Dorsett Shepherds Bush Hotel

This was my second visit to the Dorsett hotel in Shepherd’s Bush, having stayed there previously in 2024. I will not be returning. During my first stay in 2024, I was shocked by the cleanliness of the hotel room. The carpet was stained in several places, the room was extremely dusty, and many fixtures were covered in grime, indicating a lack of cleaning. The shower was again dirty with limescale and poorly cleaned around the edges of the shower door, issues that regular cleaning could prevent. The hairdryer was filthy and non-functional due to a buildup of fluff, dust, and hair. When I requested a replacement one morning, it still hadn’t been done by evening, necessitating another call to reception. The highlight of my previous stay was the breakfast, which was a delightful start to each day. Unfortunately, the hotel has outsourced this to the on-site restaurant providers, which has been a negative change. The breakfast was underwhelming and tasteless, and the restaurant environment was not pleasant. In 2026, I stayed for four nights in September. The first major issue was room allocation. After a 20-hour journey, I arrived at my room, 712, with luggage, only to find the key card didn’t work. I returned to reception with my luggage, and they issued a new key. Again, it didn’t work. I went back to reception, dragging my luggage, and the receptionist accompanied me to the room with her master key, but it still didn’t work. She asked me to wait while she returned to reception. As I waited, I heard movement in the room—strange. A cleaner passed by and asked if I needed help. I explained the situation, and she tried the room with her key, which also didn’t work. I suggested there might be someone in the room, she knocked, and someone opened the door. Unbelievable. Two different reception staff failed to realise the room was already occupied. Imagine if the key had worked! Completely unacceptable. The hotel seems to have addressed some cleaning complaints; however, I found dead bugs in a crevice in the room, and the bathroom sink had remnants from previous occupants. Disgusting, I won’t elaborate further. I came prepared with alcohol wipes and cleaned every surface, light switch, and handle in the room before settling in. The carpet was stained in areas. Honestly, hotel mgmt if you’re reading this, just replace with hardwood which is easier to keep clean. The room is spacious and has a decent-sized fridge and kettle. Unfortunately, the TV is not smart, so streaming is not possible. The water machines on each floor are excellent—a commendable sustainable initiative by the hotel. The hotel also provides larger Elemis products instead of mini toiletries, another positive sustainable move. A surprise was the hotel’s gym. Upon check-in, I was asked if I wanted gym access, to which I replied, asking what gym, and was informed that the hotel had installed one about a month earlier. I had checked the website for a gym before flying, and there was no mention. Odd. The gym is brand new, with well-functioning and clean equipment. They provided tissue and a sign asking users to wipe down equipment after use with cleaning spray and tissue, but there was no cleaning spray. I would not recommend this hotel.

All good, the manager went out of his way and looked after myself really well. Also new lad Charlie is a good - if he continues he will have a good future ahead. Thank you

We booked an Executive Suite at Dorsett Shepherd’s Bush for five nights and, overall, had quite an enjoyable stay. The hotel has plenty going for it, particularly its location, spacious rooms and comfortable beds. However, there are definitely some areas that need improvement. The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness and general maintenance of the room. The carpets were very dirty, particularly behind the curtains, where it looked as though they hadn't been vacuumed in quite some time. The windows were also covered in smudges. The decor felt rather outdated, with peeling wallpaper and very dim lighting. While the lighting may be intentional, the room was particularly dark in the evenings. The bathroom could also do with some attention. The shower door didn't seal properly, meaning the bathroom floor flooded whenever we used it. Several tiles were damaged or missing, one sink had a large crack, and the other had a broken plug that was stuck in place. The bath's cold tap was also incredibly difficult to turn on. On the positive side, there was plenty we enjoyed about our stay! Despite reading complaints online, our air conditioning worked perfectly. The bed was extremely comfortable, although its base was badly torn. The suite itself was very spacious, and the hotel's location was excellent, with convenient transport links and plenty to do nearby. The park view, however, wasn't particularly impressive, so I wouldn't recommend paying extra for it. It's also worth mentioning that the hotel requires a deposit upon arrival, ranging from £50 to £100 depending on the length of your stay. You can opt out of daily housekeeping, although given the cleanliness of our room on arrival, this is definitely an area where the hotel could improve. Overall, we had a good five-night stay and would give Dorsett Shepherd’s Bush 4 out of 5 stars. The comfortable bed, spacious suite, working air conditioning and fantastic location made our visit enjoyable. However, the cleanliness, dated decor and bathroom maintenance let the experience down somewhat. With a little more attention to detail and some much-needed maintenance, this could be an excellent hotel. We'd consider staying again, but would hope to see improvements to the standard of the rooms.

Availability of room is not good for 3people. 1bed is just a foldedbed that you can feel the spring in your back. We paid for 3people in a room with real comfortable bed but its good only for two. Not recommendable. And we waited 2hours for the availability of our room. From 3pm to 5pm check in. Its very disappointing stay,1st time to experience of the hotel like this..
