Hawaiian Island Beachfront cottage with an incredible location on the North Shore of Kauai in between Hanalei and Haena close to Tunnels. The 3/4 acre property features a large sandy beach point. Some of the islands best snorkeling and shelling right out front of the house. This 2 bed 2 bath home has covered lanais offering unmatched views of the Pacific Ocean and stunning surrounding Mountains. The home has an expansive lush green grassy yard with coconut and ironwood trees flowing in the cool tradewinds. This home features upper living room (w/ sofa sleeper), dining room, kitchen and huge wrap-around lanai with bbq for you to dine, relax and watch the waves rain or shine. Downstairs features 1 king bedroom leading to another private 1 king en suite primary bedroom with its own private lanai. Also downstairs are a second full bath and large laundry room. This property is in a tsunami zone.

- [ ] We arrived the day of the tsunami. The owners were super friendly and kept us in the loop every step of the way. The home did have everything stocked like your primary home. However, it does need some updating. A few unpleasant rusty things around the home. If you need a cool house, definitely find a different home. We thought the ocean winds would keep the house cool. In the afternoon it was too warm and humid for us to stay inside. The home clearly states there is no AC. We are from Texas so we are accustomed to AC. It was extremely warm and humid some nights where sleeping was uncomfortable even with all the fans running and windows open. Also, we had a strange man come park inside our drive way a few times. It was startling as I have two teen girls going in and out of the house and I was concerned for their safety to find a man just walking on the property. The owner was notified and was unaware this was happening and told us they would correct this issue. The TV is also broken so the perfect home to unwind with just the gorgeous ocean. The home definitely is in a perfect location on the beach. If you can forgo AC, definitely stay here for the location.

Property was pretty much perfect in terms of location and beach access. The interior was comfortable with everything one might need in a home. We cooked the entire 5 days which was very convenient. The sunrise and sunset were beautiful each day. Late night star viewing was amazing due to it being pitch black and no light pollution. There were plenty of beach toys, chairs, snorkels, ice chest and a much needed umbrella. I was worried about the lack of air conditioning in the property prior to arrival. It was not bad at all, even in 90 degree weather. 100% would return.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful beach property—spotless, well-equipped, tastefully decorated, and just steps from the ocean. The location was perfect for a peaceful getaway, and Dave and Nicki went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their excellent communication and warm hospitality made the experience truly special. One of our favorite vacations—can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful beautifully maintained beach home close to Hā’ena State Park, Tunnels beach and minutes to Hanalei. We enjoyed meals on the wrap around porch with views of the ocean and Mount Makana, lounging in the hammock, playing games in the large beachfront yard. If you’re looking for a quiet location, with all the comfort of home that’s close to outdoor activities and surrounded by pure Kauai beauty, Kepuhi Kai, is the spot for you! Nicki and Dave are excellent hosts who communicate well and provide a great deal of information about the surrounding areas and things to do. It surely helped us have an incredible time!

This place is pretty special. The lanai is worth the price alone....we spent a ton of time just watching the waves and relaxing. Then walk 50 yards to an awesome beach that is not very crowded at all.

We spent most of the vacation just lounging and reading on the porch, where you see the ocean behind a beautiful mature tree on the property. If you look off in the other direction you see the mountains. Truly a great piece of land, and we love to snorkel every morning just a mile down the road. It was sad to leave. I also have to note that somehow this area was free of roosters, and for me that was an unexpected bonus.

This house was ideally for our group. The view of the ocean and reef from the deck was perfect and we loved the easy direct access the this beautiful beach. It was obvious that the owners put care and consideration into the property and cleanliness.

Wasn't too sure about the bedrooms layout ( you have to pass through one or go outside to get to the kitchen area), but we adapted and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We got up for the morning sunrise and visited with other regulars on the beach. I met Vinnie, immediately, (dog) who greets all. Im a dog walker at a shelter so this was a bonus. The raised wrap around deck offered a beautiful view and we played many games of Farkle there, even when it was pouring. Being a wildlife lover, I enjoyed walking down to the tide pools, where aquatic life has a special habitat. (They don't live in the ocean, just tide pools). I'd want to go back on a future visit.

This is a little slice of Paradise, a special property. We felt it was ideal for a couple, or family as one bedroom must be passed through to reach the other. Not a privacy problem for us. We visited in the winter, so like all HI islands, the waves, winds and currents on the north shore were intense. You must be careful and smart about swimming in the bay. That said, we love Hawaii rain or shine, and sat on the beach and swam every day. We tracked the tides, which we are used to doing. We can't wait to come back in the summertime. You should also be aware of the weather and bridges for flooding and construction, but we experienced no problems. We loved that the house was in a quiet neighborhood, 15mn from town. We enjoyed the farmers markets, restaurants, and a great fish market. We "cooked" minimally. It absolutely met expectations. No bait and switch here. The hosts were communicative and lovely.

