My partner and I had a two night stay at the Merrydale Guest House, a place we had not stayed before and we thoroughly enjoyed are time there, our room was lovely and clean the full English breakfast was beautiful but what made it for us was the warmth and kindness of the owners Xia and Brian and their staff, nothing was to much trouble for them and they made us feel very welcome, we will certainly recommend the Merrydale to family and friends as well as returning ourselves. Thankyou.

Fabulous location, great accommodation- looked after well, great comfort with the room, we had the terrace which was lovely! Staff were brilliant, very friendly. Food was excellent. Can't wait to visit again!

Great location very close to the front and only ten minutes walk from the station. We got a lovely welcome from Xia and Brian and felt looked after the whole time. The room was clean and we had plenty of space including a little terrace to sit in. Breakfast was superb and I thought the hotel was excellent value for money.

The location the studio itself was cute and included all amenities needed.
The cleanliness of the place left a lot to be desired. I didn’t sleep in the bed as there were hairs and stains on the linen. The pillows have seen better days. The toilet roll holder was dirty also had dirt and hairs on which I had to clean myself. The fan provided was also dirty and pointless as provided zero cool air needs upgrading. Given the current climate it is a must.
