    1st time stay at the hotel, staff were great and professional. Room was a good size and couldn't hear the outside world through the windows. Good variation of food on the menu's.

    We booked this hotel on a Bed & Breakfast basis as we were attending an army reunion do at the nearby British Legion. Checking in on arrival was very quick. Room was very spacious and clean. We used both the gym and the swimming pool which were great. be mindful only one small changing room Towels for the leisure facilities. provided from Reception. On a weekend, the bar has a happy hour between 3 pm and 6 pm where some bottled beers are £3 and certain wine and spirits are only £4 which includes the mixer. Bargain! (mid week the happy hour is between 5 pm and 6 pm only). The cooked breakfast was one of the best we’ve had anywhere.

    The staff were fantastic. Very helpful and caring. It’s clean, the bar and food is good. Easy access to the canal down a few steps. Merry Hill shopping centre is a 10 minute walk and the taxi company was of good value (20 minute journey for £20)! I didn’t try the pool.

    Hotel was nice, I would question the 4 star rating. Rooms were in need of maintenance, a good size but felt well used and dirty in places. The wireless charging facility was a nice touch in the rooms and they had decent room amenities. We were roomed above the function suite at the front of the building which was a nightmare - very lively due to weddings and functions all weekend, the room was very hot so we needed the windows open as the small stand up fan was not sufficient cool the room so not a lot of sleep over the weekend. Pool and gym facilities were a nice distraction from the lack of sleep, however the pool does not permit children in past 19:00 which was a shame as we booked the hotel specifically for the pool which was disappointing for our 5yr old. Staff in the bar and restaurant were lovely.
