About this cottage rental

Built, in the early 1920's with locally made bricks. It was used to house draught horses and equipment, as part of the Mangahao – Haywards power reticulation scheme. The Stables were converted into a beautiful cottage during the late 1980’s with the renovation work being done by a conservation architect.

The Stables sleep up to 3 adults, but is ideal as a nice cosy retreat for a couple or a solo get away. Spend a weekend relaxing and re-energising in our self catering Stables.

„The Stables“ cottage is a great place to relax and unwind. Karen had set the log burner for us when we arrived on a cold winter’s day and we soon had a cosy fire going which heated up the place in no time. The cottage is tastefully designed and decorated, well maintained and equipped with everything you need. We also enjoyed the little bushwalk in the arboretum right next to the „Stables“. Karen and Steven are the most welcoming and friendly hosts. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Place. Its warm, cosy and homely. My partner and I had a great stay here. The hosts are very friendly and the house is wonderfully clean. The photos really do not do this place justice. It is situated on a beautiful property, the fire warms the house well, the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and lounging areas are well equiped and make for a very relaxing stay. There is some nice walks close by, and supplies only a short drive away. We will definitely be back sometime. Would highly recommend.

This is an ABSOLUTE GEM! Location is beautiful, accommodation extremely comfortable, and it was so quiet. The perfect 'get away' from the busyness of life to catch my breath. Will definitely be booking again!!!
