Cosy cottage ideal for a single traveller or couple. Complete with woodburning stove and range cooker.
Debra, the owner had baked a delicious cake and left milk in the fridge. So I could have a quick cuppa before unpacking. She was very knowledgeable about places I might like to visit. I also followed her suggestions for places to eat. I was happily surprised when she brought over a bowl of first crop, home grown strawberries 🍓 😋. I believe that Debra was very keen for me to enjoy my stay and if I had any issues, I didn't, she would have happily resolved them for me.

Lovely, cosy cottage providing everything you could possibly need. Clean and comfortable, lovely big bath towels, lots of hot water and a pint of milk and a delicious cake for us on arrival. Our hostess, Debra, is a lovely friendly lady who keeps goats and chickens on her smallholding, so there are fresh eggs available. It's located on a fairly busy main road but the triple glazing at the front works so well you hardly notice. The location is good for Alnwick (castle, gardens) and Rothbury (Cragside, Simonside hills) and an easy run south to Morpeth and north to Wooler and the Scottish Borders. A good central location for walkers. I highly recommend Briar Cottage.
I wasn't over keen on exiting the drive close to a fairly busy main road junction, however it is easy access for travelling in any direction!
