Orchid House

Lovely little place situated within the hosts garden, with gated parking. Very clean and spacious with everything you need including bottle opener and a very comfy bed! Within a 15 minute walk to the village centre, just a 5 minute drive to Southport and 30-45 mins to Liverpool. Excellent location for us to travel to a Foo Fighters concert at Anfield Stadium. The hosts are very friendly, helpful people indeed!

We didn't have any hot water on arrival and ended up having cold showers but that was okay because it was such a hot day!! We reported this to the hosts and they came to sort this straight away so all good 👍

With a fully equipped kitchenette it’s perfectly possible to cook for yourself. There’s a very good local pub just a few minutes walk away. The beach is very close by.

The location was good for our needs and the hosts were pleasant . The accommodation was fairly spacious .

The accommodation is too close and overlooked by the owners own property , you are in their back yard , no privacy. The accommodation smelt damp but appeared clean , however not so . The fridge needs defrosting, large block of ice inside dripping on my food . I couldn't open 2 of the freezer drawers because they were frozen solid. Only one teabag , no coffee , no milk pods There was no washing machine as advertised on the booking.com site , the host did apologise and contact the website , she also offered to let me use her washer (my daughter was an inpatient at a local hospital). in the bathroom only half a toilet roll, had to ask for more. Only one hand towel , two bath towels to share for 3 nights . The only toiletries was a half used shower gel and hand wash . We had slugs twice in the shower and the toilet didn't flush properly. But the worst thing was the bed which looked lovely but was actually very badly stained . We won't come back despite the hosts being nice , they need to really look at what they are providing.
