Absentee owner that does not care to invest in property

There was no coffee in the room at check in. Raphael said he would bring us coffee in the morning. He never brought us coffee. All of the toiletries were a different brand. There was body lotion in the shower instead of shampoo. We kept asking for it. We found a half empty bottle of shampoo on the doorstep the last night of our stay. The doorstep is on the street with heavy foot traffic. The bed only had two pillows. I kept requesting an extra pillow and never received one. The owner, Mickey, told me there are two small pillows in the apartment. She meant a small decorative pillow. After six inquiries into getting coffee, shampoo and a pillow Mickey told me “I do not understand he sent me a photo I will give you a discount” a photo “from shampoo and coffee that he brought you”. The property owner lives in Amsterdam and clearly does not want to invest in the property. There was no bulb in the bedside lamp. The bed only has 2 pillows instead of four. The shower curtain only had half of the hanging hooks; One in every other hole. There are only two hangars in the wardrobe. So you cannot hang up your fancy clothes for the many Michelin rated restaurants. The two pillows and duvet were in decent white linens but the fitted sheet was a rough and worn green fabric. We were lied to every day by Mickey, that Raphael was going to bring us coffee and shampoo. No surprise that Mickey never refunded any of our money. Just another lie.

Durbuy is a beautiful place to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying all the local facilities.

Great location in the centre of Durbuy. The apartment is in a historic building next to a church and monastery. It's a beautiful place to visit and our host Raphael went out of his way to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here!

A local convenience store would have been useful as there was nowhere to buy groceries. The apartment has a good kitchen so next time we would make sure to bring shopping with us.

The property was very well located and very quiet. Chantal, the little lady responsible for the property, was very kind and helpful.

There was no hair dryer. But, Chantal was able to help. Suggest one is being placed there permanently. Was surprised there was a connecting door to another apartment, which wasn’t mentioned in the description. Luckily the other guests were very quiet.

At 10am on our final day Chantal came to ask when we were checking out - I said 11. She reacted disappointed as though I was making things difficult for her by not checking out sooner. I showed her my email confirmation clearly stating 10-11am checkout time. But she didn't wait to collect the keys and when I phoned her at 10:55 she made me walk around looking for the cleaning lady in one of the other flats to let her know we were leaving and drop the keys. I found that unprofessional and it meant we ended our stay on a negative note. As other reviewers have noted, there is no terrace or outdoor space to eat - there is only the doorstep. There's no sound insulation with the neighbouring bedroom so you can hear them talking and coughing. There were only two pillows provided and only two towels which were a bit stained. It didn't feel worth the money we paid.

Absolute gem!

Beautiful apartments in historic monastery next to the chateau. High ceilings, large comfortable bed, natural stone wet room with shower and toilet, small itches area with hob, fridge, dishwasher and coffee machine. Table laid for two with small bottle of red wine. Lady met us with key after we arranged to meet by calling 15 mins before our arrival. She recommended where to eat at Fou de Roy only a short walk away in the centre of Durbuy. Lovely little village on the river. Free WiFi.

We had the apartment with terrace but it really was just a step up to the (enormous imposing) front door not a terrace - however this was not an issue for us.

Rafaël, de beheerder, was fantastisch, mede dankzij hem hebben wij een fantastisch kerstmarkt-weekend gehad!

De ligging (de kerstmarkt praktisch in de achtertuin!), het nostalgische pand, zeer schoon en goed bereikbaar, goede faciliteiten.

Het bed, een kuil in het midden van het bed waar we inrolden. En de koude douche, mijn man had nog warm water, ik helaas niet. Een kwartier later hadden we wel weer warm water.

Parking is niet gratis, in beschrijving staat dat dit wel zo is. Heb vuile vaat gedaan van vorige gasten, we waren met 2, er was slechts 1 diep bord, koelkast mankeerde stukken waardoor drank niet in de koelkastdeur kon bewaard worden, dolce gustomachine lekte aanzienlijk. Enkel een gewone binnendeur scheidde ons apartement van dat van de buren. We konden alles horen. Voor deze prijs verwacht je méér.

Goed gelegen Verfgeur in de gang, plastiek op de grond, deurlijsten pas geschilderd. Vloer nog nat van te dweilen en wc hing vol blauw product, niet verder gepoetst Overal verschrikkelijke geur, duf, schimmelachtig. Vuile dampkap, vuil hoofdeinde bed, dikke stoflaag op de decoder van de Tv , dus algemeen niet hygiënisch en het mooie uitzicht op de berg was vooral uitzicht op de parking en een klein stukje zicht op de rots.
