Tucked beside the Ohiwa estuary and close to the harbour’s main channel, the location is exceptionally tranquil, with ever-changing tidal views right at your doorstep. Enjoy easy access to fishing, shellfish gathering, kayaking on the harbour, surfing, bush walks, sailing, kite surfing, and even glow worms nearby.
The bach is also conveniently located near Onekawa Te Mawhai Regional Park for scenic walking, and the Waiotahe Beach Trail (part of the Motu Trails) for cycling enthusiasts. Watch birdlife come and go with the tides while you unwind in a truly natural coastal environment.
The bach is a compact, open-plan space with a separate bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher. Sleeping is located on a mezzanine level, accessed via a ladder-style staircase The mezzanine includes one double bed and two single beds (one stored underneath the other), and features a low ceiling due to the roof pitch—standing height is limited in some areas (please read special conditions about access).
A spacious wrap-around deck with outdoor seating provides the perfect spot to relax, dine, and take in the peaceful surroundings.
This is not a luxury beach house, but a comfortable and cosy kiwi bach in a stunning natural setting—perfect for those wanting to slow down and recharge.

Special conditions:
• One-night stays incur a $40 surcharge.
• Smoking permitted outdoors only.
• In true Kiwi bach style, guests are expected to bring their own linen, clean before departure and take away all rubbish and recycling.
• Please note: The mezzanine bedroom is accessed by a ladder and may not be suitable for those with mobility limitations. It is also not recommended for children under 5 due to fall risk. Guests use the ladder and mezzanine at their own risk.
