Brilliant start to our holiday, great place to stay in Camps Bay

Fantastic set up around pool area and overlooking Camps Bay on one side and Table Mountain on the other. Nice, spacious room and bathroom leading out to private seating area and communal pool, but with only 5 rooms in the property, it was nicely sociable. Breakfast was good and served in an upstairs room overlooking Camps Bay and the sea. Honesty bar was provided with all drinks at very reasonable prices. Patricia, the hostess was always on hand if needed, and I particularly liked her dry sense of humour!! Would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

The only downside was the walk back up from town, as it was quite steep, However, having had dinner and a few glasses of the local red wine, it was far easier to get an Uber which are very cheap and very plentiful, so no issues at all.

Absolutely stunning place! The Ocean Lounge in Camps Bay exceeded all expectations. The facilities are excellent, and the extra touches in the room really made a difference – from the beach bag and beach towels to all the thoughtful little details that made our stay so comfortable. The location is perfect, just a 10-minute walk to the main strip in Camps Bay, making it easy to enjoy the restaurants, shops, and the beach while still having a peaceful place to return to. It’s excellent value for money and truly feels special. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Camps Bay!

Great guest house!

Location is great, walking distance to beach, shops and restaurants in Camps Bay. Pool and outdoor area are the perfect spot to relax after exploring Cape Town. Breakfast was delicious.

Room was quite bright at night, not a problem if you have an eye mask.

The property was absolutely stunning.. clean, fresh and just so beautiful. If we could have stayed for longer we would have. The rooms cleaned daily, the breakfast delicious, very easy to get Ubers and to drive in any direction from.

Beautiful sunset views

Beautiful hotel with breath-taking views from the living/dining room and balcony. Very calm and quiet neighbourhood. Lovely continental breakfast (with eggs cooked to order). Very friendly owner and staff. The owner is dedicated to creating a beautiful home for his guests, and we really did feel at home here! My friend and I were there at the very beginning of the season, so had the place to ourselves. The swimming pool looked beautiful (but water was too cold when we there so we didn't use it). This would be a good place to come to with a group of family/friends as if you book all the rooms you can have it to yourselves and it's a really lovely place for a gathering. Would love to come back.

It was a little tricky to find at first as you can't see the name of the hotel from the road - so look for the address (the no. 3 on the building) rather than the name when you're approaching by taxi as it's in a residential area. However, once you know where it is, it's very easy. And only a 10-15 min walk to Camps Bay Beach, which is very convenient.

This was the perfect start to our holiday in S.Africa. Not too far from airport and close to the beautiful Camps Bay. Patrizia was very informative. Her acccomodation was spacious and had a stunning view.

Fabulous place to stay, excellent continental style breakfast. Superb views from breakfast terrace. Room 2 pool view room 5 private terrace. Great lounge and dining area. The manager Patricia was very kind and helpful. A wonderful experience.

So good I repeated the experience. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Breakfast was a mini work of art. Exotic fruits, meats, cheeses and spreads served on beautiful crockery. Breads, jams and marmalades with pastries. A fresh fruit salad with cereals. Pod coffees and a variety of teas. All of these served to you as an individual diner. Not forgetting my usual two fried eggs every morning. Tea and coffee available throughout the day. A lot of thought has been put into the food choice. Don’t expect the usual English breakfast, embrace the Continental.

The staff team, the food, the views, the location, all incredible! We loved every minute of our stay here. Sundowners on the terrace with the amazing views, and lying by the pool in the beautiful gardens are hard to beat. Beautiful guest house.

Relaxed, we felt well looked after, gorgeous property with stunning views.

The property is an amazing location, only a few minutes walk to the gorgeous beaches of Camps Bay. Its beautifully kept, the rooms are lovely, ours had patio doors onto the pool area. The lady running everything, Patrizia is amazing ! so helpful, full of knowledge with some great recommendations and just lovely to speak with. Nothing was too much trouble. The whole property has a real relaxed and personal feel to it, I would 100% go back and recommend to travellers in Cape Town that are looking for a chilled but well looked after vibe. Also, the breakfasts were laid out amazing ! Set up in a way that you can mix with other guests and get to know people. Thanks again for an amazing stay !

a beatutiful place let down by cheap hostel management

First off - the property is impressive. It's a beautiful structure with very tasteful detail. One can tell that a lot of thought and care was put into the place. There is a common room where you can help yourself to drinks and mark what you had to add to your bill. Very reasonably priced too. This room leads out onto a big terrace with a stunning view onto the coastline. A continental breakfast is served at their lovely big table with fresh coffee, milk, yoghurt, a variety of bread, cold cuts and cheeses. There was a bowl of fresh fruit salad (on the first morning) and granola. All very nicely presented.

On our arrival, the host was having some heated discussion with a staff member (at the time we didn't even know who they were so we walked passed them to the entrance of the building). The host then greeted us and showed us our room and seemed to be friendly and accommodating. She explained the facilities and showed us around. the first morning we woke up to a wonderful breakfast spread (as above). Unfortunately they served margerine which was a real downer considering the quality of the rest of the spread, not to mention the rate of the room... Breakfast got progressively worse the consecutive two mornings as the same fruit salad was used for all three days (unappetizing on day 2, inedible on day 3), the bread was stale on day 2, cardboard on day 3. on our second night, we got back relatively late after dinner and drinks at the beach and ready for bed. We could hear there was a party going on. We didn't have a problem at first, as we assumed it would quieten down in due course to ensure guests could get a good night sleep which they are certainly paying for! The noise did not subside, instead it got louder. When I looked at the time to find out it was 4am, I had no patience left and went upstairs to share my thoughts and ask them to stop the noise to allow us to have a few hours of sleep before we check out. It again took a while. If Ocean Lounge had been a hostel, this would be something you might forgive but for this to happen at a high end resort is just completely unacceptable. We then met the host at breakfast who not only had no word of apology when I mentioned the party, she also shared with us that the occasion had been her friend's 40th and that she had indeed also been at the party until the early hours. She also then had the nerve to tell my husband off for leaving the lights on the previous night and used this as some kind of a justification for the nightly disturbance. Unbelievable.

We loved our stay at the Ocean Lounge, which was quiet, but also perfectly located for exploring!

The home was walking distance to the a very nice part of town and good restaurants. Our hosts were happy to provide useful guidance and advice on places to go and when to got here. We'd absolutely stay here again!