Beach front at its finest. Our grandkids came to visit as they live here and loved playing on the large grassy area and then walking down the path to a wonderful beach where shell hunting is a blast. The home Is very comfortable and has everything you need. Enjoyed the quiet morning sunrises and you can go to sleep with the sound of the waves. Just Lovely

Great, secluded location. Steps from a beautiful beach with great snorkeling. Outdoor deck / patio with seating for 6 was perfect. Great washer ans dryer - will definitely use a lot of you’re in and out of the water frequently. Views of ocean and mountains. A bit out of the way, which is both a plus and a negative depending on how you look at things. The only real negative is the actual home is a bit outdated and not well ventilated in parts of the house.

What's not to love? A beach right on the property with lots of fish, a couple of green turtles and a monk seal on the last day!! This was a perfect place to celebrate my 94 year old father's last hurrah. We all loved it!

We loved this perfect location on the North Shore. We snorkled right out front of the house and saw many turtles, some rays and fish. Felt like we were on our own island. The house is clean, comfortable, private and has amazing views. Couldn't have asked for anything more! We hope to stay here again!

We loved our stay in this beautiful location and home. Everything was as described and even better. The house is well equipped with everything we needed. Loved the bikes and all the beach chairs. Enjoyed our sunrise walks on the beach and our morning coffee on the fabulous lanai. A perfect house for a relaxing Kauai getaway! Nikki the host was very responsive and helpful. We've been coveting this house for a couple years now and finally got to stay in it! It's the best north shore rental we've stayed in yet. Our favorite snorkeling beach is in the backyard, the wraparound lanai puts others to shame, the view is gorgeous, the kitchen had every type of utensil and dish and gadget we needed (except steak knives), the spice cupboard is stocked, the decorating aesthetic is perfect, the washer and dryer were high-tech pleasures, and there were plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, plus two boogie boards, two swim noodles, and even some bicycles. I loved looking through all the little dishes of sea shells around the house and the collection of old postcards in a box. There was a Bluetooth speaker to use, a medium-sized soft-sided cooler, and the propane grill works great! Nice that everything stayed dry in this house (most beach houses have constantly damp bedding, furniture, etc)! However, that may be due to the lack of cross-breezes, meaning the wet air just wasn't making it into the house. It was uncomfortably warm inside every day, but we'd just go sit on the deck instead or directly in front of one of several electric fans. The master BR stayed cool enough for sleeping at night, with the aid of the ceiling fan. Didn't use the middle bedroom, but it was more private than I'd thought it would be. I knew you'd have to walk through it to get to the master bedroom, but it turns out there is also an outdoor route available. Beautiful,relaxing stay!

Our stay in this home was wonderful. The views from the deck are stunning and the house is so comfortable. The proximity to Hanalei was great. Such a charming little town! You can walk all the way down to Tunnels Beach with other snorkeling opportunities in between. I can’t attest to the snorkeling behind the house as there was a brand new baby monk seal and the beach was closed. Super cool to see that as it is a rare happening. The beds were all comfortable, even the sofa sleepers. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. Beach toys and boogie boards were nice to have as well. The kids enjoyed the Bocce Ball set quite a bit too! The owner’s communication was quick and responsive, which I appreciated. Overall, it was a beautiful home and we would absolutely come back!

We had a fantastic week at this well-appointed and lovely house. Situated directly on the ocean every room features an incredible view of the water. Town was a quick trip away, enabling us to grab groceries at the store or farmer's market and prepare meals in the well stocked kitchen. Arriving and checking out were a breeze, and communication with the owner could not have been better. Already looking forward to returning!

If location is key, this place has the keys to the kingdom. The house: I was very close to booking a place 2 doors down that had more luxury interiors, and looked a bit newer, but I chose this house instead and was happy I did. It has a great beach feel, and a fully appointed kitchen. The deck was perfect and most evenings we were out there looking out at the. view and grilling dinners. The lawn is great and the kids played outside all day back and fourth to the beach. Snorkeling 200 feet from the house is great and the reef is in decent shape. If the owners replaced the floors to hardwood, and put in a new kitchen, they could charge double...I hope they don't! The location: We stayed at the Hotel 1 for a couple nights before we landed here...getting to the house was a breath or fresh air. Perfect location. No elevators to the beach, no overpriced smoothies. The North Shore is awesome. Slow and mellow beach time with nice rainstorms in the afternoons. A+.

We enjoyed our stay here, the beach is practically the backyard with great snorkeling and calm waters. We saw turtles and a seal. The decor was modern and there were ample supplies. We didn’t want to leave! Location is also perfect for surfing nearby.
