Arava Retreat Danang Oceanfront

We have an amazing accommodation in Arava that was truly worth every penny. The facilities were excellent, and the location couldn't have been more convenient—it was close to restaurants, tourist attractions, and transportation, making it easy to get everywhere. Honestly, I wanted to keep this place a secret, but it's simply too good not to share. It's rare to find an accommodation that offers this much value for the price. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the entire staff was just as friendly and accommodating. You can genuinely feel that they prioritize their guests' comfort and go above and beyond to help with anything you need during your stay. Another huge plus is the laundry area, so you don't have to pack too many clothes. It's especially convenient if you're staying for several days. Overall, this is one of the best value-for-money accommodations we've experienced. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vietnam!

One thing I learned growing up poor is that clean has nothing to do with money. Clean is a sense of pride in ownership and in one's self. Mosquitos must stay free at Arava, there were more inside the room and lobby than when one sits to have dinner outside. Even trying to have a conversation with the staff (of the coffee shop) there were so many swarming around I had to walk away. It took me three days to get rid of them in the room. On the staff, there are people who work in the coffee shop, there is a housekeeper who you will deal with when you check in, and a "manager" who receives the messages via Zalo who you will never meet. When booking the room I sent a message stating how a "clean" room was the ONLY thing I cared about because I was moving here and had a lot of things to deal with and needed rest. Well they never replied but did confirm my reservation after I sent a direct email. The room was top-to-bottom COVERED in mold. The decor, the wood wall behind the bed, every crevice between the ceiling tiles, the entire bathroom walls absolutely everything. I spent days soaking things in hydrogen peroxide and by my third day I was on medication due to this. By this time I had thought i killed it all and needed to find another hotel for a few days before my home was ready. Not only had the "manager" not done a single thing except say "im sorry" about the situation but then tried to charge me MORE than my initial rate to extend my stay. Which worked out fine because I discovered the next day that the ceiling was also covered in mold. The shower was so filthy, you can see in the photos where I wiped my finger, it looks black or wet but thats just where I wiped my finger and removed the built up dirt. The first thing I did when checking in was mop the floor and ask that "housekeeping" not return to the room during my stay because if this was the standard of housekeeping and the hotel then I would prefer they stay away. It should be a crime to rent rooms that risk the health of guests. Don't just walk but RUN away from this place. Guests shouldn't be asked to "be understanding" of paying to stay in filth with swarms of mosquitos. The owner has no pride, the manager has no ability to manage or provide, the housekeeping has a standard of a slumlord. To end up at the hospital because you stayed here is NOT on anyone's holiday plan. Whoever rated this place 10 on Agoda must be living in a mud hut. That is the reason I chose this hotel over many other options yet I ended up staying at two other hotels in the week following and both were less expensive and free of mold. They also were rated lower on Agoda for cleanliness.
