Accès aux linges de toilette et de lit le lendemain de notre arrivée. Le ménage était fait rapidement, un bon ménage de fond serait appréciable pour effacer les traces des précédentes locations.

The balcony and the view down the canal. The location close to the central area. The downstairs space with a good sized kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. Sheets and towels were provided.

The apartment is on the second floor - that's 52 steps up a steep ancient wooden staircase to the front door. Within the apartment, access to the upper mezzanine floor is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The eleven-step spiral staircase has a maximum head height of 5'6'' at the top, very narrow treads and is small, steep and cramped. We are both tall, fit and healthy but had to duck everytime we went upstairs and cling on to the handrail coming down to for safety. The bedrooms are sparcely furnished and many of the accessible cupboards (some were too low to use) are full of the owner's stuff. One had a large electric fire almost filling it. The second bedroom is an attic room with a steeply sloping ceiling and only has a very small corridor strip where it is possible to stand upright. One side of the bed has a floor to ceiling height of 2'. We ended up using both bedrooms as the space upstairs is so cramped. The downstairs toilet was a store room with vacuum, ironing board and brushes obstructing the limited access. In fact much of the possible storage for clothes, toiletries and food was unuseable because it was already full. There was no main lighting in the lounge area apart from a couple of weak standard lamps - it was dull in the evening and reading a book was very difficult. The apartment is in need of an upgrade. Furniture is worn and the dining table will only just sit four; the one on the balcony can only sit two. I wouldn't recommend this apartment for more than two people.
