t lit, so cold beans and mushrooms, only the choice of tomatoes on Sunday morning. Only ever fried eggs. Cheap sliced bread. No jugs of water available. Just feel the breakfasts lacked effort. Especially for the 4 Stars it is. Feel training is lacking for the breakfast team also. Pushing open the fire exit doors to cool the restaurant down with no warning to us guests on a January morning so we are all immediately chilled isn’t a comfortable way to start a day, we weren’t wearing suits like the team.
The staff were really friendly and attentive at the Spa they made us feel most welcome and really lovely treatments to. This was the highlight of our stay.

Generally good value, however, everything is looking tired and run down, definitely not 4 star. Afternoon tea and restaurant were lovely and staff very helpful. Reception staff not particularly friendly, even commented in front of people that we’d booked an accessible room which was crass. The room itself was better than I’ve had previously, with air con. We ordered breakfast to our room which was missing items, which wasn’t great as there’s an £8 charge.
Spa area really needs an overhaul.. smells mouldy, tiles very stained in outside area, showers in changing room were unattached from the wall.
Generally needs some money spent and a good refurb.
From the outside looks a beautiful building, but in reality, rooms look like they’re in a conference centre with views over a dirty unkemp bin area.
All said, the deals are cheap, but I did come home with a UTI!
