Fantastic, memorable location, but you really have to hound Vacasa to confirm that appliances and features are present and in working order. I tried my best to do that before we arrived, based on recent reviews, and some things had been fixed/replaced, but we still found the oven didn't work, and some of the dining chairs had gone missing.

We folded out the couch first day and the sheets were sandy with wet berries in them so we washed them. The dryer was broken so when I texted vacasa about it, they quickly and politely replied that the local maintenance would reach out. They never did, I repeatedly checked in and they never did and never followed up. It was clear the owner of the property hadnt stayed here with their family in sometime as major repairs were needed. One of the windows in the primary would close and the screen was missing. The toilet quit working along the way. There was also a steady stream of ants to the sinks and we saw at least 3 roaches. All in all, pretty view, but not taken care of at all and no assistance on the trip except being politely blown off each time I reached out.

The view and location were great, but the house was falling apart and management wouldn’t help. The first day we arrived, we folded out the couch and the sheets were full of sand and berries so we through them in the wash. The dryer was busted and when I texted Vacasa multiple times they always politely responded with apologies and that the local maintenance team would reach out, but they never did or follow up. One of the toilets also broke and one of the screens was missing from the primary and the louvre style window wouldn’t shut. There was a steady stream of ants to every sink and we saw several roaches throughout the week. It was clear that the owner had not stayed here with their family in some time or it is owned by a business. It was very much like camping. Also, the furniture and set up aren’t the same as the photos as if it was staged for the photos then some furniture removed.

Loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing but to say the house needs TLC is an understatement. Fridge is on it's last leg and makes a loud noise, dryer can only dry one towel at a time or it shuts off, the spigot controls on both showers come off when turned. We needed sheets for the pullout couch and called and texted the customer service number multiple times, 3 days in a row and were reassured that they would be delivered. On the third day we took a half day of our vacation and drove to the other side of the island to purchase our own sheets. There was never any follow up as promised either from Vacasa customer service or the local management. Thankfully we didn't have any emergency issues because I doubt there would have been any support at all. My family was so excited for this vacation but this house was unfortunatey a disappointment

Great home. Some people are concerned about A/C which most places on the north shore don’t have. Temps were just fine along with the breeze. Basically a private beach at your fingertips. Beautiful views, cannot beat them. Will be staying again.

Beautiful views, feet from the ocean. The ocean spray would hit you on the porch occasionally. Waves are very loud and drowns out the road traffic. The beach was a little too rough to swim when we were there. 1/4 mile up the road was a great swimming beach. It's a little tough getting out the driveway. The house needs a lot of TLC. Deck furniture is nothing like the photos, no table/chairs or table or chase lounges. Laundry room photos are old, dryer is rusty. We would never stay there again. The security camera, if it is working, looks directly into the bathroom window.

This house was an incredible stay. The waves crashing lulled my husband and I to sleep every night. I was worried about there being no A/C, but that never proved to be an issue because the weather is absolutely perfect. We were happy with the amenities provided. I would 100% recommend this house to friends and family. We also enjoyed being on the north shore and having Hanalei just a short drive away.

