Vista Del Mare Rooms

Pretty good stay overall. Room was pretty spacious and had a couch, fridge and AC. All was in good shape. It was quiet and dark in the room. Lots of free parking close by, please note that Google Maps will not show you where to go correctly. Map to for parking and take the stairs down: 37°33'49.9"N 22°48'42.4"E

Owner did not speak English but that was okay. Not easy to find.

The location is very good, next to a church and a free parking lot, with a beautiful view of the port from the balcony. When looking for the Vista del Mare you should go to the church (Evaggelistrias, from the 25is Martiou street) in front of which there is also the parking lot, some GPSs try to direct you there through the narrow streets from the town side where you get stuck.

There is a kitchenette but unfortunately without a coffee maker or an electric kettle, boiling water for tea or instant coffee has to be prepared in a saucepan on a small electric heater, both available there.

the balcony is perfect to relax.

The bed is very unconfortable, we hardly slept because of the squeaking. It screams for replacement.

Pros : The owner was quick to respond in the booking.com chat. The villa caretaker was also very sweet, friendly & kind. Nothing but positive words for him. The view was a sea view, and lovely. It had a kitchenette & a sink which could be usefull.

Cons : 1. This place is not for people with mobility issues. There are several steps down to reach the villa from the parking area, and our room was on the 2nd Fl up a narrow, spiral staircase. Not luggage friendly. 2. The bathroom. No place to hang shower head, so you have to physically hold on to the shower with 1 hand. The bathroom light didn't work, the shower door was always stuck & difficult to open & close. I didn't request repairs because we only stayed 1 night, but I feel this could have been avoided if the rooms were properly checked before arrival. 3. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in. Thin, hard, knobbly (as in you could feel the coils) & just made for a restless night's sleep. I don't understand why the owner wouldnt want to invest in decent mattresses. 4. For all that, €160 a night. I realize it's peak season (we booked here because several other locations were sold out) but at that price point I guess I just expected better. Summary : The furnishings are equivalent to a 2 or 3 star motel at best. I really don't think the facilities justifies those costs.
