Albergo La Rosetta

The hospitality of the staff is wonderful. It's very convenient location from and to the train station.

There's no fruit, juice and healthy staff on the breakfast menu. Mainly sweets that are not a good and nutrient breakfast. But we noted during our trip to several cities in Italy that this seems to be a cultural issue as it was the same everywhere.

The hotel is located a 2min walk from the station and restaurants etc. To walk up to the old hilltop town you need ca. 25min or get the bus. The hotel is very clean. I particularly liked the bathroom that was spacious and very modern. The room itself was furnished in an 80’s decor. Although I booked a double room with a balcony I received a triple room with a window that was half way blocked by a wall of another building. The aircon was working well. There was a kettle and free instant coffee/tea. However, there was no fridge in the room which I missed a bit. Breakfast was typically Italian with a sweet croissant and some cakes, juice, yogurt and freshly made coffees. The ladies working at the albergo were all very friendly — but not multilingual. Though I speak Italian I found it challenging to get the checkin info in a telephone call in Italian. As Chiusi is frequented by many tourists as a base I expect the staff to speak basic English at least (I overheard other tourists struggling with the communication).

-Wasn’t given a room with balcony as booked and wasn’t given an explanation or an excuse - a shared bathroom was located next to my room where people had late showers and the noise of the “traffic” next door was annoying when I wanted to sleep.

The genuinely warm welcome by the host. The crisp sheets and pillow-case. The breakfast. Great air-conditioning. Good, hot water.

The hotel was a good value, clean, and close to the train station. The beds were very comfortable. Overall the hotel was serviceable and the staff polite. They didn't speak any English, used Google translate. We spoke a little Italian, so we got by.

No one was available to meet us when we arrived. The lobby was dark and the door was locked. We didn't have instructions for how to contact them. We were standing outside in the rain with our luggage. A passer-by told my husband, in Italian, to press some buttons on a keypad and he was able to contact the staff and access the code to get in. Once we got inside, a key was waiting on a table in the foyer and we went to our room. A staff member came to greet us and show us how to turn up the heat. The room was small. We were only there for one night, and for one night it was fine.
