The swimming pool was very nice to use. The shower was good with a very nice water pressure. Lots of space in general and big rooms.
There could be a bit more cutlery/plates in the room for 6 people. There was a coffee filter and machine but no coffee.

Slight issue on arrival as couldn’t get hold of the host but we were far later than we said we would be and we just figured it out ourselves so not a big deal.

The room was clean. Powerful shower. Very nice Abbey down the road to visit.
Smoke detector removed and didn't work. Electric switch wiring loose. No kettle. No extra fire escape in a large complex building. https://photos.app.goo.gl/wApRvYbdkGpTaq5G6. https://photos.app.goo.gl/CJHMBYKnPggmgt6i9.
The TV remote was broken and the seats were old and had collapsed seats.

It was a beautiful location

Breakfast was lovely and there was more than enough for us all.
The hosts were friendly and helpful and checked they we had everything we needed early on.
There is a pool.
Although the chateau is in town and we had a downstairs room next to the front door, it was very quiet and we had a peaceful night’s sleep.
This was booked as a night off from camping but it wasn’t the break that we had hoped. It is a tired building and furniture is well-used and wobbly. The accommodation was cleaned but not thoroughly and we had an obviously stained bedsheet (we hadn’t noticed until late so couldn’t ask to change it) which then made us doubt the standard of hygiene overall.

- Easy and convenient to access place.
- Swimming pool is enjoyable.
- Rooms are fully equipped (kitchen / fridge, bathroom).
- Convenient breakfast.
- Very old room overall.
- No light blocking curtains / shutters of any kind so the room is quite bright at night.
- Old windows, no sound insulation: you can hear anything outside (cars, people talking outside, lots of pigeons).
- Extremely hot inside the room (it was a hot day outside), a portable AC unit would be appreciated.
- No shower gel / shampoo in the bathroom.

very special place
some rooms/furniture could do with a “better”/cleaner renovation solution; pool area could be much cleaner, as well as the access to the pool

This is a place with a lot of character! A very atmospheric castle with well-functioning kitchen appliances, a coffee machine, a large LED TV and a very comfortable shower room with good pressure and simple adjustments.
Beautiful and very large backyard, with a huge old tree, neatly trimmed lawn, swimming pool and sunbeds which we could use already in late April. Also, there are swings for children and a trampoline, which they love a lot. There is a plenty of space for car parking and it is free. A very calm and quiet place where you can only hear the birds singing in the morning.
I can recommend a very friendly owner Philippe, who speaks English fluently and provided help, advice and a great support on all questions you can have.
This hotel is located in the heart of Normandy, close to shops and the beach of Le Havre. There are many attractions worth visiting in the surrounding area: Wallace Abbey, Honfleur, Etretat, etc.
Thus, staying for a long time, there is always something to do!
Nothing to mention.

A lovely old country chateau with many original features set in a huge garden which our dogs loved in a quiet village with useful things like pizzarias. The apartment we stayed in was spacious and the bed was comfortable. We were given a nice breakfast of croissants, good coffee, etc. It was a perfect stop over for us and one of the most interesting places we stayed. Fantastic value for money. Very peaceful.

We are a family that use this property to stay overnight each year when travelling back from Brittany back to the Netherlands after 2-3 weeks camping, so after sleeping in a tent for 3 weeks this place is perfect. If you are after a place that is perfect and new condition then this is not a place for you but if you want a place with a lot of character then this is for you, plus the Host is awesome, so friendly and loves a good laugh, it almost feels like visiting a family member. We will continue to come back here as it has become a bit of a tradition for us now, a bit of luxury after camping and perfect for a 1 night stop over, saving us from pitching the tent up and having to pack the car again in the morning before the 5-6 hour drive home

Chateau Gruchet Le Valasse is a charming old villa surrounded by beautiful green lush hills. The chateau used to be the former manor of a textile industry owner. The interior has been divided into independent apartments and studio like rooms with kitchenette looking to a beautiful private garden with a nice swimming pool. Around the property you can find the ruins of the textile ateliers, and an old watermill. Gruchet Le Valasse is a 30 minute drive from Le Havre and the white cliffs of Etretat which makes it a nice sport for hikers and people who likes nature. Good WiFi connection, free parking, and a nice host who tried his very best to speak in english with us.
Despite the charm and ambiance of the old villa, the general building and rooms are in need of a bit of love and maintenance. The furniture and general decoration is a bit shabby and tacky, which lefts you with a bittersweet taste, as the owner and staff are really kind and the location is quite beautiful. Definitively more oriented to families and nature seekers than couples or a romantic weekend. Gruchet Le Valasse is a beautiful town but there is not much to do in the evening. A bit overpriced, but we booked it very last minute.

Convenient stop off point on journey, Building is impressive from outside.
The inside of the property is poorly maintained. Entrance hall has dirty worn parque flooring. Room has similar flooring with two dirty matts. The whole place inside and out needed time love and money spending on it. Shower head not fixed to pole. Towels old and poor quality. Not the Chateau experience I was expecting. Owner Philip not present on arrival. Polite French Lady gave us the keys but spoke no English. We don't mind old, quirky or rustic but needs to be clean and maintained.

Great stay in a chateau with a nice garden and swimming pool(it was too late to swim but still its cool that it's there). Very friendly owner who gave us useful tips for exploring the area. Very spacious apartments for two of us. Nice french breakfast.
