Cosy and relaxing, a wonderful stay!
A wonderfully cosy lodge, so well equipped for a week of hiking, kayaking and mountain biking. The conservatory was a real suntrap and much appreciated as a relaxing space in the afternoons. The Lodge was thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a great stay self-catering. Duck Bay is a short walk away, and both Luss Pier and Balloch are easily accessible by car for watersports.

Well appointed stay in a convenient location
Really convenient and quiet location. The apartment was really well appointed with everything I needed and the provision of key sundries like a pint of milk and small loaf were a really nice touch. Everything was really clean and the check in and out process straightforward.
The bathroom light was on a movement sensor which wasn’t triggered when in the shower so I often finished my shower in the pitch dark - I would suggest this is altered. The furnishings in the conservatory seem to have suffered from the heat and need re upholstering but this did not affect my stay in any way as I didn’t use the room.

Perfect!
Everything. My second booking at this property. Perfect location for working in Glasgow (just 40 minutes from city centre) and perfect for relaxing in a beautiful setting away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
No shears for spatchcocking a chicken (that’s a joke btw).

Comfortable stay, lovely surroundings, close to Luss.
A lovely, comfortable apartment with all you need, including a sunny conservatory. True to the description and pictures. Really good communication - Thank you Liz.
A lovely location but I thought we would be able to walk to the lake but private properties all around with no entry signs.

Lovely spot for a weekend with the other half
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed this lovely old 19th C building conversion. It has beautiful handcut stone walls exposed throughout the interior and well-maintained, high-quality features. I think the photos make it look darker and more cramped than it is (which is always a nice surprise!). If you're an architecture/renovation junkie, you'll love this spot. Though the furniture and decor were a bit worn and outdated, the lodge was very comfortable and well laid out. With the only bedroom on an open mezzanine level, it's really only comfortable for a couple, but with a lounge and large conservatory, it has a generous amount of living space for just two people. With the exception of a decent set of Russel Hobbs knives, the kitchenware was sparse and basic, but on par with most holiday lets at the same price point (in my experience). The location was perfect for attending a wedding at the Cruin, with a well-defined footpath all the way along to the venue. Yet it was quiet and secluded enough to feel like we were on a quiet getaway in between festivities. The bathroom light on a sensor left me soapy and in the dark a couple of times, but overall the lodge is comfortable and the managers helpful and communicative. I would definitely stay again.

beautiful property, cosy and good area. very clean and nice little welcome package in fridge ie bread juice wine !
bit of an issue getting Wi-Fi and tv to work as didn’t revive the welcome email (with codes + Wi-Fi) but for how much we used it it didn’t really matter, and staff helped by resending info.

A really pleasant stay in a gem of a cottage, in a great location.
Clean, cosy and comfortable and in our ideal location. There was everything we needed. We had a lovely welcome gift of wine & other goodies.
Location near a busy road, so hearing the traffic. No Sky TV & no DVD’s available.

Exceptional
We loved the location of the lodge, very convenient for trips to Luss, Balloch and Loch Lomond Shores. The lodge was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for the perfect weekend stay. The added bonus of essential food items and a bottle of wine was a lovely touch which we really appreciated.
We enjoyed it all.

Lovely peaceful break and Smiddy was comfortable and well equipped though a bit secluded.
Fantastic property and wine in fridge was a nice touch on arrival.
Location was only issue as it was a good 30 minute walk to nearest bar/restaurant (Duck bay inn),great though if you like to be away from it all.

Cosy apartment- great base for exploring Loch Lomond
Beautiful old building transformed into cosy apartment. Some lovely old features with brick walls and beams. Nicely decorated and furnished. It soon felt like our home for the week.
Welcomed with food supplies of bread milk etc and a bottle of wine. Very thoughtful.
Kitchen had supplies for dishwasher, washing machine, and cleaning products. New cloths and sponges provided.
Great base for exploring this area.
Local farmshop is a 5 minute drive and there are severest supermarkets close by.
Conservatory is nice to have and would be wonderful in the summer, although it does have a radiator so can be used all year.
Great shower- hot and powerful and big space.
Fully equipped and spacious kitchen.
Quirky mezzanine floor for the bedroom. Sky light with black out blind.
Large cupboard for hanging clothes and storing stuff located downstairs.
Disappointed on arrival. The photos suggest there is a garden with a pergola. There is not although this features in 3 photos. It’s actually belongs to a different lodge. It’s not a secluded lodge- it’s an apartment ajoined to several others which is not clear.
You don’t park outside your apartment- you park in a shared parking around the corner. However it’s only a minute walk and means there’s not cars everywhere.
The bed is small (double) and too firm for us. That and creaks in the house kept us awake a lot.
The shower- I was hoping this issue might have been resolved as I saw other reviews- the lights on a timer so it goes off when you are in there. You have to wave your wet arm out of the shower door in the pitch black to put it back on.
The stairs to the bedroom area are wooden and slippy- this is particularly problematic when stumbling for a wee in the night.
The cupboard/wardrobe area is effectively in the dining area. So that’s where you end up getting dressed and made up.
