unfortunately the property had nothing to offer for a child, we came for a week with a three year old, there wasn't any swings or slides :(

Off the beaten path, and well worth it!

Eric was an outstanding host. He was instantly friendly, helpful with suggestions about local sites, and went out of his way to make us feel at home. The cottage was well appointed (including the kitchen) and spotless; and the grounds were amazing: from the vintage stone barn to the grove of trees and surrounding grass field, we felt very secluded and relaxed. And we made generous use of the barbecue! We would definitely return to Le Marite!

I would recommend adding some more comfortable furniture for sitting inside the cottage.

Everything we wanted and then some :))

Le Marite was everything we wanted and more. It's situated amid fields down a winding country lane. We would awake each morning to distant rooster crows from the farm nearby and the smell of new-mowed hay. The picturesque village of Sartilly is 3km away and has a boulangerie, patisserie, pharmacy, mini-Carrefour, and on the outskirts, a petrol station and Super U with everything else one could possibly want. I especially appreciated Le Marite's well-equipped kitchen, which had excellent cooking utensils, dishwasher, oven and inversion stove-top as I was doing a lot of cooking. (We were here for a family reunion with the bulk of the family staying near the beach in Champeaux, 6 km away.) Le Marite is beautifully designed to make maximum use of a relatively small space. The decor is restful and pleasing. The comfy queen-sized bed is up a flight of stairs, along with the modern glassed-in shower (excellent water pressure) and sink. There's a loft above with twin beds up a spiral staircase (perfect for agile kids but not for old people with wonky knees like us). One tiny drawback is that the toilet is on the main floor but we rapidly got used to this and appreciated the bit of extra exercise. Eric and Frederique are perfect hosts and very helpful. We'd happily stay at Le Marite again.

Séjour au calme au coeur de la campagne normande, j'ai pu me reposer et me ressourcer. Cela m'a rappelé pleins de souvenirs d'enfance. Les hôtes ont été exceptionnels, souriants et accueillants. Ils seront rendre votre séjour agréable, je recommande. Si vous êtes amoureux des vielles pierres et du bocage normande, ce gîte est fait pour vous. Le gîte est très bien équipé, tout ce qu'il faut pour passer un excellent séjour avec le chant des oiseaux en fond sonore.
