For the price this was s very good. Everything for staying overnight, plus self service laundry and a public bath for soaking .

The check-in process includes receiving a code from the receptionist and entering it into a self-check-in machine. I wouldn't say it's impossible to do on your own, but a few people were very confused about which point on the menu to select. The menu names are not very easy to understand, and you would probably click the wrong option first. Then you have to return to the main screen and restart the process from scratch. I would not call it intuitive.
Also, the reception staff seemed annoyed. Maybe it was just the day I checked in, but the lady I approached was very unhelpful and looked unhappy and annoyed. Even though I was speaking to her in Japanese, she kept trying to translate messages into English, which I never requested. I can certainly proceed through the whole check-in process in Japanese only.
She also asked for my passport, and I told her I'm a resident. She continued asking for my passport until I showed her my residence card.
Another issue: She told me my room was not ready, and that I have to wait in the lobby. But the time was 2:59 PM. The check-in time for this hotel is from 3:00 PM, which means my room should be ready by the time check-in opens. It's not like I was asking to check in before the assigned time - it was one minute before 3:00 PM and my room was not ready. I asked her to explain why the room had not been cleaned yet. She then made a call, and it turned out the room had just been cleaned. Arriving at a hotel and being told that your room has not been cleaned yet when it is check-in time is something that should not happen, right?