This is a well-loved home by the ocean and all that entails. Saltwater does what it does to all things by the sea. So go in knowing that. As for the view of this home, it doesn’t get any better than the view you get with this home. It feels like you have your own private beach for the most part. Very few people walked this part of the beach. The sound of the waves was great to fall asleep to. It was nice to come home from the beach and be able to wash the sand off your feet or use the outdoor shower under the back lani. Plenty of beach towels are provided and plenty of shower towels. If you get low all you need to do is a load or two; as there is a washer, dryer and some laundry detergent provided. There were plenty of seasonings for cooking in the home. Great places to eat just a short drive away. There are some maintenance issues that need addressing. Such as the siding on the back lani, ants, some window slates not working, and sliding glass doors sticking. The pictures show two outdoor chaise lounges, an outdoor table and chairs, a cooler and the write up talked about bikes. These items are no longer in the home. The snorkel gear doesn’t work. We cleaned all of them and tried them. Most leak. So you will have to rent or buy some nearby. Goggles, fins and body boards work well. Plenty of toys for little ones if you bring them along. Handles in the shower near the downstairs king bedroom keep falling off the hot, cold and shower handle. Even with all the maintenance issues, we loved the home overall and would still rent this property in the future. We do wish this home had AC. I am a cancer survivor who still has to do chemo pills etc. So the home was extra warm for me. We purchased 3 box fans to get me through. We left those fans with the rental property as our gift to future renters and the homeowners. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Very comfortable beds, even the pull out couch. Well stocked for cooking and a day at the beach, enough snorkel gear for 2. Very nice place though dated plumbing and decor. There are only 4 kitchen chairs, the access to local beaches is fantastic, it has a grill on the deck, definitely buy your fish from the big save market and grill yourself, the local restaurants are just ok, and very crowded. Hanelei is getting a bit crowded, it was nice to be further up the road.

The home is in a gorgeous location which will be hard to beat - the view out of the lanai was gorgeous - especially at sunrise! Steps to the beach. The house was spotless when we arrived. The towels and sheets were great. And the beach items (a box full of swim mask and fins, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.) where a great addition. Yes, we would go again but just don't expect a new home. There are a few items that need some love.

This property is right on the Beach past Hanalei on the island of Kauai. My Wife absolutely loved falling asleep to the sounds of the Ocean. I even got an amazing picture of the Moonlight reflecting off the Ocean.

You cannot beat the location. You are right on the beach which is almost always private except for the occasional walker in the mornings and evenings. The rocks on the right of the ocean are great to walk around on and has a geyser that shoots water up when the waves hit. Tunnels beach is within walking distance on the beach and has absolutely amazing snorkeling. The road is fairly loud but the beach waves are louder drowning it out. Sleeping is great with the sound of the ocean. Plenty of room for a large family. The home does need some updates but is stocked with essentials and has plenty of beach gear. Research the area before you go as there seems to be a higher crime level.

Well equipped. Fabulous view. Very dangerous getting out of driveway lower oven not functioning correctly. Dryer did not work. Two louver doors very difficult to open and close Refrigerator door was opening on its own. Great family place. Tons of towels for beach. All and all we loved it

This was an adult vacation and the property did not disappoint. The house was well stocked with towels, toys, tiki torches and chairs. The sunrises were spectacular and we are considering making this an annual trip. The only disappointment was that it ended too soon!!!!

We traveled with 2 other couples and the location of the property was perfect for us. Right on the water with the sounds of the ocean was lovely and peaceful. The property is tired and in need of maintenance. Some examples: grill was unusable, bikes on back porch are rusted, locked up and unusable even though listed as part of amenities, trash from a bike that has not been put together on back porch as well, Stovetop cracked, outside screens falling off, fixtures rusted throughout house. The smoke alarm was not working properly and we were told to unplug for our stay. All communication to management company is AI and not a real person. Dryer vent blows debris from dryer into one bedroom so it is covered in dryer lint. Common area needs more seating than a single couch, Bedrooms were nice and bathrooms were nice other than rusted fixtures. Keypad entry was tedious as it’s a 10 digit code and is required to open and lock the door each time entering or leaving.

Overall was a good experience. Location was awesome and had amazing views, especially the sunrises. Not sure how it is year round but the beach behind the house was too rough for swimming during our stay. Kitchen was well stocked, plenty of pots/pans/silverware. Tons of beach towels and great beach toys/chairs etc. The only negatives were the beds were below avg and the bathrooms are in need of updating(new shower heads, faucets, bathtubs reglazed). Ultimately the good outweighed the bad and was a solid 4 star stay

The beachfront location is perfect for anyone looking to relax by the water but also be surrounded by some of the most amazing sights in Kauai (Kalalau Trail, Hanalei Bay, etc.). We had a few maintenance issues during out but had good communication with the local manager.

