Chalet Elza is a gem in the lovely Lauterbrunnen valley

Dave was a wonderful host. He picked us up at the train station and helped us with luggage. The chalet was charming and located in the most amazing spot with incredible views of the Lauterbrunnen valley. The place was cozy, clean, and comfortable. We were a group of 7 family members and stayed in the two apartments. Everyone absolutely loved Chalet Elza. We used the walking path into town and back and that made it all the more charming. Our stay was wonderful in every way!

Dave, our host, was exceptionally kind with our luggage and checking in to make sure everything was ok with our stay. We will greatly miss the cabin, the valley and Wilson, the cat.

Nothing we didn’t like, just a minor note to taller travelers that the Chalet has some low ceilings and doorways that can be a challenge if you’re not careful. Not a criticism, just an observation.

A comfortable, peaceful cottage 10 minutes from the station and supermarket in Lauterbrunnen.

We were met at the station by the host, who collected us and our bags in his car and drove us to the chalet. He had a baggage carrier to carry our bags up the path to the door, and showed us around, explaining how to use the washing machine and sauna and where the various outdoor cushions were. The property was really nice, and as shown in the photos. The property is a 10 minute walk, slightly up hill and up steps, from the station, but therefore downhill after you've been out all day, and along the river. Really quiet and peaceful.

Perhaps a bedside table in the twin room would have been nice, but everything else is lovely.

A nice accomodation with very attentive owners

I booked the Chalet Elza for a close friend and his family for a one week stay. They were driving in from Germany and were looking for accommodations that were close to Lauterbrunnen and included parking. I had read numerous reviews of the Chalet Elza and they all rated it excellent. From the time I booked it Dave reached out to me and answered all of my questions. The Chalet is only a 20 minute walk from Lauterbrunnen. It is easy to see that Dave and his wife Patricia have worked diligently to make sure that the chalet still retains its rustic charm but also has all the modern amenities. The facility includes a washer and dryer and also a sauna. Dave lives close which is always a plus these days with so many absentee owners. Even though I did not personally stay at the Chalet Elza, I toured it with Dave when we arrived in Lauterbrunnen. My friends are a husband and wife and 2 young children. They had nothing positive comments on their stay

The hosts were very helpful & accommodating. They helped us ferry our luggage over so that we can tour the town. The chalet was spacious & very welcoming. We had a great time there. Wished we could have stayed longer there.

Alpine hideaway

Beautiful property, requires a short walk through an alpine meadow to access. Wonderful beds, well equipped kitchen and nice porch area.

The low doorways and raised thresholds were a challenge.

The main level ceilings are extremely low and a hazard for anyone over 5'10". My friend and I constantly hit our heads on the beams. The only bathroom is extremely small and uncomfortable to use. Ceiling height needs to be mentioned upfront in the listing.

Perfect

A Truly Magical Stay at Chalet Elza! Our stay at Chalet Elza in Lauterbrunnen was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Dave, the host, who went above and beyond to make our experience smooth and memorable. He was extremely friendly, accommodating, and incredibly flexible—willing to pick us up and drop us off during both check-in and check-out, which made our travels so much easier. The chalet itself is stunning. Nestled in one of the most breathtaking valleys in the world, the view from the front of the property is absolutely jaw-dropping—straight out of a postcard. Every corner of the chalet was spotless, well-maintained, and felt safe and cozy. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into keeping the space neat, tidy, and welcoming. This stay was an unforgettable experience, and we can’t recommend Chalet Elza (and Dave!) enough. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Generally there is no things that was critical for us and I’m sure next time we can plan some details in advance.

It’s incredibly quiet place with a wood house of a dream - cozy beds with illustration, aromatic fireplace inside and outside the house, bbq place, big field for a private place spending. Manager Dave was so polite and friendly- all services he gave from heart. We felt cared for.

Maybe I have a lack of small children’s chair, in bath as mother of a small child. Also being pregnant we had some a need for taxi and food delivery as well.

Cosy, well equipped, quiet chalet, excellent hosts

Well equipped and cosy, like a home from home. Dave and Patricia have thought of everything. Dave gave some great recommendations, was super friendly and picked us up and dropped us at the train station, impeccable host. Chalet is only 15 min walk to town, along the river, which means you're close to everything without being in the busyness of Lauterbrunnen. Amazing views out of the windows!

Nothing, all excellent. However, beware the cat that is around, she is friendly and loves a stroke but avoid doing so when she lies down in front of you, you'll get a scratch!

Amazing winter escape. With all the comforts of home.

Was an idyllic chalet with gorgeous views and only about 800m from the town centre (can walk or there is a bus). Was very warm and comfortable. Our family of 4 loved it. Very close to ski slopes (we only tobogganed). Kitchen had everything you could need and was a washing machine and dryer. Great for a family with lots of washing to do.

The door frames are low and my husband repeatedly hit his head going through the bedroom door at night.

Quaint, peaceful, lots of amenities, garden is wonderful. Thoughtful and response owners. Pick up and drop off to train station was a nice treat. Loved the stay!

.70 mile walk to the train station. This didn’t bother us as it was a peaceful location, but if you needed to run by the chalet or drop something off, if is more challenging. Not an issue though for us! Just a heads up in case walking a lot is challenging for anyone.

Cosy and lovely, fully equipped kitchen, quiet neighbourhood, helpful host

It is cosy but also quite crowded for four people. The bathroom is quite small, the doorways of several rooms are low and my family keeps bumping their head throughout our stay for one night. At least some caution signage at the doorway and under the stairways at the kitchen would be helpful

Lovely chalet in a fabulous location

This was our second stay at Chalet Elsa and we enjoyed it just as much as we did the first time. The location is superb and within walking distance to Lauterbrunnen centre, the scenery stunning and the accommodation comfortable and cosy.

Chalet Elza…fantastic!

Loved the quaintness, the facilities (BBQ, table tennis table, hammock, Wilson the cat 😅)and we loved the peacefulness of being out in the countryside with a beautiful short walk into town. The Chalet is just wonderful! The owners were so lovely and very helpful too.

Exceptional

This adorable chalet provides cozy lodging and a tranquil setting. The kitchen is outfitted completely. The garden is a work of art. Dave picked us up at Bahnhof, took us to the chalet parking lot, and assisted us in bringing the bag into the flat. Dave was very understanding. Even though it's only 5 minutes from Lauterbrunnen's core, it offers a peaceful escape with stunning mountain views. Bus 142 departs from Lochbrücke, which is only a few minutes away from the chalet, every hour for Lauterbrunnen Bahnhof. We spent three days exploring the entire Jungfrau region.

I can't think of anything that we didn't like! I would recommend Chalet Elza to my friends and collegues.

It is a very nice chalet and would come again.

Dave was very nice and went above and beyond. The chalet is very pretty and had a lot of amenities included like free washing machine and dryer, kitchen with utensils, hair dryer, games, etc. It also had a very nice fire place. It is a 15 min walk into the main town and is a pretty walk as well.

The ceiling are on the low side. Might need to duck your head if you are too tall. The water gets cold if you wash your clothes. There were completely cold water when I showered for 15 min and it takes a while to boil up again.

The hosts were very hospitable and friendly... especially Dave who was connected with us right day before the journey and till dropping at the station. Found him to be really helpful and he went out of the way to give suggestions to ease our trip ...
