Interesting and enjoyable week in the Marais Vernier countryside

Rural location but within 30 minutes of some very interesting places e.g. Etretat, Honfleur. Spacious accommodation with nice grounds, views and facilities (e.g. games room, tv and wifi, pool and Petanque pitch). Our host was super helpful and friendly and provided some very useful local information. We were provided with a walk around by the host on arrival and rec'd a welcome bottle of cider and breakfast pastries mid way through the week. Walking in the local area and seeing wildlife and working farms.

There are no walk to shops or restaurants but we sort of knew this on booking.

Perfect holiday cottage

Fantastic property for a family holiday, full of historic features, comfortable, well equipped, clean, with a private small garden and a shared pool. The village is very quiet and safe. Paul was the most helpful, provided us with many links to local supermarkets, places to visit, etc, and responded to our texts pretty quickly. The location of the village was ideal for us with up to an hour drive from Caen and under an hour drive to Honfleur, Rouen, and Etretat. There are no shops or restaurants in the village (although a restaurant is being refurbished at the moment), but you can find all that a short drive away.

Amazing! Well connected and at the same time far away

Amazing location and facilities - you are remote and yet fell connected. Easy base to explore the Normandy attraction and still enjoy absolute silence and song of wilderness

Beautiful location, property and Pool. Loved the views, games room, outdoor area & private garden.

Paul's communication with us was brilliant. We arranged a time to meet him at the Property via what's app. He was really helpful and accommodating showing us around, showing us all the facilities, and how things worked. He Whatapp'd us helpful information re: things to do locally, places to visit, information on local supermarkets and bakeries.

The quiet, beautiful countryside location, the swimming pool, the game room, and the warm welcome from the host made our stay exceptional. The house was equipped with everything one could need, and for any additional requests, the host was available to offer support. A great holiday for a family!

Great one week stay

Paul is a great Host with endless Tips. We stayed a week and went to the highlights in Rouen, Etretat, Honfluer and Jumieges. The Beds are great and comfy. The kitchen is well equipped - also contains a La Plancha. The kids loved the Playroom with Darts and Kicker and of course the pool.

The Bakery is a little away, but a Baguette machine is 3 km away.

Nice cosy cottage

This is a very nice well equipped cosy cottage in the middle of French countryside, but very close to a number of major attractions of Normandie. The hosts have been very friendly and communication has been excellent throughout. The cottage where we’ve stayed even had a cute little garden. They have also been very kind to our dog making sure he’s comfortable too.

A peaceful haven in nature with lots of comfort.

Virtually everything: the kindness of the hosts, the peacefulness and beauty of the property, its equipment. The location is perfect if you like short trips into nature by foot, by bike, by car. It is a great place to disconnect from the hectic life in the city.

Really nothing. The fact that the weather did not always allow to use the nice swimming pool cannot be blamed to anybody.

A fantastic relaxing break in a property that a lot to offer.

The property was spacious and had a lovely outdoor area for dining. The kitchen was very well equipped and the washing machine and tumble dryer valuable. The bottle of locally made Cidre in the fridge was a nice touch on our arrival. The pool area was fantastic, the pool lovely and clean and so nice to be out in the countryside. The beds were very comfortable and decor modern.

There was nothing to dislike about the property. The quietness of the local area was so peaceful and relaxing however it was a fair drive to anything we wanted to visit. The fantastic pool area was great for having a stay local day every other day though which made for a very relaxing week. We regret not walking around the hamlet a bit more as we only discovered the children’s area/sports pitch in the hamlet in the last day.

Don't overlook this one

The house is lovely and very family friendly. The private pool is great. The location, views, local restaurant are also all really good. This was our first family holiday using ferry/car instead of a plane so we decided to stay within an hour of the port. We found a real gem.

No English instructions for the dishwasher/washer/cooker was a bit of a challenge.

Comfortabele oase van rust

De prachtige rustige ligging. Met veel bezienswaardigheden binnen een uur rijden. Gite ingericht met oog voor detail met veel comfort en van alle gemakken voorzien. Omheinde tuin waar onze hond blij mee was. Een fijn zwembad. Prachtig landschap met een wijds uitzicht daarop vanuit gite. Prima wandelroutes met hond vanuit gite. Paul is een fantastische gastheer die er alles aan doet het zijn gasten naar de zin te maken. Al met al La Maraiquaise is een pareltje in een prachtige streek!

Super vakantie gehad en ook zo fijn met de hond!

Communicatie en informatie van de eigenaar Paul, een hele fijne man. Locatie midden in de natuur, het zwembad, de omheinde tuin voor (ons) de hond!! Verzorging van het groen/bloemen rondom de huisjes. De rust, de leuke stadjes (auto vereist). Super!!

We hebben enorm genoten.