Lovely home with a view! They made our honeymoon feel so special and am already looking forward to staying with them the next time we go. Close enough to a little town, yet far enough feel like a getaway from everyone else. Super family friendly with lots of space and amenities, if you’re second guessing it just book! The beach house was perfect for our stay in Kauai for our honeymoon. Great location and it felt secluded with your own beach, but plenty of food options were right down the road. Very relaxing and we got some great hiking in as well at the state park. 10/10 recommend!!

We loved our house and it’s location. Right on the water with waves crashing outside our windows. Our own private beach was incredible. Everything was fabulous about the trip. My only things I would improve were the screen doors are getting rusty and the refrigerator needs to be replaced it’s on its last leg.

My husban and I and our two girls age 11 and 6 spent a week in this gorgeous spot. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises and beach time during the day and listened to the waves at night. Each bedroom has a wonderful and unique view. It is minutes away from swimming friendly beaches. We loved that it was secluded and quite private. Our whole family can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful home in an amazing location on the north shore of Kauai. Other reviews talked about “breezes”… let me be more clear. There is no A/C, as in most places in Kauai. August days are hot and long, and the house has direct east sun exposure, so sunrises are AMAZING, but after the sun comes up it gets really hot, like 80 degrees inside the house, even with all the windows/doors open, fans on, and shades drawn. Just be prepared, that’s all I’m saying. Beautiful house and bedrooms, well-equipped kitchen with plenty of pots/pans/utensils for cooking, and an amazing drip coffee maker. New wall microwave/oven, good dishwasher, but the refrigerator needs to be REPLACED. I’m sure the owners will do that soon. Lots of beach gear available, which was great. The marble and wood detail in the home are really beautiful. Only other thing to mention is that all beaches in Hawaii are public, so there were two people sleeping on the beach around the house. We didn’t have any issues, but just be sure to lock your cars and doors.

We loved our time there. The home is so close to the beach that you can hear the surf. It’s actually so close that we had to close windows at night just the dampen the sound of the Surf. You pretty much have the beach to yourself. There are only a couple houses on it and not readily accessible to the general public. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils. Lots of coffee filters in the pantry. The view from every room, including some of the bathrooms is incredible. There is a small grocery store in Hanalei that is well stocked. There are also several local restaurants and souvenir stores.

You are pretty much at the end of the road on the north shore so decent little drive to Lihue which is the main town on the island. Road to the home can be a little harrowing at night with several 1 lane bridges but by the end of our stay I got comfortable with it. If you want a home away from hustle and bustle and with a view to die for this is the place

Stylish, airy 3BR beachfront house on secluded stretch of beach 15 minutes west of Hanalei. Large dining table with 3 benches comfortably seats 6 on lanai overlooking lanai, and there is large indoor dining table as well. Living room sofa only seats 3-4, kitchen is well-equipped but small. Nice beach towels, washer and dryer worked well. Property management company promptly addressed odor from septic tank. Our family of 5 (3 adult children) enjoyed our stay, but there are a few reasons I give the house only 4 stars: 1) In January, strong surf precluded going in water anywhere near house, which was tantalizing in a beachfront house. Closest safe swimming was 15 minute drive away on east shore of Hanalei Bay, which has view of backs of hills of Napali Coast. View from house is ENE toward Princeville. In January, with sun in south, we could not see either sunrise or sunset from house. 2) Deferred maintenance. Exterior of fridge is covered in rust. Fridge should be replaced. Handle to overhead shower below lanai has rusted off, though foot shower to rinse sand off your feet still works. 3) It's not clear from pictures of house on website that there is no shower in the 2nd floor bedroom, which is largest bedroom in house (it does have a Jacuzzi).

This house was amazing!! It’s steps from the beach. Beautiful views from all the decks. The beach is pretty private and a quite oasis from the busier beaches. They have body boards and snorkel equipment for you to use. Would highly recommend this house to everyone visiting Kauai. I personally love the location.
