From 11 to 24 August 2025, I stayed once again at the Engimatt City & Garden Hotel on Engimattstrasse 14. This was my second time here, and I must say, it still feels like a little haven in Zurich. The hotel may be on the expensive side, but for me, it’s worth every bit because of its convenience and comfort. Public transport is close by, and there’s a shopping mall and plenty of food outlets within easy reach, which makes life so much easier when staying for a longer period.
What I love most is the peaceful and quiet environment—it feels like a retreat from the city. My room was spacious, very clean, and had a lovely balcony where I could relax. Housekeeping did an excellent job keeping it spotless every single day. Over 13 nights, I really had no complaints, except for the occasional stomping of feet from the guests staying above me.
Breakfast quickly became one of my favorite parts of the stay. The spread was amazing, with so many options—smoked salmon, fresh juices, and a wide variety of fruits. Every morning felt like a treat, and it was the best way to start my day.
Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay here again. It’s a place I feel comfortable returning to, and I’d happily come back whenever I’m in Zurich.

Great location just outside the old town, only 10 mins by tram away.
Hotel clean and tidy. More business suited than leisure hotel.
Staff were very welcoming and helpfull with direction to tram.

The hotel is located in a quieter neighbour outside the Old Town, and has a nearby mall. It is also located near a “park connector” that takes you 20-30 minutes walk to Zurich Main station with scenic view of the Sihl river. Would stay here again in my next visit!