De accommodatie bevindt zich op een prachtige ligging. Daar de huurder van 1 van de 3 huisjes afgebeld had, hadden we het domein voor ons alleen samen met 1 ander gezin. Dat was fantastisch. We hadden een eigen tuin waar de hond naar hartelust kon ravotten. Het was ook geen enkel probleem dat zij met ons mee was. Het huisje zelf heeft alles wat je nodig hebt. Het zwembad is heerlijk en de omgeving is fantastisch. Paul gaf ons heel wat tips om te doen in de buurt. Hij was heel behulpzaam. Paul lijkt wat streng in zijn schrijven voor je naar het verblijf gaat maar in levende lijve is hij een fantastische man en zeer aangenaam in de omgang. Er lagen capsules voor de wasmachine en vaatwasmachine. Het persoonlijke kaartje om je te verwelkomen bij aankomst is zeer fijn. Ook het feit dat Paul je persoonlijk komt begroeten en uitzwaaien is super. Dat je er kan genieten van Netflix zonder daarvoor een eigen account te hebben, is op regendagen mooi meegenomen.

Er viel ons niets tegen maar graag delen we nog het volgende: - We begrijpen waarom borg moet gegeven worden maar als je een lange reis maakt met verschillende verblijven, schrikt dat je af om naar La Maraiqaise te gaan. Ik kan me voorstellen dat sommige mensen dan effectief niet kunnen/willen reizen..... Je moet de waarborg immers storten. Paul stortte het wel heel netjes onmiddellijk terug na de reis. - De tips over de omgeving komen enorm op je af via WhatsApp. Ik ben persoonlijk iemand die graag nog even in papieren snuistert in de accommodatie zelf. Goed dat we zoveel tips kregen maar ik zou dat niet via WhatsApp doen. Dat is niet echt overzichtelijk - Met een strooien dak is het waarschijnlijk moeilijk om alles heel netjes te houden. Binnen was er niets aan te merken. Op het balkon en terras waren er heel veel spinnenwebben. Dat heeft de pret echter niet bedorven. - Het sorteren van het afval is niet helemaal duidelijk. Er is een groenbak en een PMD container maar in het huisje zelf wisten we niet goed waar we met het restafval terecht konden. We hebben het ook niet gevraagd. Hadden we dat gedaan dan zou Paul ons ongetwijfeld onmiddellijk geholpen hebben.

In einer schönen Umgebung abseits des Trubels haben wir uns hier sehr wohlgefühlt. Es fehlt an Nichts. Paul ist ein hervorragender Gastgeber. Die Anlage ist wunderschön, gepflegt und sehr sauber.

Perfekte Ruhe

Paul war der perfekte Gastgeber. Wir würden herzlich empfangen, bekamen Unmengen an Tipps für die Umgebung. Häuschen ist top ausgestattet, Garten ist eingezäunt, was prima ist mit Hund. Der Gemeinschaftsgarten hat einen Pool in dem man auch wirklich ein bisschen schwimmen kann, eine Boule Bahn und in einem Pavillon kann man Dart und Tischfußball spielen. Beeindruckend ist vor allem die Ruhe. Da kann man richtig zur Ruhe kommen.

Heerlijk verblijf in de rust!

Het geheel van ontvangst, omgeving en gite was gewoonweg goed. Alles was relaxed. De eigenaar Paul is er voor je wanneer je hem nodig hebt maar laat je voor de rest met rust. Het dorp Marais Venier is mooi gelegen en een goede uitvalbasis om uitstapjes te maken. Het complex is zeer rustig (zeg maar rustig 'stil') gelegen. Het huisje was van alle gemakken voorzien en goed leefbaar. We hebben een heerlijke week gehad!

Viel niet echt tegen maar houd er rekening mee dat in de directe omgeving geen winkels zijn. Je moet er toch minimaal 10 à 15 minuten voor rijden.

Magnifique gîte à choisir sans hésitation

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour à la Maraiquaise. Le gîte était très confortable et situé dans un domaine charmant, au calme et au milieu de la verdure et des fleurs. Nous n'avons pas profité de la piscine bien que déjà opérationnelle en ce début de mois d'avril, mais nous avons apprécié le terrain de pétanque ainsi que la salle de jeux. Nous avons choisi ce gîte pour son emplacement central en vue des visites que nous avions planifiées, à savoir Honfleur, Deauville, Rouen et le Pays d'Auge. Là encore le gîte a parfaitement répondu à nos attentes. Nous avons également pu faire quelques belles balades à pied à proximité. Un mot enfin concernant notre hôte Paul : celui-ci est charmant et a été aux petits soins avec nous durant tout le séjour. Enfin, un grand merci à lui de nous avoir mis à disposition un branchement pour charger notre voiture électrique : ceci nous a permis de partir chaque jour en excursion avec une voiture chargée ce qui était très appréciable. En résumé, nous recommandons vivement cet hébergement et nous y retournerons avec plaisir si l'occasion se présente.
